Essen in Buffetform wenig abwechslungsreich.
The amount of collaborators was good, they were very helpful, the food in Graciosa and Samira Restaurants was excellent, also the club sandwiches, the rooms were very nice
The TV in room was outdated, it was a nightmare to schedule dinner in the 2 good restaurants; there were no power socket to relax and be on the computer; in the room also there were few power sockets; I couldn't transport food from ginger bar to the room; there was not a big variety of things to eat when restaurants were closed.
After more than a decade, we feel that the Reserve pool is trully heated !
At last more choice for vegetarians in the Malva Food Bazar .
A doubling of the number of Bali beds at the Reserve pool is positive.
I find however that too many customers are guests at the Reserve pool.
Compared to a decade ago, when the Pool belonged to The Level experience, it has become overcrowded and this has reduced the old feeling of “exclusivity” .
Room service is trully impeccable ! Bravo.
All our special requests have been taken into account..
And last but by no means least , kudos to Delgado, the true soul of the Reserve Pool Bar , who has become a good friend through all these years.. He always does his best to satisfy the pool bar customers. One can notice the difference in Feng Shui on his days off !!
And a big thanks to Paula, our concierge, who took really good care if us!
Good job !
Nice welcome but no bubbly (only for reserve guests) come on its AI it would not matter if give to everyone and would make feel more special. Shown to room which was nice , comfy beds ok size everything spotless, but it was not the afternoon sun room we had requested. I did point this out and they moved us a couple of days later.
I love this hotel. Lovely , fantastic therapeutic decor.
Pool - slightly cool but salt water but huge and empty .
Activities- These are what makes this hotel extra special. They did lots of keep fit/ relaxations/ pilates/ yoga it was like been at a spa retreat . Especially the ones held next to the beach, bliss
Also did glass making, made a great necklace.
Aloe vera , was good and won a massage.
Therapeutic painting - really enjoyable
Book marker painting - missed this as wrong time on app
Cocktail making - tried to get on several times but full 😔
Wine /cheese/ jam tasting was good
Evening entertainment - was good not brilliant and a bit loud sometimes if you just wanted to chill and chat after evening meal the only place to go was outside really but bit cold.
Restaurants - main restaurant had great variety of food. Was really nice . If ii had to give suggestions to improve it would be ;
Breakfast is advertised until 10-30 but if came down after 9-30 reduced choice. I love berries but none left . Had to find someone and they did get me some . Most times . I love croissants but none left ever , so never had one. But was told on last day could order from ginger bar. Shame because food was good.
Loved the La Graciosa tapas bar on a lunch time as didn’t have to book. A hidden gem. It was also our favourite on an evening as well and managed to go twice in the week with no problems. Loved the evening staff here. Really nice, friendly and welcoming
The other two restaurants just ok nothing special.
Drinks- good selection and some non alcoholic cocktails and spirits which i discovered at end of the week . could there be a drinks menu available ? Suggestion for this is that more staff to bring drinks please as we had to wait a while on many occasions and if you go to the bar yourself its obvious not the ‘thing to do ‘ as you get told the drinks will be brought to you.
Bar snacks available which are good . But use the app menu not the bar one as a lot more choice . We used this a lot. But in the last day as we were going and did not have enough time it took 1and a half hours to get our food and it was wrong . It was taken away and no one returned. had to buy at the airport.
Spa- had a lively session in the spa would really recommend
The best thing about this hotel is the staff 100% especially the entertainment staff. We felt as we made friends . All the staff work really hard at this hotel i just wish there were more waitering staff as it would make the stay better.
Also maybe offer some time in reserve to see if it is worth the upgrade . We met several people in reserve and they said only difference was better breakfast as the ‘nicer ‘ pool area was really quiet , boring and no atmosphere. But that may suit some people as they want total relaxation.
I would 100% return to this hotel as had the best time ever. Loved ALL the staff who made us feel extra special, with special thanks to the entertainment staff . Loved all the activities as well . The improvement points i have fed back are intended to continue to improve everyone experience . Thank you very much for one of the best holidays i have ever had.
Tout.
Rien à redire.C était exceptionnel. Personnel très sympa.

