First time in Edinburgh and wanted a well located, high quality hotel. The Caledonian ticks all the boxes - it has the quality and standards you expect from a Hilton brand, but being a Curio Collection hotel it has retained its own unique charm and character. From the tartan liveried doormen, to the Scottish porridge and haggis available at breakfast, to the amazing views over the Castle, it’s a wonderful hotel.
It’s well located within walking distance of all the major sights, has a fantastic pool/spa, and the rooms have a beautiful local charm in the decor. Very happy with it, and will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Edinburgh.
Excellent location, beautiful bedroom with comfortable bed and a large, walk in shower. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices.
Odd room numbers are facing a huge generator which hums all day and at night it sounds quite loud which is very annoying, especially if you are a light sleeper.
My wife and I visited Edinburgh on a celebration vacation, and stayed at The Caledonia Edinburgh. As a Lifetime Diamond Hilton Honors member I feel I can speak with authority - I've stayed in some of the finest Hilton properties all over the world, but the Edinburgh Caledonia is absolutely the finest stay I've had. Timeless beauty, fastidiously maintained, and absolutely the best staff I've ever been welcomed by. So welcoming, efficient, helpful, smiling, joyous - I cannot say enough. From desk to concierge to restaurant to the bar to the maintenance staff - all were a joy to meet, and made our celebration perfect. I humbly thank them all, and heartily recommend to stay there when in Edinburgh!
A fantastic hotel at walking distance to the castle and the Royal Miles. Emma at reception upgraded us to a room with a view of the castle as she found out we were there to celebrate our birthday! Thank you so much Emma you gifted us of that beautiful room! Unforgettable 🙏🏼
The breakfast was lukewarm served on cold plates
The room heating was not working and the view from the window was just of a brick wall and cables
I went with my daughter for a spa pool day on Mothers day and it was fantastic.
All hotel staff were lovely, however the Spa staff were absolutely exceptional and amazing - they went above and beyond and deserve to be singled out for recognition as they are an absolute credit to the hotel. Nothing was too much bother. They were friendly with a professional line and put you at ease. Upon arrival they were ready with complimentary towels, robes and slippers. The facilities were spotless and the pool water was checked regularly by the staff. The sauna, steam room and warm salted water jacuzzi were all lovely additions. Swimming with a view of Edinburgh castle was a treat. Then afterwards getting showered, and changed it was lovely to be able to straighten and blow dry my hair and dry off my wet pool clothes before we left. Will definitely be back!
We visited the Caledonian on Saturday, 14th March, for a spa day with a mum-to-be massage for my fiancée and an afternoon tea. The whole experience was wonderful. We’re both really grateful to all the staff we met. They were so warm, friendly and helpful. Nothing forced or superficial - just nice people, who are very good at their jobs. We don’t get much free time together, and we both left the Caledonian feeling like we’d had a special experience. I would like to mention Lucasz in The Court, where we had the afternoon tea. He manages to combine the highest level of professionalism with a real warmth and humour, and helped so much to make us feel comfortable and happy. We love this place and we look forward to coming back. Thank you everyone.
Beautiful Scottish breakfast and evening meal excellent. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Would now only stay at the Caledonian in future Edinburgh visits!
Fantastic gourmet bar snacks, topped with friendly and professional service from Heather, Tahlia and Ellis.
Atmosphere , decor , location, food and friendliness of staff were out of this world!
