Junior suite was 1st class, room was cleaned, mini bar stocked and sheets turned down at night.
Just leave door sign out when you leave the room.Clean pool towels and bathroom towels each day. All inclusive really is all inclusive. Staff friendly and send WhatsApp messages to make sure everything was fine during our six day stay. Room was huge plenty of room.
You would need to be really picky to find something wrong at this resort. We got what we paid for.
Beds were nice, what's not to like about all-inclusive? Staff goo I guess.
Bird hygiene. Why are birds allowed to sit and poo food all day, every day?
Wonderful entertainment. So much fun, loved all the activities and the team is so nice. A big thanks to Barbara, Maria, Blen, Soraya, Armando, Raquel, Erasmo, Joana, Clara, Victor and Martha. The Paradisus Martini was delicious.
The hotel has made our week very enjoyable , staff excellent right across all departments. We hope to return , and thanks to chats with Christina , and another lovely lady who’s name i can’t remember begins with S , who we’re all ways there to help. A chat with Cassie yesterday in reserve was appreciated , we will book it.
I think our biggest disappointments were the ginger bar and permanently open sliding doors , ok in summer , but the winds have made it very cold (no reflection at all on staff) I really don’t want to sit in a bar with fleece and scarf on ! There is no other area to enjoy a quiet drink .
Also the challenge of restaurant bookings . At check in a smiling gentleman told us to go on the ap at. midnight to book 2 days in advance.
Both points that I’ve covered have come up many times , I really think action IS required.
A big thank you goes out to my email on 21st February asking is a table could be reserved on the 28th for our anniversary ( knowing from reviews would be difficult for us to do )
A quick reply back with such a nice message , a card a fiz in the room and even a mention when we had our meal on the Saturday was really appreciated . Thank you all , last
Few minutes on balcony before we leave for airport , very sad to be going
The hotel is impressive, from the amazing interior open lobby to the pool areas and the beach bar. We had a great view from our room. We were impressed by the quality and variety of food throughout the hotel. We never got bored with the options available and we tried all three in house restaurants where service was impeccable. We also enjoyed the evening entertainment which was of a really high standard and again very varied. Most importantly, every single member of staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly.
Not sure how this hotel can be classed as 5 star, more a 3 star.
Positives: lovely, friendly staff
Beautiful landscaped interior gardens
Room clean
NEGATIVES
Buffet restaurant - food selection poor, and cold.
Meat and fish dried out due to over cooking
Terrible availability to get into the other 3 restaurants. You can only book 2 days in advance and even staying up till midnight you can only get a late booking. It appears reception staff keep reservations back for certain guests.
When we did get a booking for 930 in the Italian, lovely food but half tables empty so not sure why we couldn’t have earlier reservation.
We paid for the reserve section which should have meant an area for guests where additional snacks and drinks available. However this was rarely stocked up and tables not cleaned. Very poor service and the reserve section reception, lovely when you check in but then don’t want to know about complaints after. They just smile and say hotel busy! The pool area was nice in the reserve area. Not so nice in the other area, as noted by others.
The worst is the hard sell to try and make you sign and pay for Melia circle membership which if you read reviews on this scheme it’s a rip off.
The experience we had at our first ever Melia hotel, means we will never book a hotel in this chain again.
Very expensive mistake made.
Definitely not 5 star. On arrival offered water nothing else first mistake. Paid for premium room don’t know why as all rooms face over sea basically. Room was adequate although sharing it with 5 cockroaches over ten days not funny. The pool area is wonderful but no service at all if you want something get it yourself. I am a smoker for my sin so the only place one can smoke is a small area with no lights, I managed to get a heater put there but it was never put on. We were there in high winds not pleasant when one is dressed for dinner. The new lay out since reformed offers you only one place to drink, hear the evening music as is the walk through to the so called dining room, it is a cafeteria where one has to queue of an evening to get a table or sit in the bar. The food was plentiful to look at but not good at all I lived on soup mainly and majority of my fellow smokers went out to eat. Did not try any of restaurant’s as fellow passengers did not report anything good. To be fair one night they excelled with a seafood display. Will not be returning to this very expensive hotel.
Overall very nice. Food good, nice staff. Booking of speciality restaurants can be a nightmare. Go to reception first thing in the morning & they will help you.
Sunloungers for a 5 star hotel are very uncomfortable. How you expect people to lay on these is beyond me. The hotel say on reviews where other people have commented about the sunloungers that our feedback helps & has been passed on to the relevant department, how many times do you pass it on before you sort it out. Its not difficult, get some padding.
Good points.
Clean hotel, nice pool , hardworking barstaff. Nice rooms.
Bad points.
Met by a lovely man on arrival whose uniform had never seen an iron ever and when he turned around his shirt and trousers were filthy. First impressions count
Pool sunloungers have no pads so really uncomfortable. Very uneven paths surrounding pool so not good if you are unsteady on your legs. No pool waiters you have to get your own, towels on sunbeds from early morning.
2 deckchairs on room balconies which are so low even fit people struggle to get out of them also after 10 nights vacation here the balcony was never swept or cleaned. Also bedding was never changed all our stay.
The themed restaurants are impossible to book, you are told to book 2 days before and to ring at midnight but even then you cant get in unless 9pm is ok.
The main buffet restaurant has the worst food we have ever eaten so nearly every night we ate out as did a lot of people, shame as its all inclusive.Breakfast was ok and lunchtime was just about passable. We had to queue to get in and 1 day we counted 20 guests in front of us The choice was awful, meat was either practically raw or like shoe leather, vegetables were luke warm and only once did we see chips, no mash at all. Badly set out, guests walked around in a daze looking for something to eat. 2 mornings no english tea and when i asked a waiter for some teabags his reply was no we have run out. Eventually we asked to speak to a manager as we had paid £4000 for 10 nights so didnt expect this. No results from our talk.
Listening to other guests everyday people were talking about the bad food, people were unhappy with the food which is bad considering its down as a 5☆.
Complain as much as you like but nothing gets done.
We had a beautiful holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our Reserve experience. We spent most of our time relaxing around the Reserve pool, which was absolutely perfect. The staff were all excellent—attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. A special mention to Jonatan, who makes a mean cocktail and always serves it with a smile on his face. He truly added to the experience! We wouldn’t hesitate to return.
La gentillesse du personnel , la qualité des restaurants et l’ambiance générale
Rien
Lovely hotel, great vibe and lots of amazing opportunities
Our 2nd visit here. Has much improved since 2 years ago. Food in Malva buffet restaurant excellent. Speciality restaurants excellent although the Italian was our least favourite. Being gluten free i made a comment on the app and was contacted by the customer service team who couldn't have been more helpful including offering to make specific meals if I wanted them to. Staff all delightful. Small gripes. Sunbeds round main pool not the most comfortable. Booking of speciality restaurants needs to be done via app at midnight, however I do believe that if you go to reception first thing in the morning they keep some reservations back if you don't want to use the app. We will definitely return
The food offer was truly excellent. Wonderful choice and beautifully cooked. The staff were so kind and friendly and very, very helpful at every return.
We didn’t like one member of staff trying to “sell” as something on our first day. A note was put in our room asking us to contact this person which we did out of politeness. Unfortunately, he was trying to sell us something and we were on holiday!!! we didn’t feel this was appropriate.
