Primarily a holding space for people who’ve come to this country without a passport. How they can also operate as a hotel for paying guests is beyond me. Groups of men smoking and blocking the entrance. Police are always here. Bikes all over the place. For your own safety. Stay elsewhere.
No food facilities, a reception that shuts up shop at 11pm, a room that was tatty and with A/C that was out of order.
Overall this hotel should be closed and completely refurbished.
On arrival the main entrance was having concrete work done so had to enter through the rear door where you walked past discarded fridges and other tools. You arrive into a dark and dingy hall and I genuinely thought they had had a power cut as it was so dark; only small emergency type lighting on. The walls were black and stained and the carpet pattern was unrecognisable. The ‘reception’ was basically a desk and the security guard they had posted here was either asleep OR playing games on his phone (one night with spent alcohol containers next to him - unsure if it was theirs).
The room was very big; the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was recently refurbished. Thats where the positives stop.
The furniture in the room was extremely outdated and the sofa looked like it could walk itself out the room!! Very unclean and clean.
Their is no air-con or natural air flow in the room; even opening the window provided little relief from the heat wave we experienced.
I paid nearly £450 for 5 nights here and if I had the option of alternate accommodation I would have taken it. Honestly; would have paid £150/200 for this stay at a push.
Overall this hotel should not be open and should be closed for refurb.
I booked a room for Saturday 2nd July 2022. I had booked other hotels tentatively but wanted a hotel that was clsoer to a local venue at which we were attedning a concert. A present for my wife. Upon booking at Garden Court, and receiving confirmation of that booking, I cancelled the other hotels. Just 5 days before I was due to attend Carlos, from the hotel he did not identify his position, I assume someone with some form of "responsibilty" called me to advise that they had to cancel my room. I advised strongly this was not acceptable and the excuse given was contractors had overrun and my room would not be available although the hotel was still going to be open. I aske dif I could have another room he said no as the hotel was full. I said with events at Silverstone (F1) and other local events I would not find alternative accomodation. This proved to be the case!! I advised that as a result I would have to drive 3 hours instead. All I got was "sorry for the inconvenience blame contractors etc. This is not acceptable and I note from previous reviews that renovations have been ongoing for a while. I did not look at these when I booked nor should I have to when my booking was confirmed. This falls way below the standard of Best Western hotel service and I do not intend to use them again. I said to Carlos that it would spoil my weekend and it did. The romantice weekend away, the first in 3 years, did not happen. I had to drive, not drink etc etc. Carlos I found your excuses to be insincere, patronising and completly lacking in empathy and any customer service. Why I was advised in such short tilme is beyond me and if you and your team cannot manage you own contractors that speaks volumes. No offer of trying to find alternative accomodation nor offer in fact of any help whatsoever. No customer service at all.
this is the place to stay if you want to pay high prices to stay in a run down, shabby out dated hotel. You are greeted at the entrance with skips full of filthy old mattresses', window frames and general debris, old sofas sit on the edge of the car park. The hotel has rooms which are not clean nor effective? Air conditioning does not work and shower heads hang from the wall, its a mess! There is no restaurant or hot food - don't be misguided by the pictures! breakfast is actually in a brown bag - a very expensive brown bag.
This is all backed up with no manager on site and a customer service team who just don't want to listen.
I’ve stayed here twice, once during the second lockdown where there clearly had to be heavy restrictions in place, the second in Apr 22 and I was astonished to find that a) the restaurant was not open and b) still brekky out of a brown paper bag!
Apart from this, the shower was totally non-functional and it looked like the decorators were in as there was polythene stuck to the carpets - ripped in places up the main stairs!
Room was clean which was a bonus.
As I said …. what’s it all about, I’m sure the health club is great, suggest the hotel is bulldozed, leave the health club!
There was no baby cot, but on the Expedia site I put that the child was under 1. I was informed that this was your fault.
Unfortunately the hotel is being refurbished but remains open. Shower didn't work properly, didn't work this out until 0630 and it was too late to complain. Staff were lovely and doing the best they could. Was worried by the presence of a security guard, this was compounded by the reception door glass being smashed.
The restaurant was closed as well, this was not noted when I booked and was a total disappointment.
Air conditioning was hanging off the wall.
This will be a lovely hotel again once the refurb is finished, however, for now it is rather disappointing.
Hotel was ok it was a bit a tired however work was going on. It was a shame the restaurant was shut. The receptionist was very helpful
We wanted a hotel close to a friends birthday party and, having stayed at many Best Western's before we booked this one thinking that it would be the same standard.
I wish I had taken the time to look at the tripadvisor reviews because it would appear that they have received feedback about cleanliness before.
