Pros:

I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. There was a great variety of options, including omelets, porridge, and waffles that guests could make themselves, which was both fun and enjoyable. I also loved the 24/7 tea and coffee station — it is one of the best ideas I have ever seen in a hotel. A special thank you to Sandra at the front desk for taking the time to explain the check-in process and hotel policies so clearly. She was welcoming, professional, and very helpful.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the exterior of the hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay. As a result, we were unable to use the swimming pool and hot tub, which was disappointing since we were looking forward to enjoying those amenities.

It was a comfortable enough room space wise, but we may check out other hotels on our next stay.
Pros:

Proximity to the University where our son was competing in Judo.

Cons:

The breakfast was ok, but the food area very small and always bumping into people. The bed was very hard for our taste and left us both with sore backs. There is also major construction going on and although it was quiet on the weekend we were there, opening the curtain to see nothing but scaffolding left us feeling a little confined.

Pros:

The breakfast was very nice. I appreciated the hot items.

Cons:

It said on booking that it was under renovation, so no pool or hot tub. But I didn't expect to have a room with windows covered with tarping! It was very dark and being a bit claustrophobic it made may stay very unsettling, not being able to look outside.
The so called discounted rate I thought was still too much.

Pros:

The location and breakfast was good.

Cons:

The bed and pillows were bad, the washroom had a sliding door without any lock. There was no drinking water provided in the room and the only cooler was in the fitness room

Unsafe
Cons:

Pedestrian hellhole, the hotel is wedged between the highway and the C-train. One of the hotels next door is maybe a drug den? Lots of nefarious stuff happening in the parking lot at night. Not safe to walk around after dark.

Location warning: this hotel claims to be in the University District. IT IS NOT. It’s not even university-adjacent.
Pros:

Location warning: this hotel claims to be in the University District. IT IS NOT. It’s not even university-adjacent. It’s at least a 30-minute walk to campus. I didn’t especially care about the exterior renovations. The inside needs some TLC - tattered carpet in the hallways, bubbling paint in the bathroom, and only one working electrical outlet that wasn’t already in use. There’s a phone charging pad on the tiny nightstand, and it worked… sometimes. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast options reasonable, although a little less wasteful packaging would be nice. Weirdest tv remote ever.
