Breakfast was good, pizza in the wood shed was good, tenants lager was flat but the porretti was nice. Rooms are needing a freshen up but overall the hotels nice overall. The girls in the fun house were great with our little girl.
Reasonable price for modern hotel with lots of amenities.
Checking procedure lengthy , arrived at 2.45 , checking opened at 3 massive queue, personally I got checked in at 4.30 pm
Pet friendly. Tired looking hotel with threadbare carpets. Check in took over 45 minutes. Massive queue. Pool and gym looked good. Bar area was comfortable.
Didn’t eat in the hotel due to reviews we’d read. Taxi into Aviemore and back was inexpensive.
Very last minute booking so arrived very late, but the staff were very accommodating - facilities looked excellent for kids
Dogs and screaming weins everywhere , folk coming back to there room at 2/3 am screaming in corridors drunk - bed was awful lumpy and poorly constructed
This hotel looks great online but we were very disappointed in the standard. Rooms are very tired - a rickety bunk bed and the noise of the wooden side moving in its slots kept me awake (in the other room) - we had to wedge cardboard in there to stop it moving. Both children told me they were uncomfortable in bed. The adult bed was also uncomfortable - with a mattress of that stopped short of the edge so one was sleeping on an uncomfortable line. The lighting in the main bedroom was poor and one of the lights over a bunk bed was broken - missing its cover.
The leisure facilities are not open all day. I do not recall seeing online when booking that the pool is closed between 1030 and 3.30pm. In our last morning we went down for a swim and were told we could not get in as the pools were full (30 people capacity across 2 swimming pools). My children were hugely disappointed. It ruined my birthday morning. Also pool towels cost £1 each to rent - I’ve never stayed in a hotel that charges for pool towels.
The fun zone soft play is not included - it was £13 for 2 kids and an adult.
There is no housekeeping.
The children did enjoy the park area. Staff were pleasant enough.
We did not eat at the hotel.
Sad to see how this hotel has become so run down with lack of investment. I cannot recommend this place and will not stay here again.
Was very busy on arrival. But when dealt with was quick and very efficient. Room was amazing and the staff friendly and cheery
never had a bed so bad since my days in yourth hostels. far away from a relaxing night
Poor service, filthy room.
Very cheerful and friendly staff.
Nice dinner salad bar and breakfast buffet. Disappointing dinner buffet. Macaroni cheese or vegetable lasagne, veg curry/veg meatballs woujd have been great!
Pet-friendly. Welcoming arrival. Lovely bar and lounge area. Our bedroom was very basic and dated. It was clean but in poor condition which let down our whole experience there. The entertainment was very good so was the food. The only negative service we had was the man at the coffee kiosk. He was unhappy to serve us and took a very long time to come. the person on reception had to call him through to serve us.
For families this is very well suited.
Both the room and the bathroom were clean. Beds were comfy enough for a 1 night stay. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Interior of the hotel and rooms are a bit dated though if that's something that will bother you. Otherwise a great stay in a good location.
Just avoid it!
They cater for dogs, I'm NOT a dog person!
I lodged a complaint about the hotel, it was that bad.
There's naff all to do in Aviemore, it's just a small and cute village for tourists!
Go to Inverness, there's a lot more to do there and it's only 30 miles away!
Pleasant staff ,good location , nice food choice
The room and the toilet was smelly.Very basic room.
A lovely fabulous stay. Wonderful sauna and swimming pool…..!
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. When we were booking the hotel, we knew it had swimming pool and other amenities and it looked great on the photos. The opinions were mixed and honestly I don't know why, the room was clean, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the dining was delicious! We were amazed by the amount of thing happening in and around the hotel, and the actual amount of facilities the hotel provides. We will definately be back to make the full use of the facilities! Can't wait!
A very old and outdated hotel with poor service, lots of hidden costs, below average food, no lifts or help offered with luggages. Terrible dinner menu if you're opting to half-board here and prices for additional items and hidden costs are through the roof.
Their double beds are insultingly small (smaller than queen size) and calling the reception / room service from the rooms doesn't work because the phones are not connected properly. Door locks and key cards are so old that they constantly need to be taken back into reception to be fixed.
Parking is a nightmare as there is never space out in front of the hotel, so if you are carrying a lot of luggage or heavy suitcases, you'll struggle to drag it through the gravelly car parks and up the flights of extremely old stairs.
They kicked up a fuss because we wanted some plates and cutlery to have our takeaway food inside our rooms and because we wanted to eat some light snacks purchased from our travels in the common bar area even though we had purchased food from there as well.
When going to the pool, they questioned my wife on what kind of swimming costume she is planning on wearing into the pool because of hygiene reasons. We felt racially discriminated against at this hotel due to the above reasons.
Would not recommend, there are better alternatives in this area or in the nearby towns of Aviemore and Kingussie.
Overall its a nice place to stay however, it took me three trips to reception after check-in to get into my room as the supplied keycards didnt work. There was also no coffee in the room which was quickly replenished after a call to reception. The breakfast is pretty good and the staff are pleasant and helpful.
