Holiday Inn, YOU NEED SOME STAFF

Cleanliness was excellent and room facilities were good when we could finally enter.

Cons:

Inflated prices, no doubt due to a concert at Hampden Park.
Management need to invest in more staff. We arrived at 4pm to be told by reception our room wasn't ready checkin was from 15:00, asked to wait in the bar and they would tell us when, they didn't!
There were dozens of people whose rooms weren't ready until after 17:00, we all expected to be on our way to Hampden by then.
Consequently everyone missed the opening act.
Returned approx 11pm and the bar was still open for residents, again no extra staff to run it. Poor man was trying to serve drinks and food take payment keep the bar stocked on his own!
Poor experience for your customers, and how can you treat your loyal staff like that?

Our stay was disappointing
Pros:

Our stay was disappointing overall. We booked this hotel well in advance because we were attending the Metallica concert and specifically requested a room with two single beds, as I was travelling with my 19-year-old son.
When we arrived around midnight, we found that the room had only one double bed. I went to reception, where I was told there were no twin rooms available, but the receptionist assured me that an extra bed would be brought to our room. We waited until 1 a.m., but no one ever came. In the end, I had no choice but to share the bed with my adult son, which was both awkward and uncomfortable.
The cleanliness of the room also left much to be desired. There were short black hairs, which looked like pet hair, on the duvet, the bed linen had visible washed-in stains, and there were hairs from previous guests on the bathroom floor.
At breakfast, the coffee machine didn't work properly. Regardless of the drink selected, it only dispensed black Americano coffee.
On the positive side, the breakfast itself was varied and enjoyable, and we appreciated the leisure facilities, including the swimming pool, jacuzzi, and gym.
Unfortunately, the issues with the room allocation, cleanliness, and lack of follow-through from the staff significantly affected our stay.

The staff where very helpful with everything you could not fault them.the bedroom was comfortable. And lesuire centre was really good

very good, with helpful friendly staff, comfy warm and spacious room.
Pros:

The room was very spacious and well maintained, the bathroom was very nice with a lovely shower area, no bath, but that is ok I guess.

Cons:

I did find the public toilets and the gym changing room toilets were quite messy - why can't people seem to flush the toilet?
More expensive than I wanted to pay, apparently because of a Take That concert locally, very unfair that everyone/anyone has to pay more because of something that is totally unrelated to my/peoples stay.

I would stay again but not eat
Pros:

The pool area, the bar area is nice & welcoming. Staff are nice, room warm

Cons:

We had bought a package with evening meal and breakfast. The food was awful! We didn’t eat it and returned 80% of it. The hotel receptionist was very helpful and refunded us what we paid for the food.

Cons:

I paid cash In full then I was told they cash I paid was not in full. So they took about over £40 extra from me at that time when I gave cash I always check I even told the staff to make sure everything was okay.. she said everything is fine enjoy your stay and after few hours she said I didn’t pay her in full and start getting other staff involved start calling me saying I still haven’t paid in full. Was so disappointed and felt I was being scammed. Never had this experience from holiday inn the staff always been great and so kind. I asked them to show me video footage and they refused to show me any footage. Would never go back again.
