It used to be perfect, it's still very nice
Pros:

The décor and themed rooms are wonderfully charming, and the location, on Madison, two blocks from the NY Public Library, is ideal. Staff is friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable.

Cons:

Unfortunately The Library is no longer the haven it once was, with wine & cheese sessions every afternoon, a delicious breakfast, pen & paper in every room and other amenities. It became more of a common hotel, except for the book theme -- and the service remains above average. Now it's a matter of comparing prices and analysing if it's still worth it to stay there.

Pros:

Tivemos uma ótima estadia em nossos dias em NY. O hotel fica muito bem localizado, tanto em relação às estações, quanto em relação a restaurantes, lojas e avenidas principais, sendo possível explorar muitos locais a pé e de transporte público.
O destaque vai também para a cordialidade de TODOS os funcionários do hotel, sem exceção.
Adoraríamos retornar em uma futura oportunidade.

Cons:

Adoramos praticamente tudo, mas há dois pontos que para nós faria diferença: no banheiro do quarto, se houvesse uma opção diferente em relação a cortina de pano, ajudaria mais a não deixar o chão tão molhado, além disso, embora a área e os alimentos e bebidas do café sempre estivessem abastecidos e ajudado na conveniência, sentimos falta de alguma variedade, principalmente nos carboidratos (pães), no mais, estava tudo muito ótimo.

Pros:

מיקום מצויין, צוות נעים, שתיה חמה ומאפים לאורך רוב שעות היום. חדר מרווח.

כבר הרבה זמן יש סביב כל המלון פיגומים ובכלל לא עובדים. כל החלונות חסומים,, הרגשה לא נעימה וחדר מאוד חשוך.

Great place to crash if your train gets in late, central location for exploring NYC
Pros:

It was quiet and low key and easy walking distance from grand central

Cons:

The reading lounge was a bit of a disappointment - it’s giving Priority Pass airport lounge, not a place I would want to curl up with a book and read. But I appreciate that they have good coffee and snacks included in the cost of your stay

Better options in Midtown
Pros:

The location was convenient.

Cons:

We found an exceedingly large cockroach in our bathroom (large enough to flummox me, a former New Yorker). In an older hotel in the city, it wasn't the roach itself that was the problem, it was how staff handled our complaint. Being simply offered bug spray is not a customer service oriented solution. We left that night for another hotel (one night into a 3 night, prepaid stay) and had to follow up in person for a proper resolution with the assistant manager the next day. Even now, still waiting for the conclusion of the resolution. With as many hotels there are in the Grand Central area, no need to stay here.

Best hotels in NyC
Pros:

Location is the best...You are close to everything going on but away from the crowds..Room service and the hotel staff is on a 5 star level......My room was very large but ask bout all the perks that come with this hotel.....

Parfait emplacement et calme assuré.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est idéal. La taille et le calme des chambres sont parfaits

Un petit bémol, deux en fait:
- nous avons bien dormi mais en prenant un King size on ne pensait pas qu’il serait aussi mou et que les mouvements d’un coté feraient bouger l’autre coté ;
- surtout je regrette l’ancien système de petit déjeuner (buffet continental au 2eme étage 12 ans en arrière ). C’était plus chaleureux, plus agréable et plus adapté à des voyageurs internationaux . Là il faut descendre tous les matins au restaurant et choisir dans une carte imposée . Le personnel est adorable mais ça enlève tout le charme et le côté cosy du 2eme étage. Du coup, autant ne pas prendre le petit dej inclus

My favorite hotel
Pros:

I’ve been there 3 times. Phenomenal staff. My only complaint was the very loud HVAC which constantly woke me up. Not sure why this was only an issue this time (compared to the other two visits).

Doesn’t change my view of the hotel. I love it there and can’t wait to come back. Would simply recommend the noisy HVaC be addressed (it was not a surprise to the front desk staff).

Our favorite!
Pros:

Our favorite small hotel in NYC! Friendly, wonderful restaurant, second floor breakfast and mid-day snack room, and roof top indoor/outdoor bar! Centrally located just off 5th Avenue. Stay there, you’ll love it.

Charming boutique hotel walking distance to Grand Central
Pros:

The reading room was lovely and charming. Great to be able to grab waters and snacks as we needed. The rooftop bar was also lovely, we went twice in three days. The staff were were helpful and the overall stay was excellent we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Cons:

Our room had a lovely view but unfortunately we couldn’t really see it due to scaffolding. This can’t be helped though, just a reality of a city like New York.

A wonderful weekend in NYC
Pros:

This is a beautiful and cozy hotel conveniently located right near Grand Central Station. We stayed for a weekend enjoying the restaurant, rooftop bar and snack room. Customer service is fantastic and the food is delicious!

Excellent Stay - Again
Pros:

Library Hotel has everything we need whenever we visit NYC: central location to mid-town Manhattan, comfortable rooms, very friendly staff, 24-hr coffee service, free waters and soft drinks, a nice continental breakfast spread, and their Bookmaker's Lounge on the rooftop/14th floor.

Very pleasant stay
Pros:

Quiet, orderly, staff and other occupants respectful, rooms clean.
We had been staying at the Midtown Hilton on a "timeshare promotion", but no rooms available for our last night. Thankfully, The Library was able to accommodate us
The Hilton was just a different, very busy hotel so it was a welcome change to experience the peaceful Library

Great Weekend Away
Pros:

Situated in a delightful part of Manhattan, where you're close to most of the things you come to Manhattan to see - but not right in the middle of the crowds - this is a quaint little hotel. Accommodating staff, and when we arrived late morning, our room was already ready. (This, of course, is not guaranteed - but was a welcome touch after a 5 am flight). The roof top bar is amazing, and even if you don't stay here, is definitely somewhere to check out to unwind.
