A perfect hotel for any book lover. We loved the spirit and atmosphere, and the location on "Library Way," near the Library and Bryant Park, allowed us to carry this theme throughout the trip. The Junior Suite is large enough for two people even if they are not a couple, and the counter space is quite generous. We also appreciated the Reading Room, available for comfortable reading or work space and complementary croissants, coffee, soft drinks, fruit, etc. at all hours -- particularly nice if one of you is an early morning person and the other is not. A very special stay.
The location is very convenient and busy. It is easy to accomplish everything, banking, shopping, Grand Central Station just one block away. Very close to Bryant Park which is always fun.
There is a very nice lounge with complementary fruit croissants and coffee
It is a quiet hotel designed for quiet adults. I did not eat at the restaurant but it looked very nice
In my first room the television didn’t work and the air-conditioning was not adequate. The front desk was very responsive to my problems and they did get them fixed by the next morning. They offered me an upgrade to make up for my inconvenience.
Todo
i’m a returning guest- it is a quiet, little, cozy gem in midtown near Grand Central
nice staff, nice rooftop bar, nice restaurant
rooms small, but very clean and neat
free coffee in the morning is very much appreciated, free softdrinks
will return next year . i love it
The staff is great. The room was clean and comfortable. Still has scaffolding blocking the views. I wish they would bring back the continental breakfast. What they offer now is slight. The restaurant breakfast isn’t great.
The library theme was perfect for booklovers! The reading room was a lovely space to snack, decompress, and meet new book-loving friends! Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was construction happening outside my room and the Front Desk was able to quickly switch me to a quieter room. Bookmarks (the bar) was also a highlight and such a vibe!
The rooms and bedding appeared a little worn and outdated.
Great location, mid-town Manhattan, a block from the famous NY public library, could see it from the room. The library theme was evident everywhere, wish I had time to delve into the many books on offer in the room and elsewhere. Nice bar at the top, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Minimal breakfast offerings but good coffee which is my main objective.
Hard to think of anything, was expensive but that's NYC. There was scaffolding around the property which detracted from the views, but was a minor issue.
Wonderful hotel! Great location. The rooms are lovely. The reading room is a wonderful amenity. Everyone who worked there was so nice. Loved the rooftop bar. The library theme is a lot of fun as was checking out the book titles in the room. Will definitely stay there again!
Everything about your place was perfect. COmfortable and quiet room. Great second floor sitting/reading/eating room was a great place to relax and recharge. Rooftop bar was fun. Location couldn't be topped for trips to library, Bryant Park, bike ride to Central Park, etc.
This hotel is my new go to spot. Outside the hotel , it is minutes away from Times Square and Madison Square Garden, where I went to watch the Knick game. Inside in the room was quiet as can be and clean as anything. The staff was friendly and very helpful.. There are a ton of food options within one block area from great steakhouses to great cafés. I highly recommend for anybody to come in work or pleasure. I will be definitely staying here in the future.
Quirky hotel with comfy beds, clean rooms and staff who cannot do enough for you.I loved the Library / lounge. The Madison Avenue location is ideal for the NYC visitor. We will be staying here next time we visit NYC.
Great service and location.
The Scoffolding on the outside
We always love staying at The Library! It always feels like coming home. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and cozy. We like eating at the restaurant and having a drink upstairs. The 2nd floor room feels like our own living room. It is an extra special touch that we can go there any time for coffee, fruit or a snack. It was nice that you added the baked goods this year, although we think you could find better croissants. We come primarily to see shows and the location within walking distance to Broadway is wonderful.
Front door services are great.
Location was very convenient. I particularly liked the second floor lounge with free coffee and soft drinks, fruit and croissants. Great place to hang out midst the books. Clever decor. Very friendly and helpful staff
My petite room was small, as expected, but quite dark. But clever to use books and bookshelves as decor