This is our 4th time at Paradisus. We had a suite which was very nice, lovely views and very clean. The food in the buffet was very good, plenty of choice. I was a bit disappointed when I had a small jar of tomato ketchup and removed the top to discover that all around the top of the jar was black which made me think that the jar had not been cleaned properly before refilling it. Also the waiters were rather scruffily dressed. It is very difficult to book tables at the Cappella and Samira resturants which is a pain. The bar at the Reserve pool was very good, food arrived very quickly and the staff were very cheerful and helpful. We had access to the Reserve Lounge which is a lovely place to pick up a drink or snack although in the evening the tables were not cleared and also glasses were not replenished so you would end up drinking a coke from a wine glass, a bit more attention to the clearing/re stocking is needed here.
Spend 7 nights here with friends, we all enjoyed our stay. The hotel is exceptionally clean & we found the rooms spacious with the most comfortable beds & pillows. Most staff members were helpful & friendly, especially Chloe, who arranged our additional requests.
Strange restaurant reservation system, but we managed to eat in Capella three times, great experience every time and twice in Samira, first time was ok, even though we thought the menu was a little ‘odd’ we went a second time, this was not so good & the service was nowhere as attentive as Cappella. La Graciosa tapas lunch was lovely, we didn’t fancy the tasting evening menu. We found plenty of variety at the buffet.
Nice to have the Ginger bar to drink in at all times. Jonay, who always wore a smile, made great morning coffee before we entered the breakfast buffet!
The hotel was full during our stay & at times the drinks service was a little slow, especially in the evenings. The entertainment was very good.
Amazing time; brilliant staff and incredible food!
Cannot fault it, no need to go to the reserve, the main hotel is incredible with everything you could possibly want to eat and drink. Entertainment was great, best holiday ever.
Clean
Staff amazing
Hotel could not do enough for us
The cats wandering around
Vapers around the pool area
We had a wonderful 5 nights at this beautiful hotel. I have no idea how anyone can say this is a 3 star hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet (from lobster tails to suckling pig!) although the labelling of the dishes could have been more thorough. We are not fussy eaters and do enjoy trying new food so it wasn't too much of an issue for us. We also don't go abroad and expect to be able to have a full English for breakfast - and nor would we want to! The food was fresh and tasty and we absolutely loved it.
The drinks both at the pool bar and at Ginger were great. The staff were friendly (although could do with a couple more waiters in the evening as it was so busy they were run off their feet!) and seemed genuinely happy.
The pool was freezing but absolutely beautiful to look at. Indeed, the whole hotel is beautiful. We loved the art everywhere and the landscaping was gorgeous. We would definitely return!
We had a wonderful stay at Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote, even though the weather was unusually cool. The hotel itself is beautiful and very relaxing, and the atmosphere throughout is calm and welcoming. What really made our stay special was the kindness and helpfulness of the staff.
I have specific dietary restrictions, and food labelling at the buffet was unfortunately often incomplete or absent. However, Mayur and Manuel from the Guest Relations team went out of their way to help me navigate the buffet. They coordinated closely with the kitchen and arranged for chefs Armiche, Marcial, Mario or Kevin to walk me through the buffet, explain which dishes I could eat, and sometimes prepare special meals for me. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and made it easy for me to follow my diet.
I would also like to thank the fantastic entertainment team — Soraya, Blen, Maria, Erasmo, Armando, Joana, Barbara, Clara and Raquel — for the great variety of activities they organized. I joined many classes, including yoga, pilates, cycling, workout sessions, stretching, Latin dance and meditation, as well as some art workshops. I even tried beach volleyball and SUP pilates — even though I found both quite challenging. The instructors were always patient and encouraging, and made the activities enjoyable for everyone, regardless of level.
The weather during most of our stay was unfortunately cooler than usual. As the hotel does not have central heating, the room sometimes felt rather cold, but the staff quickly provided an electric heater, and the entertainment team organized plenty of enjoyable indoor activities.
One small drawback for us was the cold water in the pool, which unfortunately made swimming difficult to enjoy. I understand that the weather during our stay was unusually cool for the area and the season, but heating the pools would make swimming much more pleasant.
