Period Hotel in the heart of Centro
Pros:

Impressive period hotel right opposite Church square and walkable to the Cathedral and Centro.
Staff were super helpful especially as regards setting up the World Cup coverage in their lounge. Warm and friendly throughout, also good security in a busy area.
Rooms were of a good size if a little light on comfort. The in-house breakfast is worth a try but there also many options nearby.

Cons:

A full point deducted for the strong metallic smell every time you used the water in the rooms.
No coffee or tea facilities anywhere except the resteraunt. Strange that the bar was closed during this period given lots of thirsty football fans who had to go to 7/11 instead and bring it into the hotel lounge.
Room cleaning was missed on one occasion despite the tag on the door. The safety box did not work properly.

Pros:

Everything: spacious, clean, near to the city's historical landmarks, extremely confirmational staff (I got some very good recommendations of where to eat or visit), the hotel (and it's room) is a beautiful architectural building.

Cons:

Smelly water (due to the city’s water filtration system is under replacement?)

Hace unos 20 me hospedé aquí. No había regresado. Es un hotel de 10 sobre 10! De super LUJO a un precio super ACCESIBLE! Amabilidad desde el más modesto de sus empleados hasta de los Gerentes. Piscina al aire libre, grande, limpia y CLIMATIZADA! Todo el Centro de la ciudad...a tus pies! Y toda la Zona Metropolitana de Guadalajara...tremendanente accesible! UNA DE LAS MEJORES OPCIONES de toda la capital de Jalisco! Volveré! Y si no se han hospedado: SIN DUDAR, RESERVEN!!!!

Disappointing
Pros:

Location was the only redeeming factor.

Cons:

1). The hotel was very noisy so I slept terribly the whole stay. All the rooms centred around an internal atrium meaning the sound echoes and you can hear everything happening in the lobby and on each floor. We were awoken multiple times every night each time a guest got home. They also played the tv/music loudly from 8am to late at night and allowed guests to party, scream and shout in the lobby/atrium at 2, 3 and 4am in the morning! The reception is 24/7 so the staff would have heard it but they didn’t do anything about the noise. My wife had to call reception twice at midnight and 3am and ask them to please ask the guests to quiet down and turn off the tv. 2). The bed sheets and towels are so old and threadbare. Our sheets and towels had stains on them. 3). The rooms and hotel are very dated and old and rooms are small. I agree with the other comment that the water in the shower smells bad 4). Internet was patchy and dropped out constantly. 5). They didn’t tell us this when we checked in but every time you leave the hotel your room access card stops working. We were told we had to reactivate every time when we went down to reception to advise the card was not working. 6). The “gym” was a selling point for us but sadly the facility was very lacking. Equipment is not maintained and some items don’t work. The treadmill is dangerous as it has not been lubricated / maintained in a long time, causing the belt to slip which can cause an accident.

Lovely hotel with clean pool
Pros:

Central location. Friendly staff. Clean room. Good air conditioning and wifi. Comfortable beds. Hot shower. Clean and warm roof top pool with a good view. Short walk to centre of town. Water bottles left in room every day.

Cons:

A kettle and bar fridge in room would be great (although we knew that prior to arriving).
The area outside of the hotel at night looked a little concerning with several people who slept on the footpaths but we did not experience any problems.
