Would always choose this hotel over neighbour hotels that I’ve stayed at before.
Pros:

Really nice first impression. And a smile at reception. Bottled water in the room is always appreciated. Plus the triple room had 3 x mugs, glasses and towels. So often that gets forgotten.

Cons:

Nothing to not like.

Pros:

Good value and location. Staff friendly. Large room which clean.

Cons:

Breakfast so so. Choice of coffee would have been good. Hotel probably needs a bit of tlc but possibly reflects what we paid.

Great one night stsy
Pros:

This is the second time we have stayed at the caledonian ( my husband was having day surgery at freeman ) the staff were really helpful and friendly.

Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again but on a room only basis.
Pros:

The room was very comfortable and very quiet which we appreciated. Ideal location for visiting our granddaughter at uni. We ate an evening meal in the adjoining pub which had a great menu with reasonable prices.Staff were mainly very friendly. Breakfast was ok if you had the full English. I ordered poached eggs on toast on granary as per menu to be told they only had white bloomer which was fine. When it arrived I wished I’d never ordered it. The toast was soggy and inedible as if the eggs hadn’t been drained properly first ☹️

Cons:

The fact it seemed short staffed in the breakfast area. Only one member of staff appeared to be working and therefore we had to find her to get a second drink.

Overall, very good hotel with nice facilities
Pros:

Spacious airy room. Clean linen and welcoming reception area with plenty of seating.
Nice bar and bedroom looked recently decorated - in good condition.

Cons:

Lovely hotel that lets itself down with slightly disorganised breakfast - now witnessed at both stays that were have had here - with staff offering tables to customers where customers are already sitting - and obviously not at the table at the time as are getting their breakfasts.
Tables not cleared very quickly neither.
