Hotel Don Pepe Gran Meliá

We went for a mini-break during which my husband celebrated a birthday, "the best ever", he declared (and he has had more than 80!) This was mostly due to the excellence of the Don Pepe Hotel (slightly enhanced by perfect weather). In every area the hotel was superb, the very comfortable room, the superb breakfast buffet which provided a wide choice of meats, cheeses, fruits plus individually cooked items, the wide choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner, but above all the friendly, high quality of service. The staff in every department, without exception, were happy to go above and beyond to ensure our total satisfaction. We are left with a lovely memory, thanks to all especially the staff of the Erre restaurant.

We stayed three nights to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The staff were all amazing and looked after us so well. We were upgraded to a Royal Suite and given champagne and strawberries. All lovely touches to make us feel special.

The pool area was great and lovely views over the sea. Stewards look after you very well.

We are breakfast in the Red Room and also some snacks at lunchtime.

The first night we ate in Erree, good food and great service. The third night in the Japanese restaurant - again wonderful food. We could walk into Marbella along the boardwalk.

We look forward to returning when the refurbishment has been completed.

Stunning setting and phenomenal service - both combined to make this a dream hotel for us. We were celebrating and are much indebted to Francisco for his kindness and professionalism and for going out of his way to help us . Francisco is a real ambassador for the Gran Melia . - this is our first stay at Melia and because of Francisco and the wider team we will definitely make Melia our first choice when looking for a hotel. Thank you Francisco. All the staff we met were lovely . A big shout out to the breakfast team you were magnificent - pleasant and helpful despite busy service . We loved Lucia’s smile and warmth, Yvonne’s welcomes, and the gentlemen and ladies who served us were amazing. The young man who looks after the water and room refreshments was so friendly and chatty and our housekeeping and evening service ladies were wonderful. The food was of a high standard at breakfast and at Bardot and the pool. We also enjoyed a meal at China Crown and the ambience at buzzy Cappuccino. The pool concierges were great always there to sort a sunbed or bring a drink or snack. Our stay was pure bliss and we really hope we can return and enjoy the reinvented Don Pepe and in the meantime sample a few other locations with Melia. Thank you you made us very happy

Absolutely wonderful hotel and amazing service! They have a great selection of food and amenities, all with the most stunning backdrop of the sea.

We have been visiting this hotel for many years. The service is excellent and the attention to detail is first class. Whilst it has become a lot more expensive than in previous years, it still represents good value.

Wonderful holiday. The Red Level team were so welcoming as always. Lovely to see the team again and catch up with Louise.

The breakfast team provided a wonderful buffet especially tasty omelettes.

Excellent friendly service from arrival to departure. We wish the team all the best and we hope the renovations will not change the wonderful gardens or reception.

After a few years l have returned to the Don Peppe and it did not disappoint. From the friendliness of all the staff , the cleanliness of all the hotel wonderful care taken by Rual and all the pool attendances and l look forward to returning when it re opens after refurbishment

With no doubt, by far, the best hotel in Marbella! From the very moment we arrive the the door, we have a strong feeling of how much everything single staff member cares. Abel the guest relation manager was always checking on us, making sure we had everything we need, and even many times took initiatives to send us details and make our stay super enjoyable. The housekeeping staff is fantastic! We sometime spent a lot of our day in the room and they would really wait for us until we would leave our room, sometimes after 8 pm to come and do it perfectly, and all with a smile and positive mood. We were initially supposed to stay 3 days, we ended up staying 8 nights and we left with a very heavy heart! Just because we really had to. If you want to feel real hospitality, you want to feel cared for and not just someone there to pay, Melia Don Pepe is the one and only choice!

We have been to Gran Melia Don Pepe for the past 3years, and we love it. The staff are second to none, attentive and very pleasant in all areas. It is disappointing it is closing for well over 12 months, we will be back but please do not change too much, especially the beautiful gardens.

We've been coming back to the Don Pepe for about 20 years or so now and this year's experience was again excellent. The reason we return to this hotel regularly is very much to do with the staff. We visit many hotels each year but none is as welcoming and friendly as the Don Pepe. It would be invidious to name specific individuals but from the management to the pool staff, the reception and the waiting staff, all go above and beyond to make a stay just perfect.
We have made a number of friends over the years whilst staying at the Don Pepe and these are people who return each year for the same reasons as us. Returning each year, we all feel we are coming home.
The hotel is about to close for an extensive refurbishment. Whilst it will be good to see an improvement in the infrastructure, it is essential that the atmosphere is not lost as a result. In this respect, it is very important that Melia retain as many of the existing staff as possible.

We have stayed at the Don Pepe many times and have just returned recently. This hotel continues to provide exceptional levels of service from all of the staff. Breakfast is wonderful, the pool guys are amazing, Manuel Audrey’s Bar and Gonzalez at breakfast go above and beyond as does everyone. The lovely Isabel was always available if anything is needed. My wife left her book on the sunbed overnight and after speaking to Isabel and Alvarino a short time later the book was located and returned to her how amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. The Red Level is a wonderful place to relax and the staff again are exceptional. Thank you Noelia Abel and everyone for another memorable visit to the Don Pepe. Paul. Vicki.

It is situated in a wonderful location with majestic gardens and pool facilities. The staff are kind ,helpful and go that extra mile to make sure your stay is special.

Very enjoyable weekend, relaxing, really good food, staff was incredibly helpful (Abel always willing to go out of his way to attend everyone)
