Beautiful room, extremely nice staff, perfect location.
Charming, clean, and safe
I liked everything about to property
The location was wonderful! Close enough to walk to the river shops or to Bourbon Street. The staff were the absolute best. When our flight was unexpectedly canceled, the staff took care of us and made sure we had a room for the night. They made great recommendations for restaurants and music. We also loved the amount of history and preservation of the building. The room was very comfortable but it wasn’t a cookie cutter boring chain. We also appreciated being close to everything, but this area is quiet at night. We are both sensitive sleepers, and we had fantastic sleep this trip.
The breakfast seemed disorganized.
Excellent location and we loved the option to prepay parking
The mattress sunk in the middle BAD. It wasn't a deal breaker, but the mattress could use some attention.
Everything
Nothing
Broken door to the bathroom, never locked
We payed for breakfast through booking, but the staff didn’t confirm it😡
Nothing
Appreciated the proximity to where I was working. Location was within walking distance to my place of work and to many restaurants and bars. Liked the hotel was off the main strip and down 2-3 blocks which made it a quieter stay. The temperature the room stayed consistently cool however I did hear other guests complain about their A/C not working while passing thru the lobby.
The linens and the room itself could have been cleaner. I failed to take a picture but the bed skirt of the king-sized bed I had looked as if it hadn't been washed in months. Clear and visible stains of some kind all over it.
The location was good, had a pac and play
MOLD The ac didn’t work in both rooms we booked, the best they could do was give us a fan ( took 2 hours to get a fan after asking twice ) the room was so muggy that everything in it was damp. There was MOLD in the bathroom roof and even more mold that was painted over. I booked 2 king suits and 1 room was so much nicer than the other. Floors were filthy . The hall had broken glass . The elevator is like it’s about to break . The light was hanging off the wall. The bathroom door didn’t close.
Been there before, room and beds are very comfortable.
The room temperature did not cool down as I would have liked and the courtyard had many rats running through it when I walked through it in the evening, not really the hotels fault, I would assume just New Orleans since the trash cans are on the street.
The location and price were great. The hotel was a short walk from the main areas we wanted to see, so we didn't have to drive anywhere. The staff was friendly and attentive. They got us extra bedding for our son, and when there was a snag with the number of breakfasts allowed because of Booking.com, they fixed it. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good (when floods weren't ruining everyone's day). The historic nature of the property was neat, and the front room was lovely.
Parking is off-site, and when we arrived, there was no place to park for the paid valet service. We had to circle around and call the front desk to figure out how to drop the car off. Thankfully, a truck moved, and we were able to slide in, but after a 9 hour drive, it was not as smooth and clear as I would have liked. Also, I didn't realize at the time of booking that there was no on-site parking. Possibly a miss on my part, and I figured it out later through reviews, but details like that should be more visible.
Minor things: The bathtub drain wouldn't stop the water from draining out, so my wife couldn't use the bathtub, and the mini-fridge seemed like it was having issues, but for an older property, it wasn't bad.
Good location to pretty much everything a tourist would want to see and or do in New Orleans! Walkable to a lot of sights and restaurants. Very good sized room. Easy access to pool from our room. Quick and easy valet parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Keara was very helpful upon checking in.
Not very clean overall. Various hairs in the bedding and in the bathroom. The room had a VERY musty smell to it which I understand is the nature of the area with the humidity and hurricane history but if you’re sensitive to smells or have allergies please be advised! Also due to the age of the building, the walls are thin. I could hear the entire conversation happening next-door to us! No ice machine in the building we were in. The outdoor dipping pool area leaves A LOT to be desired. There is moss and algae all over the bricks and the seats of the furniture in the pool area had black mold on them.
Perfect location. Safe. I took my Pet at all times (including midnight) for walk without any worry. Also, it's close enough but far enough form bourbon street to be not in middle of all the noise and traffic. Breakfast was OK. Old building but kept nicely.
It's old building. so many things are clumsy. the door in and out. the walls and doors are flimsy, so it's easy to hear noises next door. Rooms are smaller then I'm used to see for 2 queen beds. Even though when we booked, I was tolk it'll be 300+ sqft room, but it was definitely around 250 sqft or less. bit tight. but still great.
