Facilities good, room very poor for reason stated above.
Pros:

Facilities and location.

Cons:

Room had really bad smell of foist and smoke, was so bad struggled to sleep. Did not have time to mention in morning as left at 5.00am to catch a flight, very expensive for what we got.

The Sink in my room would take approx 10/+2 minutes to empty thus causing discomfort.
Pros:

No breakfast buffet .Some lame excuse offered.

Cons:

Being asked at 2p.m. for an EXTRA £10 for a 1 hour earlelier checking.
This to me SCREAMS bad, poor, mean lack of care for the guest.
It SCREAMS at me YOU ARE NOT WELCOME....WE WANT MORE MONEY FROM YOU.

Great location for Restaurants and Shops in St Helens - First Class Customer Service
Pros:

I checked into The Mercure Hotel on Thursday 30th April; parked my car in their car park. Checked in at Reception and received 2 keys for my Suite #114. Booked a table for 1 in the 92 Restaurant for 6pm. Suite was very large and comfortable. HVAC system wasn't working properly. When I went down for my evening meal told the Receptionist about the HVAC system; he kindly arranged for a table fan to be delivered to my Suite. I had a lovely meal & drinks in the 92 Restaurant and had breakfast there every morning - Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Great variety of food and drinks.

Cons:

Nothing could have been done better. My Suite had 2 TVs - a large one in the lounge area and a smaller one in the bedroom area. The TV in the bedroom area was "quite dark" on the screen. I watched Emmerdale and Coronation Street on the large TV.

Good quality hotel close to Brewdog Stadium and the town centre.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Good breakfast.

Cons:

Getting back to my room late in the evening, the room temperature was 28 degrees. It took over an hour on "high fan" to get it down to something bearable.

Das Hotel ist einfach in die Jahre gekommen. Man fühlt sich dort nicht wohl. Die Realität hat nicht den Fotos entsprochen. Auf mehrmalige Nachfrage wurde mir bis heute noch keine Rechnung geschickt.
