Spent a lovely relaxing week in Torremolinos. Hotel complex is ideally located, opposite the beach, close to main shopping area and within walking of Parc la Bateria and Molinos de Inca.
Check in was very smooth, all staff very friendly and our room easily accessible. All public areas and gardens very well looked after.
Having booked a "superior" room we were rather disappointed with the small size. At 19 sq ft it is compact and could do with an update. However it was nice to have access to the private sun loungers on the shared terrace. Storage was adequate although opening and closing the sliding wardrobe doors to access the drawers was a bit of a nuisance, as they were very close to the drawer edges.
The safe in the wardrobe was very rusty and old fashioned. Small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities.
Beds were comfortable but there was a reading light on one side only which was an inconvenience as lighting was at room edges so I couldnt read on my side of the bed.
TV had some welcome English channels.
Bathroom was again adequate but very compact. Good shower, no bath. Some toiletries provided but could be more items and better quality products.
The exterior room door could not be closed without a very loud bang which defintely must have upset other guests. The bathroom door was also "sticky".
The noise of other guests on the corridors and from lower floors, esp music from bar, was a downside for us.
The indoor pool and jacizzi was an added bonus given the time of year. Towels were provided but as It was cold going from pool area back to hotel room it would have been nice to have dressing gowns supplied. (Even at an extra charge)
The food choices were really good. Fresh grilled items at every meal. Loved the whipped ice-cream machine and the jelly sweet collection, but my friend complained about the lack of jelly! Most drinks served on AI were branded so really good. Bar menu a bit expensive if not on AI.
Overall excellent value for money, would highly recommend and look forward to a return visit in the near future.
This hotel is spotlessly clean throughout, lovely modern decor throughout including spacious room & brilliant walk in shower.
Plenty of food variety both for breakfast and evening meals.
Plenty sunbeds throughout and choice of pools.
Stayed here & the Don Pablo many times & cannot fault it.
My only disappointment this time was out of my 4 day stay, for 3 days we had no tv or wi fi in our room. Apparently there was a signal issue & promised will be fixed next day but wasn't.
Wi fi & tv working in reception areas.
Currently staying here now in the Don Marco part of the hotel complex and cannot fault a thing!
Spotlessly clean from the room to the restaurants to the reception area.
Food at breakfast has a great selection and drinks at the bar reasonably priced .
The indoor pool and jacuzzi are lovely and relaxing will definitely come back
When I go on holiday am I getting value for money ? Without a doubt for a 4 star hotel in Torremolinos the Don Pedro and the Don Pablo practically tick every box.
The hotel is clean with very attentive staff. The rooms are small but functional with a decent shower and I loved that you could use all the facilities in both hotels. The restaurants provided a varied menu with a buffet to suit all you will not starve. Drinks are reasonably priced for hotels and the entertainment was very watchable mainly consisting of cabaret acts. Despite the weather at times we had a fantastic holiday in the Costa Del Sol with excursions and places to visit in the local buses. So if you want a very good modern 4star Spanish hotel it won’t Costa lot !!!
We had a wonderful all-inclusive stay at Don Pedro for 7 nights. Our room (2021) was spacious, with a double bed and a single bed for the three of us. It also came with a private terrace overlooking the pool, complete with our own sunbeds.
My daughter had great fun at the splash park in the Kidsdom area and enjoyed the other five pools around Don Pedro and Don Pablo. My friend loved the jacuzzi and adults-only pool at Don Marco. On some mornings there were aquarobics sessions, and there were plenty of sun loungers everywhere. All the pool areas were kept very clean by the staff.
The bars served a great selection of drinks and snacks, and there were different morning activities and live evening entertainment. The staff were friendly and hardworking and kept everything spotless.
We alternated between Don Pedro and Don Pablo for our meals. My daughter is very picky with food, but she loved the food here! I enjoyed the variety every day, especially the Spanish dishes, seafood options, and of course the desserts — they were the best!
The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the beach, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. It’s within walking distance of many tourist attractions, and we really enjoyed our evening strolls.
Overall, our stay was relaxing, and we enjoyed everything the resort offered. The location is perfect, the room was comfortable, and the whole resort was clean and well-maintained.
