i love the age and and history of the Manor hotel, beautiful inside and out, with lovely views down to London some miles distance, nice helpful staff, full English breakfasts, and evening dinning with a choice to suit most pockets, it can be reached by taxi from Elstree and Borhamwood train station, the Thameslink trains are frequent down into London, it is possible to walk too and from the hotel if you need to to visit Elstree, at a little over one mile, but the roads are very busy
all was well, i can't think of anything to dislike
Old cool with soul
Staff excellent, loved the room with fantastic view, good food, and a fascinating building.
Blaring eighties pop and disco music. Definitely not in keeping with the ambience of the historic building.
Very pleasant stay and good service
The hotel is a lovely old building with loads of character. The patio and bar area are great for relaxing. There is plenty of space in the grounds to wander and relax
The double bed was small.
Location
Nothing
Location is very good and not busy
I didn't explore, so can not answer
We liked the room, we requested interconnecting and we got that. The bathrooms in the rooms were quite nice and we were on the ground floor so we could open doors to go outside which was convenient. Jo was lovely at reception.
It was a little out of the way from everything else, we didn't realised how secluded it was! Not very modern, the bar was very small and we found the restaurant/food situation abit confusing. There was no phone in the room to reach reception there was only a QR code to order room service so communication felt difficult unless you went up to the front desk which was abit of a trek from the room and even then it seemed a little understaffed.
Location and value
Room down quite a lot of stairs
The location
The bed was far too small.
The room was advertised as a superior double room. The bed was a big single bed.
Relaxed atmosphere. Superb, peaceful location. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff
Fabulous food and cocktails.
Na
Breakfast consisted of bacon, eggs toast tomatoes and hash browns. There wasn’t a meat alternative. There was watered down orange juice and teas and coffees. Nothing special.
The food was cold. The room was dusty and smelt like sewage. The staff were slow, they were polite but there wasn’t enough of them with the wedding that was going on. The bed was so soft and worn that you could feel the springs. Awful stay and sleep and if it wasn’t because of the wedding we would have checked out on the first night.
