Guests are advised to reserve a table in the restaurant before arrival, in order to avoid disappointment. Woodlands Park Hotel hosts weddings and celebrations throughout the year. Disruption will be kept to a minimum.
Please note, for rates including dinner, a GBP 35 dinner allowance per person is offered.
The property has a limited number of dog-friendly rooms available, which are offered on a first come, first served basis and are subject to extra fees. Please inform us at the time of booking if you will be staying with a dog. We will confirm the availability of a dog friendly room within 24 hrs of the booking being made. If no dog friendly rooms are available, we will refund your booking. A maximum of 2 dogs per room can be accommodated.
Essential roof maintenance works are taking place at the hotel from 8th June to 20th July. Scaffolding may affect the views from some front-facing rooms during this period. Location was excellent for travelling to places of interest within 1/2 hour drive and not too far from the motorway for slightly further places of interest.
Cleanliness of the hotel & grounds and the friendliness of the hotel staff.
There wasn't anything that I didn't like.
Ideal location, lovely setting
Whilst not the hotels fault there were some very noisy guests banging doors etc well past midnight. The staff were all exceptional , however as part of a family group with 6 rooms booked only 2 rooms had functioning air conditioning on what had been the hottest day and night of the year so far! I raised this issue at reception and after my complaint was seemingly accidentally overlooked, like the rest of my family i was promised a 50% refund….although the charges went through instantly , the refund is nowhere in sight. I found it fascinating that despite the managers apology we should have received contact about the lack of air con, not one of us received anything about it!
The building, grounds and food
No air conditioning in room
Excellent breakfast and dinner, attentive staff. The room was comfortable, clean and air-conditioned.
Bath and sink did not drain quickly
Staff were super helpful. Particular shout out to Amy, but the rest of the team was also wonderful. The really good air-conditioning was an unexpected benefit, as who knew it was going to hit 38°!

Beautiful historical building set in lovely grounds. Rooms spotlessly clean and up to date. Nice tea tray, robes, toiletries.
View from room was fire escape but I did request a quiet room which it was.

No critics there
Breakfast was very good. Excellent location. Staff were amazing but at dinner, simply not enough of them for the amount of guests
Lack of staff during dinner. Had to wait a while for our food. Dinner was overpriced. Had to hurdle a big bath tub to get into the shower.
Breakfast was great - fab choice and plentiful.
Aircon unit in room was a bit noisy but otherwise all good.
The grounds, the staff and the breakfast were all very good
