Pros:

This property is 1.4 miles from Kinnick, 2 miles from the IA City Ped Mall, and the heart of the Coralville Strip. Yes, the price is jacked up for Homecoming, but still worth it in every way. Wonderful staff, comfortable room, extra clean facilities, hot breakfast (scrambled eggs + sausage links + fresh waffles) plus all the usuals and 2 touch screen coffee machines (espresso, latte, Americano, etc)!

Cons:

Many times our card keys were deactivated even when not stored close to a cell phone. It would be nice if they could upgrade that system.

Pros:

The breakfast was great. Having supper was nice. Only had to worry about a light lunch. The place was clean. The shuttle to and from the hospital was very nice. Liked it so well I booked the same room for Nov 1st thru the 6th.

Pros:

I was very glad we got a room with the new white comforter bedding and updated bathroom. I didn’t know what type of room we’d get based off pictures online. Some pictures looked updated and clean and others looked very dated so I was VERY happy to see the updated room.

The evening soup, sandwich, and salad was a very nice and unexpected experience.

Cons:

The low ceiling in room and hallways gave an oppressive feeling to what was an otherwise comfortable room.

Very ordinary and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

one queen bed had such an old or just very poor mattress which made for an uncomfortable 2 night's sleep.
Hot water would come and go in the shower and at one point went completely. The basin outlet was faulty, sprayed everywhere. Front desk alerted and we were assured it would take care of but it happened again. Hotel is in need of an update.

Cock Roach Was The End of The Stay

The cheap price, that's about it. Management gave us a refund for the second night.

Cons:

Our stay at this Heartland Inn was horrible. When we got there, there was a male wondering around by the entrance door we were using to get to our room who had a dog and he was watching everyone entering. There was also a young girl with a luggage type rack hanging around this same entrance and a younger girl sitting on the floor using her laptop. It made using this door uncomfortable. I mentioned to management about this situation and they were completely unaware these people were at this location. They apparently made them move to the lobby area, but they continued to loiter around the area. Our bed had no bed spread and the mattress was very uncomfortable. The topper was the cock roach crawling up our curtain in the morning. We decided to cancel our second night stay and I would not recommend this location. Horribly uncomfortable and apparently buggy!!
