Not as nice as we were expecting
Pros:

In a good location

Cons:

Very run down needs attention .
Was not that clean , stains on carpet.
Heating wasn’t working. Was provided with a portable heater.
Had to wait over an hour for our food being only us and another table in the restaurant.When it did arrive it was very nice.

As it was a busy weekend I was unable to book a double room for the two consecutive nights that we were staying at the hotel and so had to book a separate upgraded room for the second night out our stay. On arrival I was asked if I had called ahead to discuss this, which I hadn't and then told I would need to check out of our current room and then check in the following day to our other room. This was a bit inconvenient as we had an early start but understandable.
We had dinner at the hotel - whereby the food took over an hour to arrive despite booking a table at a quieter time, and some items of our order were late to be brought out so we were there for nearly 2 hours before we had finished.

The next morning, we left the room early and moved our things into the car the morning of our leave. We had had a poor nights sleep from an uncomfortable bed and lots of noise outside.

Upon checking in after a long day, we were told we were checking in to the original room we had checked out of that morning. Confused, I explained the above. Despite being fully booked, our room had been given to someone else and despite paying more for the second room I could not request a refund of the difference. We were offered food vouchers to recompense us but decided to wait for a refund. Upon returning to our room it had not been cleaned with our previous towels still in the room, bins full and the sides dirty. This was such a shame as we were so tired from the day and the poor sleep the night before but did not have a choice but to stay.

Again we stayed, had a poor sleep and checked out the next morning.

Despite being assured we would get a refund, we are now 10 days later and had no update on this from either the hotel or booking.com.

It's very disappointing as the staff had been very reassuring and understanding that this would be resolved, particularly as they had been a little abrupt about me not calling in advance to let them know I had booked two rooms.

Lovely stay
Pros:

Beautiful surroundings, lovely evening meal, and staff were welcoming and helpful.

Cons:

Very noisy bathroom fan. Bed was too hard for my comfort. No USB ports in the room.

Enjoyed it and the surroundings
Pros:

Rooms very good and clean. Dinner on the first night was very good and the staff were excellent, and very helpful.

Cons:

Shower over the bath, a shower on its own would have been better. Especially for my Mother who could not get into the bath to have a shower, as she was at time of visit 92.

Pros:

Everything was very pleasant Great stay.

Cons:

What was a bit strange was we were told that they couldn't take our food order as they were too busy in the kitchen and could we come back in half an hour. Not sure why they could take our order and say it would be a 45 minute wait? We were guests in the hotel we weren't going to disappear - never experienced that in a hotel before.

Was a cheap night for a reason. Not good for disabled guests

Cons:

It was difficult to park. Car park was full and spaces not clearly marked so cars all parked at different angles not leaving enough gaps. We have a blue badge think therr were only a couple of bays already taken. Definitly need more for the number of rooms.
Booked accessible room due to being a wheelchair user. Not sure if it had been left unused for a while or just not cleaned properly but very dusty and cobwebs.
Bathroom needs adjusting for disabled guests. It is a wet room but when sat on shower stool could not reach the shower gel its attached to the wall too high up and far away. The shower hose was left as high as it could be too so couldnt reach to lower it. Nothing to stop shower water from drenching the floor, no mop left so after using shower left with a very wet floor when needing to use the toilet.
Window frames are filthy and all paint is flaking off.

Pros:

Staff extremely charming and helpful, especially receptionist and evening waiters

Cons:

Room was small and cluttered. Poor view out of window. Chilly although heating did warm up later. Corridor windows were left open and couldn't be closed. Duvet cover stained. Lights worked intermittently.

Beautiful hotel, magnificent bathroom and the bedroom area was very roomy!
Pros:

The room was bigger than expected. The bathroom was astounding. The furnishings were great. The only thing I can be a little negative with is that the sofa bed was very uncomfortable, it tilted backwards and the springs dug in my body, that said, it didn’t spoil my stay the surroundings were beautiful and I’d love to return.

All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
Pros:

The staff were excellent. Especially the front of house lady called Nadene. She went above and beyond to help me and it was very much appreciated. The hotel was friendly, clean and in a lovely setting.
