Great Fairmont Gold experience
Sion was such a great Hostess looking after our every need.
I don’t usually share my thoughts on a hotel but I have to do it for this hotel. This was THE best we have ever been treated. It didn’t matter if it was housekeeping to front desk to servers to valet they all went above and beyond to make our staycation the best! Special shout out to the Chef whose recipe for the beef jerky is THE best in the land, thank you for the generous delivery to our room. Also you just can’t imagine the breakfast and afternoon snacks that are included in the ‘Gold’ room selection . The spreads and pastries are made in house and a generous selection of different foods.
Also for our room upgrade, thank you Oksana . And thank you to Jamison and Cecilia for all your help and so friendly . We were treated so very well, the room was very comfy and quiet. The main floor lounge is accessible and accommodated our family for the best Appies and cocktails. There was live music, she had a beautiful voice that didn’t overtake our conversation. The massage at the spa was so good, excellent deep tissue. The pool and steam room , hot tub it was like a resort! Overall one of our most memorable vacations we’ve had! Highly recommend!
Great location.
An all too brief stay. Flew in, checked in and rushed out to a hockey game. Only time for a short visit to the Gold lounge.
Excellent service from all hotel members, Vitaily at the front door, Jamieson (?) at Gold check in, and Robin with our luggage.
Good sized room with view straight onto the Calgary Tower.
Evening canapés and breakfast at the Gold lounge - good selection of food and constantly topped up.
As we’ve said before, staying at the lovely Fairmont Palliser in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is always wonderful - but staying at the Gold level is an even greater experience and well worth the extra expense! We treat ourselves to such a special stay a few times a year - even though we actually live in Calgary. The Gold Lounge’s inviting atmosphere with its complimentary hot breakfast, little treats such as cookies and/or candy in the afternoon, and the delicious evening hors d’oeuvres and dessert more than make up for the extra cost. Over and above all that, however, is the excellent service that the Gold level staff provides. The staff here at the Fairmont Palliser’s Gold level always go above and beyond to make us feel so very welcome and appreciated! From special extras to welcome us to our room such as chocolate treats and our favourite caramel beignets, to a big surprise such as an upgrade to a suite, the fantastic staff always makes our stay special. Great big thanks (alphabetically) to the wonderful Gold staff at the Palliser that made our stay so very special this time: Beckham, Jameson, Jill, Neha, and Sion! (Also looking forward to seeing Cecilia before we check out today.) An extra “thank you” to Neha for picking out the most excellent wine choices for us - both red and white!
Leaving the Fairmont Palliser today and have loved my stay. Such an elegant friendly spot that im glad I have discovered. My fortunate late booked room rate included an incredible breakfast, I chose Eggs Benedict with maple ham and a fruit plate. The quality was amazing and my server (wish I’d got her name) was lovely.
Oh and the room was a decent size, tastefully decorated and a very comfortable King bed. The bathroom with great Le Labo products had a bathtub and a good hot shower on a -12 Calgary morning.
My bus to Banff leaves Calgary mid afternoon and the reception kindly gave me a 1.30pm checkout.
I’ll return without hesitation.
We stayed at the Fairmont Palliser during its 111th anniversary, and it was one of those rare hotel experiences where everything just felt effortless and thoughtful.
From the moment we arrived, the service was seamless. The valet was instantaneous, and by the time we reached our room, the porter had already delivered our luggage — hung up our clothes and neatly organized everything. It was such a small detail, but it immediately made us feel at home.
At check-in, Neha was wonderful. She welcomed us warmly, shared the menu with us, and arranged an amazing suite that exceeded expectations. One detail that completely delighted my wife was the Christmas tree in our room — she was genuinely excited, and it set a festive, personal tone for our stay.
The food was delicious, and the wine service was outstanding. The wine was served in the Gold Lounge, and the staff there were exceptional — they continually checked on us, always attentive without ever being intrusive. Some of the wine was even complimentary, which added to the relaxed, celebratory feel of the experience.
Back in the room, we loved the chocolates waiting for us and the perfect turndown service — exactly what you want after a great evening.
One of the most memorable moments was when the team noticed us playing cribbage in the lounge and later surprised us with a Palliser-branded deck of cards. Such a thoughtful, personal gesture that really captured the spirit of this hotel.
The Fairmont Palliser isn’t just beautiful and historic — it’s run by people who truly care. Neha and the entire team made us feel genuinely welcomed and exceptionally well looked after.
Congratulations to the Fairmont Palliser on 111 years. This stay was outstanding, and we will absolutely be back.
We stayed at the Fairmont Palliser for one night at the end of our Rocky Mountaineer train journey from Vancouver to Calgary. The hotel is very centrally located, and the foyer is beautiful and welcoming.
