Mercure Hotel Köln Belfortstraße

Very comfortable and only about 15-20 minutes walk from Köln city centre, so quieter

staff at reception was friendly, check in easy and very quick, location versitile (close to where my convention was but also very close to the train station - airport about half an hour...) rooms are average but ok, walls a little thin big flat screen for those who watch tv (didnt have the time) - close to the river...

Hotel was a good 15/30 minute walk from the Old Town. Swimming pool was good, but unheard. There was no housekeeping during our three days there but that was not a problem

Stayed here for 4 nights on a special trip with siblings. Booked months in advance so got a good rate. Booked room only as we were unsure about our itenery. Our initial reaction when told about price of breakfast was that it was expensive. However our fears were allayed after breakfast on day one. Exceptional range of food and beverage on offer. We were very pleased with our choice of Hotel. Rooms were spotlessly clean and well serviced. Staff at reception were friendly and accommodating.. indeed staff throughout the hotel were so good and special word of praise to Tamara and Michael in the bar restaurant for their attention. We ended up finishing our days each evening in the bar for that reason. Hotel is well located for public transport even though we didn't use it as we preferred to walk and explore with the cathedral and river easily accessible on foot A very enjoyable visit to lovely Colonge enhanced by our experience at this hotel tp

Room was nice, and check in was smooth. I like that filtered water was available with refillable bottles able to be taken to rooms. Breakfast was a little disappointing with the scrambled eggs being overcooked on both days. Overall satisfactory for where i needed to go to during the trip

Nice hotel in quiet neighborhood. Convenient for us to visit our daughter who lives nearby. Good value for money.

It was clean and the desk staff were polite and friendly. Would be nice if there was an alternative blanket to the duvet as my husband found the duvet to be too warm.

Our stay was extremely disappointing and highly unsafe, particularly for families. Around 3:00 AM, we were repeatedly disturbed by drunk guys knocking aggressively on our door and running away. Reception was unreachable, leaving us isolated and vulnerable in the annex building. Furthermore, the bathroom slab dangerously collapsed while our toddlers were bathing, narrowly avoiding injury. This experience highlighted severe security and safety failures, making the hotel highly unsuitable and unsafe for families with young children. Immediate attention and significant improvements are urgently required to prevent such distressing situations in the future.

Overall good experience

Clean and good size rooms. However they close on the 23rd of Dec after 12 noon so we could not leave our luggage as we had a later train and we were not aware of this. Sumptuous breakfast spread.

The staff was polite.

I booked this hotel because of the spa. The spa wasn’t available. Due to renovation. Therefore the spa should have been removed from the facilities

Parking was 24€ per day and breakfast was also roughly 24€ per person so even though the price for the stay was reasonable, the after costs were relative to a more expensive hotel, closer to the cathedral.

It was a nice hotel though and staff were really nice! We would stay closer to the Cathedral next time because there were more food options closer and walking back was a bit tiring after a long day out. Al

Great clean, modern hotel. It is a bit off the beaten path, but there's a train station a couple of blocks away that takes you to the Hauptbahnhof, so very convenient. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in a long time.

Pleasant comfortable hotel in a quiet location. It's well within walking distance of the main railway station, though the residential area seems a bit unlikely at first. We were in the main part of the hotel, rather than the annexe across the road. Staff we came across were pleasant, and the bar (free drink courtesy of Accor membership!) was cosy and well-stocked even if the view of the car park was uninspiring. However, the view from the bedroom we had was good.
The bedroom has sufficient storage for a couple of days' stay. Would have appreciated a drawer or two for smalls. As is usual, there was nowhere in the bathroom to put your toiletries bag, and nowhere to hang your clothes should you want to get dressed in the bathroom. Why not a hook on the back of the door?? The heated towel rail was appreciated though. Loved the smell of the shower gel and hand soap.

Great breakfast options and friendly staff!

We just arrived to the hotel and we got the most rude receptionist. She explained something to my BF and he translated and when I asked her something she replied "why you didnt listen to what i just said?"
Well, i dont speak german i asked you in English and you replied with german. I dont appreciate this attitude!

A lovely clean and comfortable hotel in a quiet area but still close to the city centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The fridge in the room was useful.
