We are huge fans of Marriott and booked this hotel because of the location to the train station and downtown. The staff were amazing and very accommodating but the rooms were not safe for older travelers.
We were given an upgrade on arrival and checked into our room after 3pm. The room was large and had a window overlooking the park. My husband has a bad back and he could not sit in the "bubble" chairs in the room. There were 3 steps up to a large bathroom with very slippery floors (even when not wet). I don't know who talked designers into barn doors and barn doors at the top of 3 steps for the bath is a recipe for disaster. There was only a tub/shower combo and that also was a challenge for my husband.
We requested a room change after being in the room about an hour. The hotel doesn't offer any rooms for handicapped accessible. We were offered and accepted a smaller room with just a shower. It was much safer. It still had the same "Bubble" chairs that were not comfortable but did look cool.
The worst thing about the room was the "art" on the ceiling. Not only did I have nightmares waking up to see it but it also surprised us each time we woke up. I guess I have to admit we are finally old!
Finally, the restaurant has mirrors to reflect the light. It was blinding when you walk in and felt like I needed my sunglasses on the whole time.
Overall it was a disappointment. I will be sure to check more carefully next time in Lucerne for something a little calmer and safer.
The Hotel Lucerne is convenient to central Lucerne and walking the old city. It is a small, boutique hotel - the front desk told us it is the second smallest Autograph Collection hotel in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. As a Bonvoy Ambassador Elite, we had two rooms and were placed next door to each other on the top floor with a private end of the hall, making for a quiet stay. The rooms were large for a European urban hotel, especially the bathrooms. Everything was very clean and had a very distinctive modern design. The staff was friendly and accommodating of family travel with kids. For the size of hotel, the breakfast buffet offered a good variety.
The only drawback was parking - the hotel has only two dedicated spots, which were already taken, so we were left to find parking on Lucerne city streets. Luckily we found a spot just a few blocks away.
Design, originalité, emplacement
Bruit du service de nettoyage, accès au parking par voie de service inapproprié pour un 5 étoiles, rapport qualité/prix.

It take almost 10 minutes for the four of us the reach this hotel from the train station since we were carrying 2 medium-large and 2 small luggages. The Hotel Lucerne located in the central area and many attractions of Lucerne are within walking distance. So many restaurants, Cafes and Bistros nearby.
Upon our arrival, we got a surprise : I got upgraded to Corner Suite facing the small garden, Library of Lucerne and a Church. The front office provide all the information we need to see the city; the way she explained made us rushing the the city right after we settled our room.
Check in and check out was very quick and seamless.
I really enjoy the breakfast as guests can choose some menus from the kitchen and the staff prepare them to our liking.
Room was spacious, very well decorated (although at the first night my wife was a bit disturbed by the painting or picture on the ceiling).
And I got a very pleasant and unforgettable memory : on the second day, the four staffs on duty drop by on our breakfast table for wishing myself a great and wonderful birthday. And I still keep the card presented to me.
Thank you for make our stay and visit in Lucerne memorable.
So, in conclusion : Perfect
Stayed here for a night while on business in Luzern. Hotel has a very nice boutique feel.
Room was huge (maybe I got upgraded as Marriott Ambassador).
But a few flaws.
There are weird LED lighting strips and lights everywhere. Some of these you CANNOT turn off. Which means you cannot sleep well.
Hotels are all about sleep. This is a major failing. I had to do my best to put pillows over these annoyances.
The room also runs warm. You cant set it to be cold at night.
And breakfast is lackluster. The omelette is more of a fried egg.
Reception staff( Alex) was really helpful.
The roof wall paper was annoying to stare at.
Sehr gute Lage nahe beim Bahnhof.
Eigene Baar.
Sehr freundliches Personal
Great location beautiful rooms
Empty mini bar
The hotel’s interiors are stunning. Best room I’ve ever slept in. Also, the staff were super nice and attentive, and the service impeccable (night of 6/11, lady at the bar also was great). They made my stay truly amazing!
Design and location were amazing.
Loved everything.
We spent three nights at the hotel in two visits, in two different rooms, during the Lucerne music festival. The best two things about this hotel were the superb design and the location. It was designed by the architect of the Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre (concert hall), and each room is an arty delight. It is compact, modern, luxurious and convenient, and the staff were helpful. The location is 5 minutes from the concert hall, the train station, and the major sights and galleries over the mediaeval bridge in the Old Town. The library square, in which the hotel is set, is charming and quiet, with an excellent restaurant, outdoors in the Summer, called Bellini.
We did not take breakfast in the hotel as it was ridiculously expensive. What a weak point for this otherwise excellent hotel.
Great boutique hotel. Amazing staff who are all very friendly and accommodating. Great location as well to centrally walk/bus/train anywhere.
We had a terrible experience at this hotel. Marriott should be embarrassed. When we checked in there was hair in the sink in our bathroom. Hotel needs lots of tlc, chipped paint everywhere. Air condition in our room was broken. Whenever we tried to run the unit the room was filled with humidity. We had to sleep with the window open and were subjected to street noise and bug bites. When we tried to get resolution the staff only could say they would try to fix it. Only redeeming points are location and breakfast. I am sure there are much nicer places to stay for the money, look elsewhere.