Our junior suite with two double beds was extremely spacious and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the bathroom was the complete opposite — so small that one had to breathe in to squeeze past the door to get inside (and we are both relatively slim!). A bi-fold door would have been far more practical. Once inside, there was very little room to manoeuvre and nowhere to place toiletries.
Despite this, we did enjoy our stay overall. If staying again, we would definitely check in advance whether any rooms have larger bathrooms.
Our wedding reception was in the ballroom 50 years ago and we celebrated dinner here most every Dec 18th since; so our 50th Anniversary we stayed overnight and given an upgrade to a penthouse room. The included lounge was made special in champagne service with Neha, Cecilia and Sammy, thank you, we had a wonderful stay.
Decent hotel, sometimes took a while to get our vehicle from the valet. The shower head was fixed and a little high which didn’t provide much water pressure for shorter people. Bathroom and room were on the smaller side. Pillows were a little flatter than I would like. TV was not a smart tv. Hotel staff were very good and friendly. Lobby is fancy looking and nicely decorated for Christmas. Room was clean and quiet.
Always the best ultimate experience on the Fairmont Palliser Gold floor ! This is all brought together with their amazing team of Corrine, Oksanana, Jameson and Meha!
It was very comfortable, and the people and service were more than kind. We had some struggles and the employees had cero problem to help us.
Excellent stay once again with Fairmont Gold. The attendant’s Jill and Jamieson make the experience go above and beyond with their hospitality and made great recommendations for restaurants during our stay and for our next Fairmont destination to Banff! We will be back. Cheers. -
We had an amazing experience with Fairmont Palliser for our wedding. The hotel was great at accommodating a very large group of family and friends for this event in a wide range of rooms. We personally ended up staying in two suites which were very well appointed, in great shape and super clean. We love Fairmont for the customer service and high end experience. Nicole Curtis, Cindiee Le, Carol Kwon really stood out for their excellent service and kindness. Would highly recommend Fairmont Palliser.
From start to finish, I experienced a first class stay with the staff at the Palliser, Fairmont Gold. Upon arriving, I was automatically upgraded to a beautiful Heritage Suite at no extra cost. The PM supervisor Neha Dhiraj recognized me from my stay 1.5 years ago, welcomed me warmly during canapes, and treated me to some beautiful wine! She upgraded my room to the very large suite on my last stay, and made such an impression on me, that I have decided to return periodically. She also delivered extra chocolates and some desserts to my room after canapes. The following morning at breakfast, Oksana Byndyu (AM staff) warmly greeted me, remembering me from 1 year ago! She also was very friendly, making me feel like I was at home. I would like to supremely acknowledge these 2 ladies, they are the reason I return. Friendly cleaning staff and lounge staff also topped my experience!!
It's the Fairmont. Old style glamour with exceptional customer service. We were offered an upgrade, which we accepted (for a cost), but this didn't upgrade the bedsize or bathroom size. Beds were tall but only a double or queen. The bathrooms were TINY. Very cramped. The room itself was spacious, though. Concierge staff offered to help with everything, which was wonderful, but tipping was strongly encouraged. The Christmas decorations were stunning. A lovely hotel.
After a late night flight from the east coast we spent the next few days at this hotel and it didn't disappoint. For a family of 4, the deluxe room with two double beds was perfect. The beds were very comfortable. Thanking the hotel for the little treats they left in our room (golden horse shoe and chocolate cowboy hats) and a lovely note from Ken. We were in town to attend the Calgary Stampede and the hotel was a perfect location to walk to the stampede. The pool and spa were terrific and the whole family enjoyed. Breakfast was delicious with a range of flat iron steaks and granola parfait. Although we didn't get much of a view from our room, it didn't matter as we had so much to do during the day. Staff were courteous and very welcoming. Would definitely stay again.
The Fairmont in Calgary was beautiful and well run. The room was very spacious and very well appointed and the location was excellent. We were able to walk to the Saddledome for the hockey game and there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well. We were very pleased all around and would not hesitate to return to the Farmont Palliser!
From the moment you walk in the door of the Palliser, you feel the difference. It is a regal, well maintained building with a staff who are ready to assist. We were booked on the Fairmont Gold level which was wonderful. The staff was more than friendly. They were kind. All of the staff, from the housekeepers to the front desk/concierge. We appreciated how excited they all were to share their city and make recommendations of what to see and do. We truly felt that they cared. The breakfast and evening canapé service was always tasty. Of course, the room was clean, comfortable and beautiful. I know old buildings can get a bad rap for, well, being old. When an old building is cared for like the Palliser, it feels charming to us.
Wonderful service and location. Shout out to Beckham who bent over backwards to help us and make our stay and experience so good.
The room faced the train track with freight trains running several times an hour, at night. I seriously ended up in tears in the middle of the night. Make sure you look out your window when you check in and make sure you know if you can tolerate the noise as this is what you will be sleeping with.
The toilet is placed so close to the shower door the seat is permanently angled so you can fit your leg in 😂