Overall, we had a truly memorable stay and felt very well looked after by the entire team. We would happily return — hopefully with better weather.
Another excellent visit to this hotel, our 6th time. Every year it gets better and better. Just wanted to say a great big thank you to ALL of the staff at this hotel; from the cleaners, maintenance people and servers to the receptionists and managers you all go above and beyond so thanks again. A special word for manager Chole whom solved a sight hiccup we had within minutes. And a final word for the bar staff in the Reserve pool bar you were all fantastic thank you. We will be back.
Another fabulous week at the Melia Paradisus Salinas! From the second we arrived till our departure, we felt relaxed. It was instantaneous. We received a warm and friendly welcome.
As our room was not quite ready, our first port of call was to La Graciosa for a tapas lunch. It was as delicious as we remembered it, from two years previous. Langoustines, local cheeses, wine and many other dishes.
Our room was light and airy with beautiful seaviews from our balcony. It was clean and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable.
During this visit we ate at each of the three à la carte restaurants in the evening, and also the buffet restaurant. As I have coeliac disease, I am always very concerned about not getting glutened and fear of cross contamination. I was helped tremendously by the chefs and staff in all the restaurants, including the buffet. In the buffet I asked for help, it did mean waiting to speak with a chef, but it wasn’t a problem. We really loved the à la carte restaurants. I was kept safe in all eating areas , thankfully. ☺️
The only recommendation I would have for the hotel buffet would be to keep the gluten free desserts totally away from normal desserts. There is a small sign, but they are just in the middle of all the other desserts, so it is not very clear or safe. That said there is a dedicated gluten free breakfast area, perhaps this area could be used for gf desserts at other mealtimes? I either avoided dessert or asked for one from the kitchen.
The pool was clean and lovely, Despite not having the best weather during our week away, it was nice having the odd swim and relaxing by the pool with a book.
On this trip we discovered that the spa area has an indoor jacuzzi pool and sauna area. We could rent this out for an hour at a time for the two of us. It was marvellous! A real gem. We used it twice.
I used the gym, it’s well equipped with modern equipment. I also attended a meditative art session with headphones, which was run by the entertainment team- fabulous time, wish I’d gone to more. My husband went to a yoga session, which he enjoyed.
We spent lovely evenings relaxing in the Ginger Bar, listening to live music with perfectly made cocktails and delicious wine.
We stayed in the normal area on this trip, but stayed in the reserve area on our last trip. Love this hotel, whichever part we stay in!
All the staff were wonderful.
We hope to return at somepoint.
Many thanks ☺️
Came here and stayed in a Garden Villa, which was not cheap. Lots of great things about the resort but also lots of things that weren't great.
High points:
- Villa was nicely designed with beautiful outdoor area
- No annoying pool music
- Was nice to be able to order room service
- Enjoyed the ice cream and hotdogs at Shack bar
- Frozen cocktails were nice
- Canarian restaurant at lunch very good
- Loved the little treats left in room
- Great chocolate cake on buffet
- Italian restaurant has great pizza and mussels, though some other items not so good
Low points:
- We arrived around 9.30pm and were offered a quick hotel tour, the person assigned to do this said actually she was going home soon and we would find it all on our own (we did, but still not great first impression)
- Cockroach and other insects in villa when arrived. Someone treated the villa the next day, but this should be done before arrivals.
- Air conditioning in Villa poor, worked great in bathroom but barely at all in bedroom even though they said it was fully functional, we had to keep thebathroom freezing so that some cool air would come through to bedroom
- Bath was beautiful but took literally hours to fill
- Sofa doesn't turn into a bed so no option to sleep separately if someone's snoring!
- No apparent drinks service to Villa so had to go to bar, try and walk back and reopen Villa door while holding drinks, very awkward and led to spills
- Drinks often made wrong or not with requested garnishes/salt. Reseve bartender refused to make Miami Vice which is just pina colada and strawberry daiquiri, even though he said he knew how to, because it wasn't in his "official book", despite other bartenders apparently making anything people wanted.
