We had an an excellent family stay. All staff are warm, friendly and very helpful. It goes a long way.. really appreciated and valued. Location is first class and will definitely stay again and high recommend to others.
Pool area a little dated. Clean but aged.

This is old school opulence and you sense the history as soon as you walk in. The balance between maintaining the history, but appearing modern and contemporary was exceptionally met. Loved it. The staff were friendly, courteous and amazing. My sincere thanks to Emma who gave us breakfast on the house as an anniversary present. It really was most gracious and well received.
Nothing.
Nice view of the city, cozy bed, nice cleaners, staff generally very polite (with one exception of a waitress at breakfast)
Room felt a bit cramped, spa required you to bring your robes from bedroom and you've got to take two lifts to get there, no option to lie down in SPA unless you take on a treatment, breakfast felt a bit poor in terms of choice, and you had to pay extra in addition to the £35 it costs to order e.g. poached eggs. This fares poorly compared to other 5 star hotels I've stayed in. For what it costs, that is quite a lot, I felt it was not worth it. Would have been nice to have a lounge with a view where to take coffee/read/write
Spent a very happy 2 nights in this excellent hotel with tremendous staff, fantastic food & excellent service. The room was spotless & extremely comfortable. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent hotel
The backstory: We have stayed at a few high-end hotels in our travels to splurge now and then, and frankly, have been disappointed every time. The service was indifferent or dismissive, or the room was missing something, or the food was pretentious and overpriced—and we left disappointed feeling we’d wasted our money.
Well—EVERYTHING was stellar at the Caledonian. Everything. The rooms were spotless, with heated towel bars, excellent linens and toiletries and robes and slippers, and all the essentials for making tea or coffee. The beds were very comfortable, and for a large hotel, we were amazed at how quiet it was.
The service was outstanding; the front desk was pleasant and efficient, and the concierge made our lives easy by arranging airport transportation for our group. The housekeeping was detail-oriented and really spoiled us.
The pool and spa are beautiful and so are all of the public areas. The grand staircase is lovely. Some of the rooms even have a view of the castle and it is beautiful when illuminated at night.
The dinner we had in the Court was extraordinary. Everything was carefully and creatively prepared and every single dish we ordered was delicious. Even my humble bangers and mash was made with care and creativity. And the sticky toffee souffle for dessert—yum and yum!
The Caledonian is pricey and worth every penny.
Other hotels should send their staff to train here.
Excellent from start to finish! Great quality experience made even better by Asha and Heather. My husband and I were celebrating with friends and every team member made us feel special and spoiled. Just brilliant!
The hotel was beautiful, very comfortable room and beds. Beautiful view on the castle and nice, big, renovated bathroom. Excellent food for breakfast and in the Court restaurant. Live music during dinners was a treat!
The price :) It could have been less expensive. We would have stayed longer.
My mum and dad visited as a Xmas gift as they love going to different hotels. They got their room upgraded and sat in the bar with some food and had a lovely night. Said the staff were great and the hotel was beautiful. They would stay again
Couldn’t fault the hotel