We didn't check the room thoroughly before leaving for our night out but at best it appeared dated. The following morning I dropped my phone and when I went to pick it up I found a used condom on the floor in the corner.
I thought I'd submit a complaint before taking to social media and review sites to see their response and whether they made any attempt to put things right - basically they'll tell their cleaners so it doesn't happen again. It would appear that they have a stock answer to all poor feedback as my acknowledgement was almost identical to their responses to the previous reviews. They even tried to tell me that Best Western were among the first in the industry to roll out standards and best practices to enhance our cleaning protocols at the start of COVID-19. Our hotel prides itself on embracing BWH Hotel Group’s We Care Clean™ initiative, and our trained staff are committed to ensuring the highest cleanliness standards recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.
lovely reception lady, room spotless, free parking, very helpfull staff,
Why is the property available to be booked online during the night if there isn’t anyone there to check in guests? You should close your property online between 11pm to 7am like many other properties do! Very disappointed when I booked, paid online and when arrived, no one there to check me in. And the funniest part is that the property claim to have 24h room service. Another lie, otherwise I would have been checked in.
For the price it was disappointing , paper cups accompanying the kettle , extemly basic , and was told we didn’t have to be in by any certain time as security was on the front desk all night after 11pm to let us in. We were stuck out in the cold for half an hour trying to arouse the security (very obviously sleeping ) ring the doorbell banging on the door then having to ring the hotel , no answer but we could hear it ringing from outside, we were left standing thinking how were we going to get in, then emerged the security from the back , opened the door and didn’t even speak one word to us, how rude as we had been stuck outside in the cold for 30mins , would not choose here again
If you're wanting to pay a premium rate for what is essentially a run down homeless shelter then this is the place to stay! Security everywhere to ensure the safety of those paying £128 per night!
Room was outdated, dirty, heater/air con unit broken, toilet seat half hanging off, water leaking from the flush handle when used.
Restaurant facilities were closed, maybe being used as a soup kitchen, but this is not the standard of hospitality you would expect when paying such a premium per night. Guest should be advised before booking that this hotel is being used as a shelter and should certainly not be charging such a price. Massively disappointing stay
Below standard especially for the price. Room was spacious but not the best I have stayed in. The restaurant is not open for breakfast or evening meal, if you have booked B&B you get presented with a small brown bag with a cereal bar, apple, prepackaged croissant and a carton of orange juice. I was woken on numerous occasions by other people’s doors banging closed and there was quite a lot of road noise. I will not be returning, the only good thing was a large car park.
Stayed here previously when visiting Waddesdon Manor as handy location. Large bed room and comfortable bed adequate bathroom and all clean. However, no bar or restaurant facilities. Only 5 vehicles in car park whilst local Premier Inn is packed. I wonder why?
We stayed here three years ago and it was convenient and satisfactory.
This time no restaurant facilities so had to look elsewhere to eat.
Room was ok bed quite comfortable but tea/coffee facilities a bit sparse and paper cups a first.
To be honest the hotel is quite tired and needs refurbising to keep up with standards required these days.
The staff were very friendly and courteous
I booked this hotel as I had an unexpected stay over in Aylesbury and it cost me £137.75. On first inspection the room looked spacious and clean……however!
The toilet seat did not fit the toilet and the sink was dirty and cracked. There was a towel radiator installed that is switched on via the room light switches and the wiring near the floor looked suspect to me. The shower head was filthy and there was no way I would use it.
The room itself was very cold with a small plug in electric heater against the wall. The bed itself was quite possibly the hardest mattress I have even slept on, skin to sleeping on a lumpy concrete pad. The air con was faulty and this flashed fault codes every half second illuminating the room in an annoying green glow. The control panel was broken rendering it useless. The clock provided was also 7hrs and 20 mins out of time.
The following morning I opened the curtains and discovered what looked suspiciously like human poo on the net curtain.
A very uncomfortable night indeed and not one I would be willing to repeat……I skipped the breakfast offer!
Old out of date no restaurant or bar. Very noisy road. Bathroom toilet seat loose rusty stains running down the wall from toilet handle. Wash basin badly cracked with age. Net curtains dirty. Bed and pillows very very hard.
Expensive for such out of date hotel
Cleanliness is of little consequence when you have been woken up in the early hours of the morning by a violent drunk who had fought past the security guards in a vain attempt to get more alcohol and was hammering on guest's doors until calmed down by security. The broken glass door is a reminder of this violent incident. We had paid in advance for 3 night's but left after 2 , the receptionist not even bothering to ask why, far less offering a refund. No restaurant , no bar, a shabby room , a broken hairdryer (and no replacement available from reception) and all of this for ONLY £115 per night. We will dine out on this dreadful experience at every possible opportunity and have vowed never ever to stay at any Best Western "hotel" in future.
