Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter

We were early for our check in, and charged $25 for an early check in, which was fine. At least the hotel had a room available prior to the published check in time.

Room was comfortable and clean. Bed was a bit hard.!

Staff were friendly.

Tables in the restaurant were very close together, food was ok.
Bar was small, but staff were very good.

This hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to many restaurants, shops in the Gaslamp district.
Was also a comfortable walk to Seaport Village and the USS Midway.
The trolley train is right outside the door, which made it super easy to get around town.

Only compliant is that at night it’s a bit noisy from the street noise, plus on Monday night, the freight train came through at 12:45 am, and must have been doing switching most of the early hours of the morning.

Overall a very nice hotel and good stay.

This is a modern mid-size hotel. The location is excellent, as Petco Park and many bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The trolley line is also close.

As for the hotel itself, my room was of a normal size, with adequate work space, decent wifi and an appropriate number of outlets. The staff was friendly, and my room was immaculate.

Definitely a mixed bag. Service in the restaurant was excellent, location is good, rooms are large if a little odd (odd deadspace by the closet, no desk or chair, just a high top and stool). Bed and pillows okay, probably need to replaced soon. Gym on the terrace floor has a decent amount of equipment. Rooms could be cleaned better, found long black hairs in the shower. Drains partially clogged so you can’t run the shower too long. No hot water in the afternoon but mornings okay. Iron cracked (electrocution hazard?) and coffee maker hasn’t been cleaned for a few years. The only truly bad part was denying me their chintzy $15 meal credit because I booked on a third party site. Guess Hilton can’t afford the super lofty, amazing food credit.

I loved the Hotel, but we ate in the Wild Hare cafe there. Melissa is the greatest! She was attentive, intentional, friendly, and professional. Please promote her!! She is so great it is as if Conrad Hilton himself came back from his reward to train her! I wish more people were like her- so please, promote her to places of influence and mentorship!

Our stay at Hilton San Diego Gaslamp was absolutely exceptional and couldn’t have been more perfect for a bachelor party. From the moment we arrived, the recently renovated spaces felt dreamy—stylish, modern, and energetic without losing that elevated Hilton comfort. What truly set this experience apart was the leadership presence: I had the pleasure of personally meeting both the General Manager and the Director of Operations as they were walking the lobby, genuinely greeting guests and checking in on the experience. That level of visibility and care says everything about the culture of the hotel.

The team went above and beyond to celebrate our group, surprising us with a special cheese plate sent up to our room, which was such a thoughtful touch. Every room was ready early, making arrival seamless, and to top it off, they even offered us late checkouts—something you can imagine is priceless for a bachelor weekend. The service, attention to detail, and overall vibe made this an unforgettable stay. Highly recommend for group trips, celebrations, or anyone looking for a polished yet fun Gaslamp experience.

Stayed here for a few nights. Amazing hotel, truly enjoyed my stay. I was able to get a French Quarter suite room and it did not disappoint. Wonderful views of some downtown streets and SD Convention Center. The hotel has a friendly vibe. Every employee I encountered was helpful. Love the housekeeping staff, they provided me extra coffee for the room and always took care of the room. Truly enjoyed the stay. The only downside to the hotel is that it is close to downtown streets and at night you can sometimes hear trash trucks picking up the trash cans, but besides that this hotel is amazing.

Melissa and staff help us feel at home during our stay would definitely visit again. Food was great and provided a Chill environment.

We frequent the Gaslamp Hilton when we visit San Diego multiple times a year, and it never disappoints. The rooms are clean and updated, the location is second to none, and Melissa and Carl are highly attentive and friendly behind the bar. It’s been a pleasure staying and we will be back!