Yes, Don Pedro could use some repairs or replacements in certain areas due to natural wear and tear, but the staff clearly work hard to keep everything running smoothly.
A special shout-out to the amazing staff who made our stay even better:
Ana at the front desk, who gave us such a warm welcome
The lovely ladies and gentlemen at Jerez Bar, who kept us well-fed and hydrated
Our housekeeper, a lovely older lady who always made sure we had everything, even with limited English
The bartenders at the pool bar in Don Pablo, who made us laugh every day
The friendly security gentleman at the front gate in the evenings — always greeting everyone, shaking hands, blowing kisses, and wishing us good night
And of course, we can’t forget the resort’s “Ambassador”: the black cat who adopted us for the week! 😄
All in all, thank you to the staff at Sol Torremolinos. We had a wonderful week thanks to your care and hospitality. We hope to return again in the future.
Just back from a 9 day stay half board .
And oh what a mixed bag .
Lets start with the good .
FOOD and restaurant excellent cannot fault the service nor the quality of food.
Pool areas /lounging areas 1st class with 5 pools and a indoor spa with 100s of sun loungers always available .
Entertainment in evening good by Spanish standards 2 shows in 2 separate theatee/ lounges to choose choose each night ....
Now the not so good .
Reception staff stand offishand generally miserable bunch.
ROOM had better ina 2 star ..too small crap view over rubbish skips
Shower as much use as a ashtray on a motorbike.. and treeace very cramped . 1 bedside cabinet?
1/chair ?.. no kettle or tea / coffee again for 4 star very poor even for spain..
RECCOMEND ROOM UPGRADES if you want luxury and space .
Overall a great holiday on the expensive side for time of year but would give it second look in the future based on overall experience.
Either I was unlucky or this is the worst Sol by Melia hotel !!!. On the first night we were invaded by bedbugs...!! The pictures say it all !! The nice staff, I have nothing to complain about.. they changed our room immediately, with apologies and the obligatory champagne..!! Hotel located on the seafront, with many pools .. but it was never the same.., every spot on the bed or parquet.. looked like a cockroach !!! The deluxe sol room I had taken had bedbugs, and the new one I was assigned... already had no sun.. !!! I don't even know if I would recommend this hotel..!! It's ok... staff eager to help,..cleanliness..(..despite the first night), good breakfast..in two restaurants, pools at your discretion, child friend and adults only...The surprise comes now !!.. on the last day I had a flood from the room above !!! But bedbugs....seriously Sol by Melia !!?? Google probably won't post this message.., but I'll leave pictures as proof
Check in was a smooth process, and Anabel kindly upgraded my family and me from standard rooms to pool view rooms. The rooms were clean and pleasant, although quite small. I imagine it would be uncomfortable with more than 2 adults in a room. Breakfast was great with a good variety of foods. One morning the dishes weren’t labelled, but this was fixed by the next day. The pools were not too busy, and because of the cooler weather, the indoor pool was more popular. Our rooms balcony was smaller than usual due to the hotel room layout, but it still had ample space. The staff were lovely and very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is located in a good part of the area just across from the beach with many restaurants and shops nearby.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay, though I would likely choose another hotel next time for greater comfort. Just a note: the beds are made with a thin flat sheet rather than a duvet, with a duvet stored in the cupboard if needed which is a first for me and not information I’ve seen about the rooms.
Hotel is immaculate staff keep it exceptionally clean. Reception staff welcoming friendly and helpful. Food was just okay not very warm unfortunately but great variety to choose from. Pool area kept really clean and tidy staff constantly cleaning. Entertainment was great. Would highly recommended any of the Sol hotels.
Stayed at the Don pedro,
Family room very clean and quiet
I would recommend bringing own shampoo and shower gel.
Internet intermittent
Food is good but repetitive
Mostly people over the age of 60 staying at the Hotel
Stayed here for 5 nights as part of an air Canada vacation. Our first room was absolutely awful! We entered only to hear a portable fan going and the worst smell we've ever experienced. We immediately started coughing, had burning eyes and sore throats. We opened the patio door to let air in and my husband went to the front desk to complain. Staff were good, they moved us to another room but by this time, I had a massive headache and felt quite nauseous. Not sure how they could have pawned this room off on anyone! We like to tell the story of how we were gassed on our dream holiday to Spain!
