I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. When I checked into my room, I noticed ants in several areas, which was both unpleasant and unacceptable. A clean and pest-free room should be a basic expectation for any hotel.
What made the situation even worse was the customer service. When I brought the issue to the attention of the front desk, the lady working there was very rude and unprofessional. Instead of trying to help resolve the problem, she seemed annoyed and dismissive of my concerns.
Between the ant problem and the poor treatment from staff, my stay was far from enjoyable. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.
It was in a quiet location. Sleeping was sound.
Staff at Reception desk not friendly. Pointed out that reservation was made through a 3rd Party. Insisted on a $150.00 deposit for potential damages. That was a 1st.
Coffee or Tea only available in the lobby. Ice maker was disgusting. I have pictures
Ideal location if taking the MARC Commuter Rail from or to Washington. Monocacy station is 15 minutes walk. On arrival I had a bit of a shock as it is changing hands from Choice Sleep Inn to IHG. However no issues with my reservation. A lot of the rooms are out of use pending refurbishment for the new chain. My room was a newly refurbished one so could well have been better. Two double beds. Everything else fine Bathroom was good. WiFi worked well. Breakfast was basic grab and go with coffee. The small area for sitting down has all the chairs put upon the tables so not really providing a facility to sit down. Again maybe part of the transition from Choice to IHG.
The hotel is currently under construction and we should have been told at time of reservation. Upon arriving in room there was a bug on the wall and in the morning in the bathroom. You could tell the room was old and needed to be replaced and bedding was very low quality. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we felt if the hotel and room wasn’t discounted or discussed with us, then quality of breakfast would also be under par. Very disappointed and will not stay again.
Decent for a Sleep Inn. They are undergoing renovations, so don't expect perfection yet. The breakfast was cold cereal and a carafe of milk, bagels, english muffins, and mini muffins wrapped in Saran wrap, a few raspberry yogurts, and a waffle maker. No protein, no variety of yogurt, and the tables and counters were dirty. I hope this improves with the renovations.
I recently stayed at the Sleep Inn in the Frederick, Maryland area and checked out early Monday morning, March 30th, around 1:00 AM to catch an Uber to the airport.
From start to finish, my experience was excellent. The front desk staff across all shifts—morning, evening, and night, Sunday through Saturday—were consistently exceptional. Everyone I encountered was professional, welcoming, and helpful. The housekeeping team was also outstanding and maintained a very clean and comfortable environment throughout my stay.
One feature I truly appreciated was the flooring. I’m not a fan of carpet due to hygiene concerns, so the wood-style floors were a huge plus for me and made the room feel even cleaner and more modern.
This stay was especially memorable for me because I became a Titanium Choice Privileges member during my visit, which made the experience even more special.
I will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Frederick area.
