Just back from a 2 night stay with the family being a elite member the hotel really did look after me and the family thank you for a nice stay 🙌🙌🙌
We went to the London Marriott Maida Vale for my 50th birthday. We are Martiott Ambassador and I called before I went to inquire about vegetarian restaurants my birthday dinner. We were also told that we had been upgraded to the presidential suite. and a confirmation showed on our booking for that suite, as that's how they confirmed it with us.
When we got to the hotel to check in and after a long wait without any bathrooms in the lobby as they were renovating we went elsewhere to use bathrooms,. They were using one bathroom in the lobby as a unisex bathroom and I saw a man go into this bathroom , then a small girl from the other family waiting for a room went into the bathroom and in 2 minutes we heard screaming from the young girl as the man before her was in there with his pants down. We were finally given a suite. The most horrible suite I have ever seen . It was not the suite we were promised, the room was dark dingy , mold in the shower , the sink drain was plugged and was not draining and the whole room smelt musty.
When we went down to complain to the frond desk manager, she said she was going to look into this and after a long wait again said she was sorry as the other suite was given to someone else. She tried to tell me that the suite I was given was nicer than the one I was promised online.
Horrible unorganized hotel and unfriendly staff.
TLDR / Too Long Didn’t Read;
An unexpectedly good Marriott, in a potentially convenient location, refurbished with solid bathroom doors, and a great breakfast.
The hotel is located between Kilburn High Road (Lioness Line) and Kilburn Park (Bakerloo) with about a 5 minute walk to both. The No. 16 bus to Paddington (which only takes 15mins) is a good alternative to the Bakerloo for accessing the Elizabeth Line too.
- The Good;
A super friendly check-in (and check out) - All the staff were friendly, especially at the lounge/bar as the lady sorted me out with a soft drink late at night long after it had closed, when I’d returned late from an event I was attending as the purpose of this trip.
I was upgraded to an ‘executive room’ which was recently refurbished and contained really nice decor in room including the most beautiful globe lamp I’ve ever seen in a hotel room. The complementary minibar was stocked with a number of pepsis and cans of water. Also the room featured USB-A and USB-C ports, as well as EU and US plug sockets on one side of the bed.
The bathroom was lovely, clean and well appointed. L’OCCITANE toiletries in the shower and sink - with lots of consumable items available for you if you need (cotton balls, q-tips, etc)
Shower controls are away from the shower so you can turn it on/off and change the temperature without getting soaked beforehand - a nice surprise! And it had a fully enclosed glass door.
A large printout each day with the weather and underground status lives near the concierge desk - this was a nice touch.
Breakfast in the morning was well stocked, with an egg chef, and a vast range of things.
- The Not So Good:
Only two lifts. And one was broken during my stay. The lift frequently stopped at multiple floors until full.
The toaster needs looking at, 4 runs through to get any level of browning!
- The Weird:
The lounge is free soft drinks all day at the attached carluccios restaurant. But alcohol after 1730. It felt quite awkward tbh - I think they need to reduce the size of the Carluccios and make a dedicated mClub.
- The Practicals - The windows don’t open and Mobile Phone reception excellent 5 bars 5g vodafone and EE. things in room; plenty of tea and coffee. Hair dryer, a robe and slippers (nice to see, and very much appreciated after my shower!) As I always comment on my reviews - the bathroom door is solid wood, no glass here waking everyone up in the middle of the night! Marriott Platinum and above benefits were 1000 bonus points, breakfast and lounge access. Plus a minor room upgrade (though I noted on the fire escape map on the door it was one of the smaller rooms!)
In Summary:
Lounge weirdness aside, this was a great stay. I will be back, for sure.
Thank you Marriott Maida Vale team for realy nice surprice in our room that me and my wife got for our anniversary. The food was delicious and all the staff were so kind. For my first visit in Marriott hotel i can just say that we are coming back to your hotels all over the world.
We were extremely disappointed with our stay, especially considering we paid £366 for two nights with no breakfast, which felt like a complete rip-off.
The air conditioning/heating in the room did not provide warm air at all. It felt as if the heating was limited to save money across the hotel. We had to request and use an oil heater provided by the hotel, which is unacceptable for a hotel stay over Christmas.
The internet connection was another major issue. We spent over one hour trying to connect to the Wi-Fi in the room. In addition, the option to connect our own device to the TV did not work, despite following the instructions.
We specifically chose this hotel because it was advertised as having an indoor swimming pool and sauna, which was a key reason for booking over Christmas. This turned out to be misleading. The pool and sauna are actually located in a public gym outside the hotel, not within the hotel building. To make matters worse, the gym was closed over Christmas, so we could not use these facilities at all. Had the pool and sauna been inside the hotel as advertised, we would have been able to use them.
Accessing the gym (if open) requires walking there and back outside, there were no dressing gowns or slippers provided, and it felt completely impractical.
As a so-called Christmas gesture, the hotel left cheap Christmas socks on the door containing low-quality sweets and two old tangerines, which felt embarrassingly inappropriate given the price paid and the lack of basic comfort throughout the stay.
Finally, when we checked out, the reception staff did not thank us for our stay, did not ask whether we had enjoyed it, and offered no apology, despite being aware that we had raised several complaints. We were not offered the option to speak to a manager, which left us feeling completely ignored and dismissed.
Overall, the experience did not match what was advertised, lacked basic comfort, and offered very poor value for money. We would not stay again and do not recommend this hotel.
