The setting is lovely. I like to go for a walk after meals and it is so easy to do so in the grounds

Very pleasant, answered our needs for a comfortable overnight stay.
Pros:

We just stayed one night. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the receptionist.

It served its purpose. Not as nice as it was 5 years ago.
Pros:

The communal areas are clean and tidy and the hotel looks nice from the outside. The bed was comfortable and the room large. Staff pleasant

Cons:

The bedroom wall paper was peeling from the walls and there was a large amount of mould in the bathroom. Furniture was a tad tired. Bedrooms really need refurbishment.

Breakfast let the experience down.
Pros:

The staff were very friendly, helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The location was peaceful just perfect for chilling out in the evenings. The evening meal and the food cooked to order was faultless it was tasty, juicy and a perfect plate of food. Top marks to the kitchen staff.

Cons:

The hot breakfast it was serve yourself and kept warm in heated containers. The first day we had a early breakfast it was just warm enough and just edible, the second day we got to breakfast about 90 minutes after the start of breakfast the hot food had dried up, the sausages were like balsa wood, bacon just snapped under the knife and the beans thay were like a thick stodge with crispy bits in.
The continental side of the breakfast saved the day fresh, tasty and enjoyable.

Would not use again
Pros:

Rooms insanely hot. No air con. They don't have any fans. I asked for one at reception and the member of staff (who was sat in front of a fan enjoying the cooling) told me this. The windows of rooms are tethered and only open a crack. Mosquitos get in if you open it so you take a chance getting bitten to pieces. Breakfast room has a pile of dead flies in corner. Would never use again for these reasons. The bar is ok and food is nice. But if you cannot sleep comfortably, what's the point?

Pros:

Location in grounds very nice.

Cons:

Tried 3 rooms all were awful and not as described. Pool and gym out of order.

Evening meal was inedible and breakfast terrible.

Dining room had damp and crumbling ceilins.
