Good location and friendly staff.
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and the location is good. The room is a bit dated but it was tidy and clean when we arrived.

Cons:

House keeping did not refresh our coffee/milk supplies and barely cleaned the room.

Would have been a great venue but for the lack of a simple curtain
Pros:

Beautiful grounds and nice rooms

Cons:

A curtain was missing which meant light came through the room all night leading to a very disrupted sleep

It was okay
Pros:

Stayed for 1night, room was fine, good size, a little outdated. Didn't spend much time in the hotel.

Cons:

They did charge me $25 only to rearrange bed to 2 singles, that i felt should have been a free of charge.

Pros:

Staff were friendly. Particularly at the restaurant. Garden is beautiful to walk around.

Cons:

I arrived back to my room after a big day out to find my door had been left open all day. House keeping had been in so I'm assuming they left the door open. Nothing was taken from my room however it wasnt a nice feeling to return to, especially of an evening.I called reception to let them know and asked them to give me an explanation but I didn't hear back from them.

Dirty and inadequate
Pros:

Bathroom was filthy. Mould in bath/shower so thick we could scrape it off with our fingernails. Bath mat provided was dirty and mouldy. Went to breakfast buffet and all the food was completely cold. Staff seemed at a loss as to know what to do about it. After several years this was our second stay here, and it is obviously under new 'management'. Would never recommend this to anybody and we will never go again. We have stayed in Accor properties in many countries and states but this ranks as the worst.

Average.
Pros:

The location was good as we had a family function at the hotel next door. The room was clean and tidy and had everything I required as I was only there to sleep. Reception staff were helpful on check in and check out.

Cons:

I was obviously in a disabled persons room even though I didn't request this type of room. The room had no windows that could be opened for fresh air nor windows you could look out as they were at ceiling height. There was a group of 10 of us who had dinner in the restaurant and for a Mercure property the menu was very basic and the service slow and meals mixed up. They had a wedding in an adjoining room and staff seemed to be concentrating their efforts to that area. We had breakfast in the restaurant and once again it was below standard to what you would expect at a Mercure property. Choice wasn't great and the hot buffet wasn't hot.

Saved the Day !!!
Pros:

Thank God for the Mercure Ballarat! After 48 straight hours on disaster relief at the not so far Colac I needed some high quality Accor hotel love. Coming in just before midnight on a 45degree day at a near full capacity the team found me a wonderful accessible room.

The room was impeccable with a huge spotless bathroom, powerful hot shower and the most amazingly comfortable bed and pillows. Powerful Mitsubishi air con cooled me and the room down fast!

I recovered beautifully with a solid 8 hours I was so cozy I didn’t hear anything or anyone and enjoyed a wonderful buffet breakfast.

The pictures of this facility do not do it justice I found the staff, rooms and grounds wonderful, serene and very welcoming. Shout out to Anita, Sarab and a huge thank you to Mr Wasif who looked after me on arrival and fetched my door card after leaving it in reception in my dazed and hyperactive state. Mercure he is a huge credit to the establishment and very very endearing and ultimately very professional and that’s coming from a seasoned traveller with hundreds of hotel experiences across the world.

Thanks mate I really appreciate you. Highly recommend a stay here for everyone and please enjoy the gardens they are awesome!🙂
