After a number of stays at Hampton Inns, we found this one a disappointment. We had requested an accessible room as one person needed the grab bars in the bathroom. We were given a room for a hearing impaired person which did not fit her needs. The hotel did give us a discount, but if a room for someone with physical limitations was not available, we should have been told that when the reservation was made. There were also insects crawling up the sink drain and a used Q tip on the bathroom floor. The pool was also closed.
Shout out to John, who handled the breakfast buffet. He was very friendly and efficient and went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were met. Thanks John!! Location could not have been more convenient. PS: don't miss a stop at The Uranus Fudge Factory.
The beds were ok, but i pd. For 2 queen beds and got 2 full size. There was a big hole in the carpeting and their was no phone in the room. When we asked for one the hirl was on her cell phone and didn’t even look up. She just said, ill put in a maintenance order tomorrow. Well we were leaving in the morning. I was very dossapointed on the condition of the room.
After informing Hilton Corp. last Saturday; no response 3 days later.
Interesting to note: after the Murfreesboro visit we spent 3 nights in Anderson, Indiana. We found it worse than the Murfreesboro property. Me and another guest were discussing this late one evening at the reception desk. He was complaining how bad the property was. I was telling him about our experience. No one was at the desk. I knocked on the counter and she immediately appeared. I knew she heard our conversation. Subsequently I never received an evaluation e/mail from this hotel. This was so bad I even took pictures.
No recognition of Diamond status or offer of water or snack. I had to ask. When we received the snacks, the best buy date was several months past.
Weeds growing up high around the perimeter of the property. The grass was cut.
Orange danger cones on top of every drain in the parking lot. Makes you feel like your car will drop in if driven over.
Shower curtain rod coming out of the wall on the front end (Room 322). Could not keep the curtain closed; allowing water to splash on floor.
Pink bacteria growing around top of hand rail. Scum built up on top of hand rail brace.
Tub floor stained.
Shower head so high on wall short folks cannot even adjust.
No ice on 2nd, 3rd or 4th floors. No vending anywhere. Drink machine on 1st floor unlocked with the lever screwed out. Ice machine on 1st floor had drain floor removed and placed on the floor.
The fire alarm sounded at 1 a.m. one night. Was told in lobby that it was a false alarm. When we returned earlier that night we noticed an alarm company truck (parked by the way in a Diamond reserved spot) in the parking lot.
I think you should either eliminate the spots or develop a plan to control access to these spots. They are always full. Maybe attach a placard stating this spot already reserved for a registered guest. When making a reservation you could state to Diamond members that one is available or unavailable.
I have pictures of some this if you need them. We will be looking at other Hilton properties during our travel home. We are seeing far too many problems with Hampton.
The first room we checked in, the fridge, TV, and phone were dead. We were moved to another room. The new room's shower curtain has mildew and the curtain rod is not level. The shower curtain slides open as we shower. The bathroom door (the wood panel) was sticky. Breakfast items were very limited. I do not plan to stay at the Anderson Hmapton Inn again.
Air conditioning did not work
The chairs in the lobby were sticky, the elevator was filthy. The shower had red mold around the handles. The room looked like it was last updated in 1976. It cost me over $400 to stay two nights in this dump. In SERIOUS need of repairs and cleaning. The only bright spot was the nice guy at the front desk during the day. For the cost? This place should be a LOT nicer.
Very courteous staff and close to Ruoff Music venue
Worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at, half the lights in the room did not work. The smoke detector was hanging by its wires in the room, asked to get light in bathroom fixed for days and never happened. The parking lot had not been picked up for trash in I don’t know how long, the soap dishes in the shower had paint falling off them both and the shower head barely worked.
Was not happy the pool wasn't in service and the pop and ice machines on our floor were out of service. The parking lot and yard area could use some updating.
Upon arrival needed to use the restroom. Mens in the lobby is out of order. The pool is closed for repair. We get to the room, 4 lights don't work, 3 are missing. The Jacuzzi tub in the room has the knobs off with a sign sorry, out of service. 4 ice machines in the building, 3 are out of order. This hotel is not up to standards. I can't believe that Hilton allows it.
The hotel staff was super helpful from the moment we walked in. Helped us get some clerical errors fixed and even gave us some tips on where to eat locally. Would definitely stay here again.
Expedia advertised the room as being a whirlpool room but a sign was on the tub stating it was not working, The vanity light did not work, ice machine and vending machine was not working, juice machine was not cooling juice.
We were in town for a family wedding. One of our relatives had to move to a different room because water was leaking in their room. One end of the fourth floor and a few rooms on the third floor were closed off because of water leakage. The water leakage caused the fire alarm to go off early the next morning, but the fire alarm did not go off in our nephew's room. After we had all (except our nephew and his family) been standing outside in the rain for 15 minutes, a hotel employee came out and told us that she was now going to call the fire department. The staff had decided to first walk through all the floors to look for a problem before calling the fire department. The fire truck arrived 10 minutes later and after about five minutes, the firemen came out and told us it was safe to go back in.
Also the pool was closed for maintenance the whole weekend, the air conditioning did not work well in some rooms and but worked too well in our room. Aside from those problems, the room was clean, the breakfast was good and the employees were friendly. Generally we have been very happy with Hampton Inns in the past, so this was disappointing.
the tv did not work, and when i went to call the front desk, the phone didnt work either. Front desk clerk couldnt help.
after showering the next morning...NO hair dryer.
Asked new front desk person to comp one of our two nights, would not. Calls and emails to hotel manager unanswered.
Hampton Inn used to be a clean, quality mid-priced hotel, and you could count on consistency.
NOT ANY MORE...
I generally prefer Hampton Inn but this particular location is poorly managed. It was my second stay here when working in Anderson. The breakfast service is terrible, the juice machine stays broken, no milk is put out for cereal, and I'm pretty sure the oatmeal for the second day was the same container as the first day just reheated, turning it into a sticky mess with a dried layer on top. The pool is always "under maintenance" although no one seems to be working on it. The rooms are clean but the floor of the tubs seem unstable as if the subfloor wasn't there. I will not be staying at this location again.
Great spot for quick trip to Ruoff
Stayed for a couple nights while visiting the area. Hotel is very nice, lobby looks brand new. Check in staff were beautiful, friendly and helpful with the local area. Room comfort was above average, included microwave and fridge. Bed was very comfortable, comfort level 8 out of 10. Nice bathroom area, plenty of space around sink and good lighting. Breakfast was good with all the standards. Only negative house keeping is not offered every day of your stay. We were informed of this ahead of time but it would be nice if at bare minimum the trash cans in your room be emptied and receive new towels (this would take maybe 5 minutes to do). Other than that it was a great stay!
Good location for our needs.
The location is great because there’s several places to eat and conveniently located off the highway
