Residence Inn by Marriott Cleveland Downtown

I dont even know where to begin. Coming in town for a concert. Requested a 3pm check in. No response. No big deal. We arrived shortly before 3p the vallet parking was a disaster. The kid at the podium clearly was not trained as he had no idea what was going on. We went to check in and was told the room was not ready(again not the biggest deal as check in wasn't until 4p. I asked id it would be ok to have vallet park our vehicle and was told yes by what seemed to be an extremely annoyed receptionist. Went back out and advised the parking attendant that we were told it would be able to park ahead. He seemed confused but did start to ask our name, room number ect. I advised him that we have not been told our room number and he stated that would not be a problem. We gave him our phone number as requested and he texted us the parking info. He told us that when we would need to get the vehicle again to just use that platform sent via text. We asked if we should take our bags and he advised us to indeed take them which we did. We were told to leave the car on and they would be driving it to the basement area were the vehicles were kept. The lobby had several people waiting who all looked annoyed. We waited with our belongings for another 20 mins or so and noticed the car hadn't been moved and was just left running in front of the hotel. Went back out and asked another attendant who had appeared if he could assist in which he did ( and was very helpful). Once our car was taking to the basement garage we went back in and asked approximately how much longer it was going to take for the room to get ready and was told that we were on the list and there was 1 guest ahead of us and then our room would be ready. Once ready we would receive a phone call. Normally I wouldnt care but we were in town for the concert so wanted to get ready and leave. As we continued to wait, we eventually started to get ready in the hotel bathroom were we noticed others were doing the same.

As mentioned above, just the lack of an oven.

DIRTY! Room 403 wasn’t vacuumed. There was a grocery bag full of old, dirty clothes stuffed in one of the cabinets in the kitchen. Hair in the bathroom floor and tub. The bathroom floor was sticky. The closet door was broken and hanging. The air conditioner was very loud and the carpet felt damp. The kitchen coffee maker had no coffee pot and no filter basket. There were water stains and peeling paint on the ceiling. The windows that looked out at the roof tops of the old arcades and other buildings were filthy with layers of grime. Above the bed there was about a half inch of dust stuck to the walls. Also, the shelf by the bathroom sink was barely hanging onto the wall. And we didn’t feel comfortable walking with bare feet on the carpet or tiles because it was gross so had to wear socks or shoes the whole time.

Extremely far walk to the room. Need another first floor access to the Euclid Tower. Also needed to climb stairs to get to room, which was very inconvenient.
Bathroom light didn’t work and it took 45 minutes to change a lightbulb.
All 4 keys stopped working at the same time. Instead of the front desk issuing new keys they sent maintenance to let my party in. Did not resolve the fact that we needed keys to re-enter again and again
