The Oberoi Cecil, Shimla

This is a beautiful hotel situated near the Mall Road in Shimla. The view across the valley to the Himalayas was stunning from our room.
The room was large and very comfortable.
Plenty of towels and toiletries in the bathroom with a lovely shower above the bath.
Tea and instant coffee in the room also.
What helps to make this hotel are the amazing staff. Not only are they extremely professional they are fun and happy too.
( unlike at Claridges in Delhi!)
The lounge perhaps lacks much ambience because it is so big and felt chilly when we were there but is a beautiful part of the hotel.
We were here for New Year and the gala dinner was a work of art. Congratulations to the hard working chefs who provided so much beautiful food. Dinner on our second night also exceeded expectations and the mutton curry and chicken biryani were very authentic.
Breakfast had plenty of choice and also hot cooked food to order.
The swimming pool and jacuzzi were lovely especially when we had it all to our self.
The only other negative which is a very personal thought is that guests should not be allowed at breakfast in pyjamas. It’s a 4/5 star hotel and dress codes should be respected not abused!
Thankyou again for making new year so enjoyable.

The main reason is hospitality and Food Oberoi has , i was glad to meet Mr. Rajkumar Bhatia - Sous Chef who was very kind and caring about the food and we came to know that he is with Oberoi for Last 38 yrs that's what is loyalty is for his work and passion towards food.

Wonderful Experience and lot of memories given by oberoi cecil team led by General Manager Mrs. Swati Ji Srisvastava and special mention for Mr. Raghav Khullar (Front Desk Manager) and Mr. Mukesh Sharma (F&B Manager) for ensuring pleasant stay.

The hotel is highly recommended. Front office staff is excellent. Raghav was quite accommodative. Chef Rajkumar Bhatia, Mukesh amd Akash took good care of us in the restaurant. They were able to prepare and serve delicious meals as per our taste and requirements, even beyond the scripted menu. The bfast menu is elaborate and well designed.

We had a wonderful experience with a chef named Mr. Rajkumar Bhatia at the Oberoi Cecil, Shimla. The food was consistently excellent, using high-quality ingredients and perfect seasoning. The menu variety, cleanliness, and punctual service made everything seamless. Truly a top-class chef who delivers both taste and professionalism.

One of the best Hotel in Shimla and we met this Sous Chef Mr . Rajkumar Bhatia what an experience Chef and what delicious food. Came to know fhat he is with Oberoi Hotels for last 38 years that shows the loyalty towards the Oberoi Group and his work.

Also the property Cecil is nestled in the midst of the mountains . All the staff are very courteous Sylvester, Tanushree, Aman Manish, Anshule, Raghav. And the evening was even more serene due to the piano artists !!!

Overall experience was excellent. The hospitality was supreme. Stay was super comfortable. The property took care of each minor details of the Room and overall experience was excellent. Food menu is well curated.

I visited hotel with my close friend. We had truly unforgettable experience at Cecil Everything from Hospitality to food to housekeeping was just amazing. Chef Mr Rajkumar Bhatia and all other chefs made sure we got Whatever we want...All restaurant Staff was extremely helpful. Front office Manager Mr Raghav and Staff specially Mr Manan and Anshul parul were extremely Courteous.

This was our favourite hotel we visited on our Indian trip. Colonial style, public areas are lovely and can’t praise the staff enough, very helpful and attentive. Our room was beautiful and well appointed.
We had our meals in hotel, buffet at night had good selection.
Swimming pool is indoor and again beautiful, complète with chandeliers and views out to mountains.
Good location, within walking distance of Town.

A mini vacation that turned out to be a wonderful experience. Except for the check in debacle which was quite ingnorable, everything went just outstanding. Excellent food prepared by Raj kumar ji and Rajivji. They were just on the spot to what our expectations were. Great hospitality from Mukeshji and Swati ji to ensure that our stay was very comfortable. Extra care taken of my daughter who is just 1.5 years in terms of food and comfort. Coming back very soon. We had a wonderful stay, and I want to especially appreciate the staff for their quick action when my child got stuck in the elevator for a few minutes. The team responded immediately, kept us calm, and located him within moments. Their professionalism, kindness, and presence of mind turned a scary situation into a safe one. Very good property at the best location ….the staff very cooperative n respectful…had a fulfilling experience and the manager Raghav was very impressive n committed !! The rooms are well equipped n aesthetically done !! Also every delicacy from the chef Rajkumar is superb!
