If it was not for the rooms smelling of a burnt cigarette, the overall experience was okay.
Saddest part is their SPA, the sauna room looks too dilapidated and haunted, the chill pool needs a good cleaning.
Of course Mr. Rati Ram the most sweetest person to wait for you while you are taking your time.
Its peaceful hotel and not too far from the airport.

The property is well managed and maintained from the outside.
The rooms are dated the fixtures, phones, plugs , toilet holder were not working or loose.
Location, view of the garden from hotel window, breakfast, cleanlness were very good.
Did not feel welcome as we checked in. The staff at the reception were immature and lacked in training. The machine for payment did not accept foreign credit card.
Lack of cooperation and polite communication between staff were visible. Which created a negative atmosphere at the reception counter.
main person in the counter blamed our credit card and asked if we had sufficient funds in our bank when the hotel card machine did not work.
We spent time and money to talk to our bank at length only to find later that the problem was at the hotel end.
Quality of reception at check in was poor and off- putting.
The agreement was to pay while checking out. However, we were asked to pay every two days. This was not in line with the booking agreement.
The whole payment process and the way the reception staff dealt with it in front of other customers caused us embarrassment.
This happened to other foreign customers as well. Reception was below my expectations from a reputed five star hotel.
Please take my suggestions as feedback..
(1)Water Bottles in the rooms should be replaced with Glass Bottles instead of plastic.
(2)Major issue with dim lights in the washroom,so difficult to see face properly during shaving and all.
(3)Put a magnifying glass near wash basin for proper looks while shaving and all.
I feel these things should be there in any 5 star hotel..Kindly implement it.

Rooms are in a poor condition: no hot water, cupboards falling apart, and a flush that has it's own temperament. Service during meal times was horrible, and the food got over without it being replenished.
If you're planning to host a wedding at The Grand, my recommendation is to try pretty much any other hotel in the city.

Last stay the AC was quite moldy and the room extremely smelly - I would not accept this anymore - ended up with quite some health issues - although it can also come from something else. And: BE aware, the overbook the rooms and suites for the weddings. Than the talk you into some solutions that are not okay - ever what the can call an "upgrade" might be the trial to sell you an DOWNGRADE. Do not accept - we spend one night in the presidential suite therefor - they offered us a downgrade for the whole stay and a dinner for free (ridiculous) - but this comes from the management - the front desk stuff has to fulfil their orders. Be kind to them and firm to your booking.
