Professional property host/manager
I was with an elderly lady who couldn't use the bath because it was too high for her to lift her legs. But in all we loved every bit of our stay.
Relaxing pool area with live music on week-end.
The beach is beautiful but is littered with much plastic.
Great
A very nice resort that gives off a boutique feel with the chalets. Stayed at a junior suite chalet and absolutely loved it. It features a full sized fridge and microwave tucked away in a fairly sized kitchen space. Enjoyed the continental/buffet style breakfast as well. The staff was very courteous as well. All in all, I would definitely recommend and would stay again if I had the chance.
The staff at the hotel is excellent, the facility it self could come across dated for some. For other who dont mind it, its comfortable sleeping and conveniently accessible to ubers. The extra cost for breakfast buffet is worth it.
Beautiful room, beautiful views, excellent and professional staff. Breakfasts were excellent as well.
Lots of Flys in my room
We had warm welcome from the friendly staff and an enjoyable stay. The rooms are reasonably well maintained, welcoming and comfortable. Staff are always friendly and helpful and problems dealt with quickly. The setting in large grounds with large pool, coconut palms and extensive lawns provides a tranquil setting near the bustling city centre. The hotel is on the seafront but separated from the beach by a metal fence and locked gate - which is probably for the best. The local beach is short walk along the main road outside the hotel. The buffet meals are good quality - expensive by Accra standards. A la carte items are disappointing - menu needs refreshing. The breakfast buffet is good including cook to order eggs. On the negative side, the hotel is a little dated in some areas - they are not keeping up with maintenance in all areas. Also, they have failed to keep the occasional hawker out which can be a nuisance. It also is a sign of lax security. I will none the less return in future - still a great place to stay.
The lady who cleaned my room and the entire staff of the restaurant.
On check in was informed the pool is closed for the foreseeable. It had been closed for sometime but nobody thought to inform people when booking.
Was told we had use of the pool in hotel next door that was 4 min walk away. They lied, its almost a 20 minute walk.
Asked for a room upgrade due to no pool but was told fully booked. I saw a total of 5 guests.
First room we were given had huge gaps in side of patio doors, big enough for mosquitoes to easily fly in. The adjoining room had a door into ours that we could not lock meaning somebody could just walk in.
The second room had no power to the fan or lights. The patio doors are locked and are not able to be opened so we were told to walk outside the property to enjoy the patio.
We spent every hour we were there in the hotel next door which was much nicer meaning we didnt spend any money at this resort. After 1 day we decided to leave a day early and book lobardie beach resort next door since we were spending all our pool time there anyway.
On checking out i asked to speak to the manager but was told he was not available.
Terrible service from reception who lie to your face. I am in ghana 2-3 times a year and will not be staying here again.
Bad experience. Food not great, service not great, room smells like mold; housekeeping sprayed too much air freshener when i complained, even sprayed on my pillow and bedsheet so when I enter the room to unpack, i could not breathe.
Very nice, clean and friendly staff quiet and private compared to other beach.
The staff members were delightful. They went over and beyond to assist me. Furthermore, they had extended my check-out time as my flight was 9 hours after check-out.
The internet and aircon were on point. Room service was done properly and my items were all placed neatly on the side from the bed.
Walking around after midnight is a delight, as it is cooler, plus a view of the Atlantic Ocean/Beach - great for the soul.
Being around for over 20 years, they have maintained the hotel very well. Plus it is close to the airport. One of the best hotel experiences I've had in a long while. I look forward to visiting Ghana again and staying here for the duration of my stay in the future.
The hotel has excellent service. All staff were professional, courteous, and committed to giving guests a great experience. The propeety itself is need of work. You do not really have access to the beach. Its beyond a chain link fence with security. It is a public beach with hawkers and the like and not well kept. If you're hoping for a beach experience, this is not it. The pool is pleasant though. I had a bug incident, which staff came and handled quickly by spraying the room with me in it. Had a headache from the insecticides but powered through it. Food options on property are good. Convenient location.
Better
U
We stay at La Palm every time we visit Ghana. It is such a wonderful experience. The food, drinks, and warm staff are all amazing and you will not regret the choice to visit this beautiful place.
Had a wonderful, relaxing time. As a first time visitor, everything you needed just ask as the hotel staff were very helpful and resourceful. Safe, and security or staff were always nearby, even at night.
Overall friendly staff. Good wifi. And air conditioning functioned the entry time.
The hotel is very noisy. They organise large outdoor evening events which guests are not notified about in advance of their stay, and which go on until 3 or 4 in the morning so it's impossible to get any sleep.
Service is also very poor. I waited 50 minutes for my (very simple) order at the Ghanaian Village one night.
Location is not terribly convenient either, and while it's advertised as a beach hotel, there are no hotel facilities on the beach.
