Love the hard floors
Currently on 4th night. Housekeeping has come once ; left clean towels and removed garbage. Not once has the bed been made or coffee station refreshed or cleaned. Front desk notified but basically told to come downstairs if we need more coffee pods. No offer to clean the room. For the price you would think they could at least make the bed once or twice.
Would NOT recommend !
I checked into the Hilton Garden Inn in Mount Pleasant, SC on Tuesday, 7/7/26. That same day, $450 was deducted from my bank account. I thought it was unusual since hotels typically place an authorization hold and charge the card at checkout, but I didn't question it.
At checkout, I returned my room keys and asked for a receipt. After a few minutes, the front desk agent returned with an assistant manager (Randy or Ray), who insisted I still owed for my stay. I explained that the $450 had already been deducted from my account on 7/7/26 and tried to show him the transaction on my phone. He refused to look at it, repeatedly interrupted me, and became rude and argumentative, insisting I owed the balance based only on the paperwork he was holding. He even stated that he does this all day and that he knows what he’s doing.
I called my bank while standing at the front desk, and the representative even offered to speak with him directly. He refused and returned to the back. The bank confirmed that Hilton was holding the funds and simply needed to claim them rather than charging my card again. The female front desk agent informed me that he was the assistant manager, and because the general manager would not be available until later that afternoon, I had no choice but to continue trying to resolve the issue myself.
To avoid causing a disturbance, I moved to the business center and the asst manager comes back out and starts again about the funds owed. I excused myself and went to my car to continue making calls to both Hilton Corporate and my bank. The harassment began. Instead of allowing me to resolve the situation, the assistant manager called me, left a voicemail complaining that I had been gone more than 30 minutes (which I still have the voicemail). My 16-year-old niece went inside to let him know I was still on the phone with my bank, and she also experienced his rude behavior. Minutes later he even came into the parking lot looking for me.
After nearly 1½ hours of phone calls and repeated explanations, my bank again confirmed that Hilton already had the funds on hold. All they needed to do was claim them. The bank stated that the last resort was to file a claim on the funds since they stated they were not received by the hotel, which I did. I finally returned inside, the transaction was processed correctly, and I was given a receipt showing a $0 balance.
I am convinced that this man would have had a warrant out for my arrest if I had not cleared this up prior to leaving. This was my 1st time visiting the Charleston SC area and this was my ONLY negative experience. I will be back, but will never stay at another Hilton hotel.
But wait, Friday, 7/17/26, an additional $200 was charged to another card that I had used there. This nightmare continues.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Despite being located close to a four-lane main road, the hotel was surprisingly quiet at night, allowing for a restful sleep. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always helpful.
The location is excellent. Downtown Charleston can be reached within just a few minutes, making it very convenient for sightseeing and dining. During our stay, we attended a concert at the Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island, which was only about a 15-minute drive away. The venue offered free secured parking and was just a short five-minute walk from the stadium, making it a fantastic concert location.
We also spent time at the beautiful Isle of Palms beach, located only 20 minutes from the hotel. The beach is well maintained and offers convenient facilities, including showers and changing rooms.
In addition, Shem Creek is only five minutes away. There you can find excellent waterfront restaurants with live music on weekends. Sitting directly by the water creates a wonderful atmosphere, and if you are lucky, as we were, you may even spot dolphins.
Clean place
Check in staff was not friendly.
It is very disappointing to charge for breakfast for less than quality of a “holiday inn” type breakfast where at HOLIDAY INN is free.
I liked the breakfast, however, I didn't think I'd be charged for it. I could have sworn that free breakfast was included when I booked the room. The guy running the breakfast was really nice and accommodating! However, the rest of the staff was not very friendly and not very accommodating! We got to the hotel at about 11 am to check in and was told that we have no rooms available yet and that check in time was at 3:00. I did know that 3:00 was check in time but was told over the phone a few days prior that we could probably get checked in around noon or a little bit afterwards as soon as there was a room available. Anyway, I was okay that we could not check in yet so we waited in the lobby. At noon I went back up to the desk and asked the girl if a room was ready yet and she said no. So we waited another hour and around 1:10 she came up to us and said, "wait you still haven't checked in yet?" I said no we were waiting for you to come over to us and tell us that a room was ready. So she apologized and checked us in. Even though she apologized it was a bit annoying that she forgot about us and then kind of acted like it wasn't her fault. That was not a good start to our stay. Next, we were told we'd get maid service every other day, which was okay, but we never got any service the 4 days we were there. Granted our do not disturb sign was on our door, but we were never asked by the maid if we wanted our room clean even when asked for some fresh towels, in which she gave me one towel. Speaking of towels, the pool didn't have any towels available on Friday for many hours. All in all, it wasn't a bad stay, but it definitely wasn't a good one!

Location very clean quiet
Nothing
We had a quick overnight stay at this hotel. I will definitely stay here again next time we are in Charleston. The hotel was clean. The staff was polite and attentive. Robert was particularly helpful. Breakfast was delicious and has cook to order options. I definitely recommend this hotel.
It was very well located
The beds are too soft and not comfortable
Location, up to date, clean and very friendly staff!
Nothing!
This reservation was cancelled by Hilton Rewards in Jan 26. But hotel did not honor that cancellation and refuses to refund the $178.08 they charged me for one night. They are very uncooperative and their manager, Erika Duque, should be ashamed at her lack of compassion. My cancellation was due to the fact I had to have surgery at that time. Never never trust this location.
Friendly staff. The woman in charge of breakfast was a ray of sunshine. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
