We stayed for one night and took advantage of one of the winter deals. The reception staff were very welcoming, The room was well furnished and equipped and was immaculately clean. The bed was really comfortable and I got a great nights sleep. The meal was exceptionally good. It was all freshly cooked and beautifully presented. We had the scallops, ox cheek and cod, followed by plum tart tartin. The restaurant and bar staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. There was also a great selection of freshly cooked food for breakfast. The view of the river from the dining room is stunning. I went for a swim the following morning before we left because it was pouring with rain, but the grounds are stunning and you can walk through giant trees alongside the river from the hotel. There are also loads of local walks and things to do, even in the winter. I can highly recommend Dunkeld House Hotel for a high quality, relaxing stay, whatever the weather.
Really nice hotel set in lovely grounds and close to the river Tay. We would stay here again if the hotel was offering good offers season rates.
Most people would be choosing to book for a celebration. I wanted somewhere to relax to help me process grief after my Dad passed away a few weeks ago.
My one night stay was the perfect 'escape' I needed.
I made good use of the pool and spa which was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel.
Spent one night here for DBB and had a lovely time. Due to recovering from an operation had a few requests for the hotel and all met without any issues and in fact went above and beyond to help. Ground floor room 16 with walk-in in shower and view to the front of the hotel and river. Made use of the pool facilities which as per previous visits were very good and again staff helped make things easier for us. Enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal (in the bar area as opposed to restaurant) table set up no problem at all and the staff were super attentive and friendly. Breakfast was again lovely and table reserved with less walking for us without us asking. Special thanks to Birnam who brought the food to the table for us - again above and beyond and very much appreciated as saved trying to carry using a walking stick. Hope to come back again in the summer for a longer stay and be able to enjoy walking in the area.
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay in amazing grounds. Beautiful to be by The Tay and very convenient to walk into Dunkeld for local services. Great base for visiting Loch Tay, Pitlochry and further to Aviemore. The hotel is a grand house with a 17m pool, great for swimming and spa. The gym has basic equipment for fitness, but equipment needs updating. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and hard working. Have breakfast overlooking The Tay. Very enjoyable stay.
Dinner at the hotel was exceptionally good.
The dining area had a good buzz about it. The service was great.
Callum looked after us from start to finish. His knowledge of the food on offer and the wines that would complement our meals was second to none.
The mains we had were a Lamb dish and a Hake dish. Both were excellent, I have never tasted lamb cooked so beautifully, well done chef.
A great dining experience and a lovely way to celebrate a birthday.
Our stay was made special by every member of the hotel team. The room was comfortable with a stunning view of the river and surrounding countryside. The leisure club has been improved with the refitted sauna, the only improvement would be to update the gym equipment. Overall a very enjoyable, value for money stay.
Went here for a midweek break for my 50th birthday after hearing great things about it and was delighted by the whole experience. Room was lovely and cosy and the beds and gift bags for the dogs was a lovely touch. Staff were super friendly and welcoming in a very genuine way. Food was lovely. Bar staff were great and the cocktails were lovely. Spa is great and we had a very relaxing massage. Hotel staff kindly arranged an early check in so we could make our spa treatment (Housekeeping staff, Mike?). The ground staff were letting us know about great walking routes. The grounds of the hotel are an absolute delight. Can’t wait to return.
Love this hotel. Staff are very welcoming, helpful and professional. Food is very good quality and all diets catered for. Beautifully appointed rooms, great cleaning staff and super room service. Plenty of parking, beautiful grounds and gentle walks enjoyed by all ages. Pool was a hit with the children and adults. Would recommend.
Excellent Reception staff and welcome. Hard working restaurant staff but food disappointing and expensive. Room was fine but very hot. Bed fine but neither of us slept well. Room and corridor carpets very worn giving an air of tiredness.
THis was our sixthe visit to this wonderful tayside hotel just a 20 minute beautiful riverside walk into pretty Dunkeld village. The Hogmanay package is excellent including a generous champagne reception, a delicious five course meal and a wonderful cealidh band to bring in the New Year, heralded by Tom the piper. All very enjoyable! We will be booking again for next year!
Staff nice and helpful but quality of facilities for guests low very many things currently broken, or out of order. Very disappointed
We had an amazing time. Loved every minute. Excellent staff, so friendly and professional. Hotel and rooms immaculate. Food amazing. Grounds beautiful.
Wonderful Scottish hospitality in this beautiful hotel, a perfect size to be friendly and personable, beautifully decorated with great service all round from smartly dressed and professional staff.
A well appointed hotel with friendly attentive staff set in exceptional riverside surroundings. Our room was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and with very comfortable bedding. A much appreciated extra was the impressive playing of the hotel's pianist in the bar/lounge area.
The staff at the Dunkeld were excellent , accommodating us and keeping our surprise visit to meet friends a secret for Hogmanay. Truly wonderful. The scenery and setting is fantastic and amazing walks nearby
My wife and I booked a last minute stay to celebrate her birthday. The hotel is beautiful, great food and very professional and friendly staff. The food, although great is getting expensive but still enjoyable
On arrival met with courteous receptionist and porter offered to take luggage to room if needed. Room of standard we expected and even better. Bar and restaurant staff always willing to help. Hotel building and grounds set in a beautiful area and great for walks. Also has spa, gym and pool.
This beautiful hotel in stunning setting was first choice for our girls retreat. The spa staff and experience was tremendous. However our experience of the bar staff tarnished our stay because service was poor and the manner in which we were treated did not match our expectations of such a high end hotel.
I couldn't recommend Dunkeld House Hotel more as a wedding venue. From our very first visit and tour, to food and wine tasting and finally the actual wedding day everyone at Dunkeld were absolutely amazing and helped us in every possible way they could.
Natasha was the most amazing coordinator we could have ever asked for, entertained everyone of our ideas, was available in person and via Zoom calls whenever we needed. She was the perfect mix of kind, funny, professional and serious you need to manage the most important day in peoples lives.
The whole day went perfectly and we did so little as the Dunkeld team handled everything so perfectly. Natasha, Callum and Nell on the day were amazing running around sorting, organising and ensuring everyone was where they should be and again always happy to help with a smile and a laugh.
Maisie and Katie behind the bar added to the amazing night, and were lovely throughout the night and even chased down weird drink requests from the main hotel when asked.
If you are considering getting married at Dunkeld, and the beautiful hotel and location for some reason aren't enough, then please be aware the whole team will make it the best day ever.
I can't thank everyone enough for what they created for us. But you have made fans for life in us and I look forward to our many visits in the future.
Thank you