Nice clean hotel with a decent breakfast and nice rooms - only reason I gave it 4 stars is the second elevator was not working which meant long waits and I had to call internationally to ask my bill to be emailed because they did not do it even after I requested when I checked out.
I would definitely stay here again!
I stayed here for one night for work. I wasn't offered an upgrade as an Ambassador elite member of Marriott Bonvoy but I was offered early check in. Food and drinks were fine. I'd consider going back again for a future work trip.
The London Marriott Maida Vale was an exceptionally great stay, at an excellent value. It would be somewhere I would 100% return to in the future.
Rooms:
+ A nice (fairly standard) Marriott design.
+ Quiet. This is so important when traveling. We could not hear our neighbors or the street.
Service:
+ This was top notch. Everyone, from the front desk, to the restaurant staff, to the housekeeping, were helpful and went above and beyond to help us.
Location:
+ The hotel is in a residential neighborhood, which we felt completely safe in. It is a 3 minute walk from a grocery store and Starbucks. It is a 6-8 minute walk from Kilburn Park on the Underground, which is on the Bakerloo line, and a 5 minute walk from Kilburn High Road which is on the Lioness line. It took us about 20-30 minutes to get into the majority of the tourist sites in London.
Elite recognition:
+ Top notch. As Titanium, I get access to lounges. In the case of this property, they did not have an M Club lounge, so provided all services in the hotel restaurant. Their breakfast included made to order eggs, and a massive spread of food. In the evening, their canapes changed nightly, and included beer (Peroni) and white and red wines.
The property was several hundred pounds cheaper than stays at other London area hotels. It offered great value for us.
Had a warm welcome from Laxmi at the reception along with her manager Alex! Team was lovely and provided excellent service ! Extra note on Laxmi for being so lovely and helpful with all kinds of services ! And the bed was super comfortable!
We had a great stay with our family of four in October 2025. It is a little outside of the city, which for us meant it was much quieter than central London, but the Kilburn Park underground station on the Bakerloo Line easily connected us with the rest of the city. There are numerous places to eat nearby, and we enjoyed the Queen's Arms and the Old Bell pubs for dinner. The room itself was fine for a family a four - smaller than what you might be accustomed to in the US, but larger than the typical London room. The free breakfast for Platinum members was fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again on our next visit.
This hotel is nearly perfect! With only 7 storeys and 4 lifts, it is very convenient. And the housekeeping was truly outstanding. It's a 10 minute walk to the Kilburn Park station on the Bakerloo line, one of very few stations in London where there's an escalator from the street all the way down to the platform - no steps!
One area of concern, however, is the absence of a separate Executive Lounge. Breakfast is served in Carluccio's Restaurant which is fine, but the afternoon goodies, while delicious, are crammed into the back corner of the restaurant. Unlike other full-service Marriott hotels, there's no real lounge with comfortable furniture to relax and linger. Instead, everyone sits at wooden tables, just to consume their food and leave. The hotel needs to find another area, even if it means forfeiting a couple guest rooms, for a real lounge.
It was my wedding day, the hotel staff made it special, so well organised, lovely rooms and wedding event.
Truly a wonderful hotel.
The breakfast was plentiful and amazing quality.
Highly recommended
Loved our stay at the marriot maida vale ,
Everything exceeded expectations. Thankyou
Have stayed here before as we can book a room with 2 doubles for us 4 girls. Rooms are large enough, with plenty of amenities, sockets and mirrors. Good breakfast included. Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. It's a 2 mins walk to the tube with the Bakerloo line taking you into the centre of things within 15 mins or so.
We're never in Maida Vale but find the location quiet enough day or night.
I really enjoy my 3 days stay. My son was injured and had surgery, we booked a disable room for 3 of us. It’s very well designed and bath room is very big, lots of space to move around with 2 persons. The breakfast is very nice, the omelette is just the best! I really appreciated all the help they have provided and made this post surgery recovery 3 days very smooth.
Convenient and quiet hotel in the beautiful Maida Vale neighborhood
Firstly, great sized room by London standards and very clean.
The hotel is within 3 minutes walk from Kilburn High Rd station so is super convenient.
The welcome and reception was first class and we'll certaiblt stay again.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in London! The rooms were comfortable and everything was clean and well-maintained. A special mention goes to Oualid, the manager, who was incredibly kind and friendly. He went above and beyond to help us by agreeing to keep our bags for a few days until we returned to London, which made our trip so much easier. We felt very welcomed and taken care of — we would definitely stay here again!
This hotel is well located in London and offers nice food; however, it falls short in its hygienic quality standard. The hotel staff and managers have a very reckless attitude towards the hygienic standard of the guest room and the bathroom, arguing that they could do nothing with permanent stains and that guests have to live with it.
The hotel is actually nearer to Kilburn side rather than the name suggested Maida Vale area.
The location of the hotel is not very convenient if you need to get to London City area like Covent Garden or go to King’s Cross station. The hotel nearest underground station is Kilburn Park and it is not exactly near the hotel as you will have to cross 2 junctions to get there. Also to get to the City Center, there’s no direct underground train and you will need to change at Paddington or Embankment station. The trips will take at least 50mins.
Finally, the hotel is unable to store big luggage for more than 24 hours (if u need a place to store them when u made short trips out of London, like to go to Edinburgh) due to limited space as claimed by the hotel staff. We found it very inconvenient!
