The run down resort charging such prices for stay and amenities is ridiculous.
Pros:

The room is beautiful and the location is stunning. Unfortunately, the building is located on an old base and is extremely run down. There are several unoccupied asbestos buildings on the property polluting the beautiful nature. This was impossible to ignore. The usable resort is also run down and minimally maintained.

Cons:

The meals were fairly prepared, but for the price, the portions and preparation, it's absolutely not worth the price. On top of the stay, there are incredibly expensive activities that are sold ala cart. Absolutely nothing was worth the price.

Pros:

If you want to stay in the rain forest, this is the place to be.
Pros:

Location is excellent - right in the rain forest with wonderful views out over the Rio Chagres. Cavernous room. Tasty food in the restaurant.

Cons:

Birdwatching on Camino del Oleoducto (Pipeline Road) very expensive - $192 for two adults for 3 hours - so we took an Uber (<$5) there and did the walk ourselves. We weren't over wild about the 'sloth experience" either, which featured four slots - each one reclining on a green towel in a basket, in a slightly industrial barn-like structure. Beer >2X the price at the Radisson or in Santa Catalina.

unique location, decent accommodation reminder of yesteryears
Pros:

location is great, free night right was great and most of the staff very friendly and professional

Cons:

resort a bit tired, low maintenance performed and poor cleaning of the garden andsurrounding areas, this is a unique and fantastic setting, could and should be prime hotel.. what a waste..
not to mention the attached canal employee houses left to rot
