Superb hotel right in the heart of the resort. Ideal location - 2 mins walk to the ski lift. Valet parking was a welcome surprise, concierge organised ski rental at a very good price. Service was excellent, lots of delicious food choice in the restaurant (half board recommended). Spa was incredible (payable locally at a discounted price). Overall this is one of the best ski hotels I’ve stayed in.
We treated ourselves to a Level experience as part of a ski trip to Sierra Nevada. From the minute we arrived to the time we left the service was exceptional, every member of staff went out of their way to ensure we had a special experience and never did it feel put on!
My wife is coeliac which she mentioned in passing on the first day and from that moment on, every time we went to the Level lounge she was brought her own plate of GF tapas without asking which gave her reassurance of their understanding of the condition, which is often misunderstood, and she knew the food was safe to eat and not run the risk of ruining her skiing the next day!
Also, included within the Level package is spa access which is a fantastic way to relax after a day on the slopes before a bit of apres ski!
Probably one of our best ski experiences, the recent heavy snow fall helped, but we will certainly be booking again!! ❄️⛷️🇪🇸
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We had an amazing stay. We stayed in the level suite which was perfect for a family of 3. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The service from check in to check out was the best we have had in years. The spa is a must if you stay here. Very family friendly and great location.
The location was perfect and the staff friendly and helpful. The food is served buffet style and we paid extra on the first evening for dinner. Beware, when paying 25E for a bottle of wine, it’s only a half bottle. The choice was varied but all the food from the hot counter was tepid at best. Same for breakfast. However, there is a microwave for you to reheat it if you are prepared to join yet another queue. Be prepared to queue…..a lot during the weekend. It was so busy we even had to wait for a table meaning we had to rush or be late for our skiing lesson.
We chose a spa hotel with the intention of resting in the spa after a day on the slopes. But it’s hidden in the info that there is an additional charge of 30E per person for 90 minutes when paying over 300E per night, we expect the spa to be inclusive. We used it once and it wasn’t pleasant. Vents around the edge blew cold air onto us for the first 30 minutes so we retreated to the sauna. But to get there, you had to pass under freezing cold showers, which were activated by hidden sensors! Having worked out how to dodge this shock inducing gauntlet, we headed for the hot beds….. which were cold. The jacuzzi pools were also barely warm and not pleasant. There’s a further hidden charge of 4E for a compulsory swimming hat.
The room was large enough and the bed comfortable. But I the bathroom was tired and in need of renovation. There was black mould in the shower sealant. There’s is a kettle in the room but on a good day, you get enough coffee for two cups and two tiny tiny portions of milk, enough for half a cup. On the first and second day, we didn’t even get that despite asking for it at reception so we had to buy our own, there ere 4 herbal teabags though if you like them. House keeping was terrible. They made the bed and folded the towels. They didn’t even exchange used cups! It got better half way through so there could have been a change of staff as they then wiped down the bathroom and emptied the bin as well.
There’s parking under the hotel but it isn’t discounted for guests.
Atrocious hotel. This hotel is not 4 star, struggled to give it a 1 star. Health Hazards.
The room No: 237 is: very dark, dated, very depressing, basic. Very very small, not enough room to hold suitcases (one had to go into wardrobe so we had not hanging space, the other had to go in the bathroom). Only just enough room to walk around the bed.
Very very Very noisy, loud noise outside window until 1am, then at 7:30am drinks delivery right under window. No room insulation, could hear the next door guests snoring, the guests above using the toilet & shower, could even hear the guests walking down the corridor breathing. No decent sleep for a week!
Asked to move rooms but reception said no other rooms available. We would have considered an upgrade to The Level but this was not offered.
On the second day we only ate in the hotel (dinner buffet was included). We attended the evening dinner buffet where I had a salad. I got extremely bad food poisoning from here!!!! Was sick every 15 mins from Midnight to 10am the following morning – I was in very poor condition, exhaustion & severe dehydration. My husband asked at reception for help but they were extremely uninterested & said I had to go to doctor because doctor would not come out. I couldn’t walk without my husband’s assistance and was sick in the street getting to doctor, very sick in the doctors waiting room and sick on way back from doctor. Only stopped being sick after anti-sickness injection etc from doctor.
The Spa – BEWARE HEALTH HAZARD. The Steam room fabric ceiling is covered in mould. This could be extremely dangerous to someone with respiratory problems going into such a mouldy steamy environment.
Complained about all of the above to receptionist who said she would get a manager to come out and speak with mt – needless to say, a manger never appeared – they are completely disinterested in the welfare of their guests.
Nice centrally located hotel.
Breakfast buffet was poor, looked fine but hot food was warm at best. There were tiny bugs in the fresh pineapple and melon, voidable to the eye. We wouldn’t eat in the hotel again.
Staff were friendly & polite. Hotel seemed clean.
Spa was extortionate. €30 per person for a 90-minute (max) session. That’s for pool, hot tubs that are Luke warm, sauna, steam, etc.
Overpriced for what it is.
The hotel was fairly nice, clean, well presented, polite staff.
The negatives for us was,
(1). Breakfast was included in our stay. Buffet style. Although it looked it wasn’t. The hot food wasn’t hot, luke warm at best.
The quality of the food in my opinion was poor for a high standard hotel. There was tiny insects in the pineapple and melon, only a few, but you could see them. Not good at all. In fact after the first two mornings, we ate outside the hotel.