- WhatsApp room service very hit and miss, sometimes we would be ignored for an hour and end up just ringing order in
- Loved getting breakfast delivered but sometimes waffle would be freezing cold in the middle, or other issues
- Lebanese restaurant just awful. Like, inedible. Went to buffet afterwards
- Canarian restaurant not great at night. Rolls and butter were nice though!
- Villa was next to pool and towards the end of our stay a group came and were constantly screaming, seemed to be being overserved
- Beach bar not included in AI even though when we booked it was
Would we go again? Yes but only if improvements were made, the most important one for us would be drinks service to the villas, which would help to justify the extremely high cost.
Had a fabulous time at the Paradisus Salinas. The hotel has great amenities, food was excellent and the a la carte restaurants were great especially the Spanish Tapas and Italian. The entertainment team were exceptional especially Barbara and Maria who always took time to go though what was going on that day, we attended the Mojo making where chef Kevin showed us how to make both red and green mojo sauce with all ingredients and utensils supplied, it was a great event. We also did glass necklace making, pilates, hotel tour and other activities. We met lots of other guests at the hotel especially in the smokers area, all were very friendly and great to chat to!
We really enjoyed our 10 night stay last March, so decided to return this March for a quick weeks break. The hotel was full.
Sadly we left disappointed. The hotel seems to have slipped in terms of standards. We always felt is wasn’t quite 5 star, but this year that’s more evident.
The good points- the staff! They really are wonderful. Cheerful and very professional. Just not enough of them. So they are overworked - it’s a credit to them how cheerful and helpful they are.
The majority of the inner communal areas are clean.
The reception staff are helpful and check in and out was easy and pleasant.
The Canarian restaurant at a lunchtime is absolutely fantastic. Lovely fresh sea food, great service and lovely views of the sea. You can even watch a game of tennis if you’re lucky.
The pool does seem to be a bit warmer this year, and plenty of people using in.
The pool bar food is very good.
Ginger bar - great selection of branded spirits and they will make any cocktail of your choice. We’re not big drinkers, but if we were, we would have been very satisfied. Lovely staff and great coffee too.
The not so positives-
The pool area needs a refresh. Peeling paint around the pool areas and the pool surface itself, despite the pool being cleaned each day, it was filthy with dirt, grit and debris from the trees- missed during the cleaning! The floor around the sunbeds was grimy and not mopped. Not what you expect from a hotel that claims to be 5 star. No one comes around to clean empty cups etc. which isn’t a huge issue, but you would expect this attention to detail of a 5 star hotel. The sun beds are very uncomfortable.
The pool bar often has long queues as there is only one member of staff serving other than at lunch time.
The buffet restaurant has got worse. The food just isn’t 5 star standard. Most of it is prepared back of house and lukewarm. There aren’t enough staff to replenish your drinks or clear your plates away promptly, we often ate our desserts amongst a pile of plates from other courses. The seafood evening was fantastic, but other than that it was very much a canteen experience this year.
The beach bar didn’t open for our entire stay. Despite some lovely calm and sunny weather. We were prepared to buy our drinks from the beach bar despite it being an all inclusive hotel, just to enjoy the live saxophone and singer they had on last year. We were very disappointed. As this meant there was absolutely nothing to enjoy during the day other than the odd day of water aerobics. The daytime activity is poor. However, as the hotel caters for the more mature generation, I understand that not everyone wants some form of daytime activity. But last year, there was water yoga, water aerobics and as I’ve said, the beach bar to enjoy.
Our room was changed at our request and we were grateful. However, they are small, and no where to store suitcases and hand luggage. But we knew this from the previous year. So we had to store them by the small table and chairs, meaning we had to drink our cups of coffee whilst sat on the bed, as impossible to sit on the balcony due to the style of chairs I’ve previously mentioned. The floors were not mopped, dusty under the bed and two small bottles of water from the mini fridge we had taken with us from the previous room were taken off us! The balcony was too dirty for my partner to do yoga on. But the house keepers were very friendly and replenished towels etc daily.
Th evening entertainment we saw was good, albeit all music based. We often left as it started.
We met some lovey people, all held similar views to our own.
The hotel is more focussed on the ‘reserve’ element- as I would imagine the service and cleanliness was more in tune with a 5 star hotel.
