Location, breakfast, room
Initially put in room 112 which was tony, cold and not an executive room which I booked. Awfully disappointed until I complained and asked to be moved to the room I had booked
Staff were very polite, friendly and local (georgie) which are the most frendliest. Love that.
The hotel had students/young people protesting on and around the hotel for several hours. Too many contacts with strangers with political views which became nuisances at different stages of the entry and exiting the hotel. Once away away from the hotel, or inside the hotel, it was fine.
Friendly, welcoming and helpful reception, nice airy foyer and the bar was inviting, lively and good food served quickly. We were visiting the Freeman Hospital so the location was ideal for us and was close to shops, restaurants and coffee shops. The room was clean with comfy beds.
There wasn't anything we didn't like and would definitely go back again and would recommend the Caledonian.

Looks nice from outside, nice reception. Terrible rooms
The rooms were awful
Really good location with ample and easy to find parking for commuters. Staff really helpful and signposted everything easily, dealt with any request quickly. Room was really nice and quite big.
Nothing.
This was our secong time here. The receptionist when we entered was lovely. Our room was nice and spacious and breakfast options were really good. Continental and full english on offer. We had a couple of drinks in The Phoenix in the afternoon and it was busy, the atmosphere was great. You also need to try Rio Brazil restaurant straight across the road from the hotel. Food was amazing. There's plenty pubs and restaurants around about and a Waitrose about 100 yards away.
Nothing.