(2). There is a nice spa/pool area in the hotel. The cost to use it is €30 per person for 90-minutes, then you are required to leave. For what it is, it’s extortion. Maybe worth €8 per person.
The hot tubs are far from hot, Luke warm at best.
To be honest, the hotel was fine, but not for the money charged.
Hotel was OK, but a little further from the ski lifts than I had hoped. Was very disappointed to find the the hotel charged me 4 euros for a Coke that I never had from the mini bar.
Excellent location! Steps from the lifts⛷️ Beautiful hotel w very good dining options! I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The staff were all amazing as well, especially Lydia (my Pilates instructor at Melia SolyNieve) I can’t wait to come back next year :) Thanks Melia
I booked this hotel as I am an independent travel agent and I was looking forward to writing a review for this hotel for my potential clients and my network of other agents who would advise their clients to visit.
Upon arrival, check in was slow and disorganised and took quite a while. We had booked 2 rooms and luckily for us one of the rooms was upgraded to the level (no one told us at the time - we found out a day later when I checked the app) The second room was booked as a standard deluxe, but no one at check in even attempted to upsell an upgrade which was a shame as my friends would have paid for it if offered.
A little disappointing that our room upgrade didn't come with all the benefits of the level tier - again had we known we would have paid the extra.
Apart from check in all was fantastic at the hotel, we bought our lift passes at the machine in reception and I had booked our ski are with a company that partnered with the hotel so that was a breeze. Breakfast was wonderful, loads of choice and good quality food.
We wanted to use the spa in the hotel and when we enquired we were told it was €39 pp, but if we listened to a 30min sales pitch we could go for free. We decided to see if the spa in the sister hotel was any cheaper and when we rang they said it was €25pp, so we booked it. On arrival we were told the spa was included in our package so it was free. A lot of confusion and misleading information here. Really the spa facilities should be included in the room stay. Especially as we were only allocated 1h 30mins.
On check out, we purposely left a ski jacket in the room as the pocket zip had broken and we thought maybe one of the staff may like to keep it as it was in good condition and expensive but we already had bought a new one. I always leave toiletries or anything that staff could use again as I know it is appreciated.
When we arrived home a few hours later my husband realised he had left his wedding ring on the bedside table when packing. He immediately rang the hotel who told him to call back the next day as no one from housekeeping was there. THREE days later he finally got through to housekeeping and asked had a ring been found and they said no. We asked was anything found in the room, they said no. They also failed to mention about the jacket being left in the room.
After we sent an email directly to the hotel saying a ring and jacket was left, a few days later MIRACULOUSLY the ring and jacket had been found. Then I receive a second email the next day to say only the jacket has been found. Very confusing.
I paid the postage to have my items returned to me that were supposed to arrive by the 13th Jan and after not receiving them I contacted the hotel who told me the items haven't even left the hotel yet, this was nearly 2 weeks ago when I paid the postage. So I still have no idea after no reply, if the wedding ring will be in the package!
After this I am struggling to see how I can recommend this hotel to my clients and other agents as this dishonesty and ´confusing´events have been really upsetting and disappointing.
After the poor experience it's also a shame that as a Silver Level Melia member I have not been compensated in any way with points or a discount or refund for the upsetting experience we have been through. From a high end hotel brand I did expect a little more professional service.
As I said the hotel itself was lovely, right next to the slopes and had I not have experienced this I would have gone back for sure, now I don't know!
Great stay just front desk staff could be more helpful
We stayed 4 nights in this very nice hotel in the centre of the resort, close to the ski lifts. It was so clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was superb, both in the quality and the quantity of the food. The ski locker area in the basement was clean and easily accessible. Can't praise it enough really - we'd definitely go back.
Esta super bien ubicado, me encanto todas las facilidades que tiene el hotel incluyendo los espectaculos de las noches en el Qlounge. Deme mejorar la calidad de las toallas en la habitacion. Estaban muy usadas.
Good hotel and facilities…clean.
Couldn’t control heater though…
We stayed in the upper tier called the "Level". The ease of having a refreshment and snacks (very nice tapas) plus the open access to the spa on return from the slopes makes this hotel very special. I will always try to stay at this hotel "If it is available". Book in advance.
Fint hotel som ligger perfekt och centralt. Lite slitet men riktigt bra personal, frukost och service. Fint spa.
I didn’t get the room we booked so we had to bed the sofa and it was dirty. Not a nice experience. Not worth 810€ and the spa is not included it cost 30€. We did love the saxophone entertainment but the qlounge staff is stressed and rude and it’s leaking water from the roof.
The check in lady, could do with a little advice regarding smiling & attitude, Our check out lady "Carmen" was fantastic, friendly helpful everything we would expect, rather than the lady who checked us in.
Great location, excellent breakfast buffet (make sure to be there at 8 when they open, a looong line at 8.30), nice bar. The spa was not worth the money, in my opinion. At this price level, surprised it was not included in the price. However, by far the worst experience in this hotel was the horrible sound proofing of the walls (we stayed on the first floor). We could hear a lot of noise from the floor below as well as every word spoken in the hotel room next door. Impossible to fall asleep until all other guests had gone to bed. Will not stay there again, which is too bad given all the other positives of this hotel