The resort itself is fine, basic. We had upgraded our holiday -wonder where we would have stayed had we not?? Happy hour was a highlight and the proximity to the beach is wonderful!
Stayed in the Sun Deck room which are a bit dated but have all the requirements needed
Free safe and excellent WiFi all over the hotel
Breakfast is average for a 4 star hotel
You can use the facilities of all 3 hotels in the resort
No issues with sunbeds
Food and drinks are expensive on site especially when you less than 100m from restaurants and bars on the strip
Would return
Hotel was nice, rooms however were very small and there was no mention of how loud the entertainment was every single night. Some nights it went on until 11.30pm and others was 11pm. As a family hotel it felt very late to be having such a loud event on until. I think with a lot of people traveling to the hotel with kids / babies this is really inconvenient. Pools are lovely & the aqua aerobics was fantastic!
All of the reception staff were lovely bar 1 girl (Elena) I approached Elina in the corridor to ask her something and she put her hand up infront of me and interrupted me saying I work reception and walked away! I found this completely unprofessional and very rude. She didn’t even give me the chance to ask my question. I could have been asking anything but she never gave me the chance. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from a hotel staff member.
Staff are polite and professional , everywhere is spotless , appears very safe , entertainment as expected , daytime activities like darts exercises etc , noisy some nights due to family having no respect for others banging on doors , food was plentiful and replenished regularly , i did not like the meat but there was plenty options salads , pizza pasta fish chicken etc , beautiful cakes and deserts , paid for wine and water extra , breakfast lovely lots options , a queue for the omelettes Wi fi generally ok sometimes slow , pools fine , ample available sunbeds the only fault i had was some rooms do not receive sun until late evening mine was on second floor facing a car park no sun all day ( booked via booking .com so be sure to specify if this is important to you ) rooms small but ample for my needs except for view and lack of sun .
Lovely hotel. It's 3 connecting hotels. Entertainment everyday. Staff were always at reception and polite. Reason I gave it 4 stars - the room for 3 adults was not great. Fairly small room and the bathroom is even smaller - which is a shame because from the outside, the building is really nice.
Lots of food choices to pick from, but it does not massively change day-by-day
I ate in the adjoining sister hotel where I had been advised by other guests that the food was of a higher standard. I was very pleased with the quality and variety of meals. It was however disappointing to see many guests wearing pool-side clothes to dinner.
Lovely hotel, nice room rain shower, decent bed balcony ok, good variety of breakfast food available. Place was very clean.nice swimming pools. Location spot on. No complaints from us.
The good points of these 3 hotels are
1. Very well situated on the seafront
2. Cleanliness excellent
3. Staff all very friendly
4. Brand named drinks
Now the not so good points
1. The food was poor, too much repetition on all courses. A lot of sloppy dishes on main courses and carved meat were dry and tough. We ate out 4 evenings on all inclusive.
2. The reception Staff were very slow in serving guests. We waited 15 minutes whilst 2 people were there being served by 2 receptionists.
3. Not enough bar staff to serve the number of guests. Long queues.
4. Bedrooms very small but adequate.
The hotel was fab. We were given a room with a little terrace with sunbeds which just made our stay even better. The staff were friendly, around the pool was lovely with no sun bed wars, great location with options to use facilities in other two sols! Rooms were cleaned daily. I had asked extra towels for hair on one occasion and the cleaner was so thoughtful the next couple of days and left us spare.
Out flight wasnt until 9pm. Late check out was unavailable but we were provided with a courtesy room to have a shower in etc. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed.
Only one little thing which slightly tainted our stay (but would not put me off going back by any means) was the fact that we would go down for breakfast between 9:40 and 9:50. Breakfast ended at 1030 however it felt that by 10:15, the selection available was minimal due to it coming toward the end of breakfast. I waited one day morning for sausages. When I cut into it and ate it, the inside was cold and when I looked, I realized they hadn't been cooked through which put me off for the last couple of days.
But overall it was a fabulous holiday and have already looked at dates again!!
An excellent hotel on the beach front, great food, great facilities, very friendly & helpful staff
