We stayed for the weekend and had a really enjoyable visit. The staff were all great. It was extremely busy when we arrived to check our bags and the bellman was busy but made sure to acknowledge us and let us know he would be with us as soon as possible. The lobby had nice seating areas while we were waiting. Sadly the dogs were not at the concierge desk on Friday and Saturday but one of them was there on Sunday when we checked out. The room was nice and we loved the vintage postcards. I loved that they have an indoor pool and there is a lot of nice, comfortable seating around the pool. The pool is surrounded by windows and is very bright. I appreciated that they had a water cooler beside the pool as I often get thirsty doing laps. We did wish there was a hot tub though. The pool itself could use a bit of a refresh as it has some rusty spots and the ceiling above the pool also needs some repair. The change room was nice and clean and had lots of amenities that you might need such as Q-tips and a comb which I appreciated. There is a historical feel to the hotel with the original post office "tube" on each floor which was fun. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here.
Location, staff, bed , pillows
One afternoon the heat was shut off in the whole hotel and the a/c was run because some guests complained about overheated rooms ! It was about 40 degrees outside and it was VERY uncomfortable in the room ! They apologized but that didn’t make it better…also the thermostat is set by the hotel, we had to sleep with an open window the first night , because we couldn’t lower the temperature.
Breakfast was definitely overpriced!
Love the vintage Fairmont hotels ..............One of a Kind.
WE elected to stay on the Gold Level at the hotel. The only issue is the mix of adults and children in the Gold Lounge ..........the Lounge was overrun by children ...............I made the suggestion to the Fairmont about having separate lounges for Adults only and for Family with Children including separate floors for rooms with children. Given the premium for the Gold Level is would be perferrable to have a more peaceful and quiet areas.
Excellent location, comfy bed and pillows. Staff very professional. Good value at this time of year.
A five star hotel only because there are fancy stores in the lobby area ( lobby is not inviting). Tiny bathroom with complicated fixtures in shower. Room small and dated.
Best location and price/quality
Location
Terrible room with chipped walls and clearly needs to be renovated. It's. King size suite, which made me think im getting a great room but come to find out im on the 2nd floor where the chlorine pool is, therefore the entire floor smells like it, AND when I open the curtains the window is blocked by a massive air vent and I barely get daylight. The pool was terrible and paint chips coming off the ceiling and rust around the rim of the pool. My disappointment cannot be e measured given that I thought I was paying for an upscale experience and receiving less than what I can get at a comfort suites for half the price.
Super Lage
Gold level excellent
I think it would be great to have a gold floor for just adults and a separate floor for adults with children
Locatie
Facilities were outstanding, location couldn’t be better, and Staff super friendly everywhere we stood
Everything was perfect!
Rewelacyjny hotel
Friendly staff, beautiful exterior, good location
Dated, underwhelming interior, pool was small and dated and hot tub was broken.
You overbooked my room and took no responsibility. I booked a King Suite but was downgraded to a Junior Deluxe and told they were the same. They’re not. When I raised the issue, I was simply told nothing else was available.
This was for getting ready on my wedding day, and I was left scrambling at the last minute to find another hotel the day before. The hotel offered zero help; no alternative room and no effort to rebook me elsewhere. For a hotel of this calibre, that level of service is shocking.
To make matters worse, when we walked into Junior Deluxe, the space felt outdated and mismatched, and even the corridor leading to the room set a disappointing tone. It was a stark contrast to the photos online, and honestly quite shocking to walk into.
Overall, an extremely poor experience with virtually nonexistent customer service. I feel compelled to warn others so they don’t face the same situation I did especially if you plan for a special event. Do NOT count on these guys.