We won’t be returning to this hotel in the future. We wish all the staff the very best.
It was our Diamond Wedding Anniversary (60 years) in March 2026 so we decided to blow our savings on a luxurious holiday as was to be our last ever holiday abroad.
We booked an Easyjet Holiday all-inclusive to the luxury 5 star Paradisus Salinus By Melia in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote. What a disappointment!!
We consider this hotel is pretensive and well over rated and in our opinion it should be 3 Star at the very best.
The Reception Area.
All very nice and quite impressive, however we did not receive or be offered a glass of any refreshment upon arrival as would be expected from a claimed 5-star luxurious hotel. We were not offered an upgrade to higher level as other guest had been, but as a further cost of £2,000 plus, we did not have the money to do so.
The room . .
The room was O.K. but not as clean as we would expect. The floor was dust free [apart from under the bed] and after being there for five days we had to ask the maid to mop the floor. The room itself was compact and nowhere to put the suitcases so they sat on the floor against the wall close to the bed. The bed was very comfortable with excellent bedding. The mini-bar was a small fridge containing 2 of each cans of beer, Sprite, orange juice and water with no spirits of any kind. The bathroom was spacious and clean with a good walk-in shower and an endless supply of quality towels.
Now we come to the restaurants and the buffet or as some guests called it ‘The Canteen’.
The buffet Restaurant was literally like a motor way cafe, well understaffed with previous course plates stacked on the side of the table whilst eating second course and desserts. The wine at dinner was served as soon as sitting down but quite often just a splash in the glass by waiters although the waitresses were more liberal with it. There was lots of choice on the buffet apart from any type of chicken at all, but however the quality was definitely 3 star at the very best. Salads were plentiful and of fair quality but one soon gets tired with salads! Both on the meat and fish section, there was nothing to say what meat or fish it was. The signs just said meat or fish station.
Now we come to breakfast which was not even 3 star, there were plenty of choice of eggs all precooked and not fresh. We expected to see a breakfast chef on duty but everything was put out and most times almost cold. There was no such thing as Full English, sausages were offered twice in the 14 days we were there although there was a huge pile of hot dog sausages that nobody seemed to want. The bacon was obviously Spanish but one morning out of the 14 there was English bacon which went so fast the cook couldn’t keep up with the demand. The whole tomatoes were hard but there was a plentiful supply of watery baked beans which was constantly topped-up. There were pancakes, waffles and Churros but they all turned out to be cold and dry . We asked for fresh pancakes and waited 5 minutes until a new tray came out which were the same, very unappitizing. Not leaving us much choice for breakfast , we had the same every day – orange juice, coffee, scrambled egg and toast.
The specialty restaurants were very difficult to book but we managed to eat twice in the Italian restaurant one of which I booked previously from home for our 60th Anniversary and once with reception. Both times were very good with excellent food and service. The speciality Canarian restaurant was nothing special. We had a choice of three set menu’s to choose from - fish, vegetarian, or meat. We both chose meat which was passable with 2 glasses of house wine each.
We did not go into the Middle Eastern restaurant so cannot comment on it.
The main bar was good and had entertainment every night at 9 pm which we did not attend so we cannot comment on it.
The Grounds
The grounds are well cared for with paths and bridges and the pool is well designed with plenty of sun beds . I believe the water is sea water and whether it is heated or not I cannot say
Check-out
When we came to check-out we were given a bill for 134 Euro’s for a special meal that they said we had in the Canarian Restaurant. We refused to pay this and stated that we were all-inclusive and ate and drank the same as all the other guests. There was another guest contesting her bill at check-out at the same time. We could not wait to speak to the manager because our taxi was waiting to take us to the airport . Our very efficient booking agents at Camel Travel in Lanzarote contacted the hotel on our behalf and had the bill was cancelled. We did not get a letter of apology from the hotel for their error !
Conclusion. This hotel is pretending to be something it is not . The 5 star rating might apply to the level upgrade whilst the standard booking is only three star at best. We feel very bitter about our holiday which was to celebrate a once in a lifetime event which was totally spoilt and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
