Pros:

Excellent for a short stay if you have a definite purpose to be in Essen
Pros:

Location for my purposes, visiting Philharmonie Essen 2 nights in a row. was perfect as the concerthall is a few minutes walk away. Parking is also convenient just up the hill a bit near Museum Folkwang. Breakfast was pretty good and most days not extremely busy.
