Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff. Great location. Comfortable clean rooms. All round a lovely hotel that is in a great location for Cork city.

My recent stay st the Metropole Hotel was fantastic, the room was clean, quiet and spacious, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the location was perfect for visiting Cork, I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Cork

I went to Metropole Hotel with my husband to celebrate my 65th birthday. The hotel is in an excellent location - just a few minutes walk from the CityLink bus stop and a 10 minute walk to City Centre. The staff are all so friendly, helpful and professional. The lobby is so comfortable. The bedroom was equipped with all we asked for along with a nice surprise for my birthday. I could not fault either our evening meal or breakfast.

Great two night stay in the heart of the city. The Metropole hotel has undergone a massive renovation but has managed to keep it's old world elegance with new world comfort. Each and every member of staff were extremely professional but had a warmth that made you feel relaxed the moment you opened the front door of the hotel.

Going from the bus station to the train station & feeling peckish, I treated myself to cappuccino & pancakes. Thoroughly enjoyed.

The location was convenient but with that came some extra noise from the street. Room was dated and stuffy, even with the radiator turned off. For the price we had higher expectations of comfort and service. It was surprising that nobody helped initially with luggage on arrival and not at all on departure.

Charming romantic hotel in a great area. Buy the breakfast package, it’ll keep you going all day. And stop by the bar at the end of the day. The hotel is in easy walking distance from train and bus stations and is just across the bridge from city center. Just wonderful.

I have NEVER, in all my travels, had such a horrible experience with a hotel. I booked 2 rooms through Capital One Travel and had confirmation from the travel site and the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel at 5 pm on a Thursday, I was told the reservation was canceled. They could not tell me who canceled it and said the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do. We spent an hour calling hotels in Cork City. Nothing available. We finally found a BNB and had to drive 45 minutes into the countryside. I called the hotel later that night to ask them to look into this. They hung up on me. I have emailed them several times to ask for an explanation. NO RESPONSE. Is this how far this hotel has dropped under the "leadership" of the new general manager, Louise McNamara? I suspect that there was some event (and that's why everything was fully booked) and they simply canceled me because I used a third party payer. AND the room was already paid through Capital One and they did not reimburse me until I called Capital One Travel and got them involved. Now, I feel I must contact every hotel I book, even when I have a confirmation. Thanks Metropole to adding yet another task to my never-ending to do list. Unbelievably bad service! It's a shame becaue the hotel lobby and bar seemed just the type of upscale, historic property that I love, but I must say, DO NOT EVER stay at the Metropole Hotel in Cork City, Ireland!!

What a fabulous experience. Walked into the lobby and were met by the lovely Eamon - what a gentleman and character. Set the tone for our two day stay - every staff member we encountered met us with a greeting and a smile - A bit well done to Olin in the restaurant - he was under pressure but kept calm and had a smile and a word for each table - very professional and charming young man. You should be so proud of your team. The food was fab and we are planning a return trip. Well done to all and keep up the good work. Mary Clarke

Great location, handy for the main shopping street and situated near a lot of nice restaurants, cafes etc. Every time I stay I seem to get a nicer room each time.

The hotel does show it's age in places (e.g. carpets, decor). But overall, a nice hotel, good service, and the food was excellent.

The hotel is ideally located, just a 10-minute walk from the train station, which makes it extremely convenient both for business and leisure stays. The place is comfortable, well maintained, and offers excellent services throughout the stay. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help, which really makes a difference. Overall, a very pleasant experience with great value for money. I would definitely recommend it.

Great central location and priced well. Friendly staff and I was able to check in early which was great.

We visited the hotel with our friends from Germany. We wanted a nice location to chat as we were meeting them for a few hours. We met in the Foyer and had coffee and scones. The food was excellent and the staff were superb. We were welcomed and looked after to a very high standard by all the staff. We subsequently remained and had lunch. The food was superb. Service and follow up was the best. Staff offered to take our group photo before we left. We had a great visit with our International guests and The Metropole staff showed a Cead Mile Failte.

Went for Lunch with family the hotel looked very well carpets and furnishings very nice very pleasant atmosphere food was a typical Lunch menu well.presented what really stood out was staff particularly Emily who couldn't do enough very personal very friendly worth going to for service which was excellent

i got lost trying to find my way to the hotels lobby and found a man with long hair in a pony tail smoking at the back of the hotel in a dirty metropole tshirt he was very rude to me and didn’t help he walked back inside the back of the hotel after exchanging some rude words, i hope the rest of the staff is cleaner and nicer i won’t be back to eat or stay after seeing the state of those employed

The team in the Metropole looked after us so very well, turning what could have been a disappointment into a truly pleasurable stay
