The hotel itself is beautiful and in an excellent location, and overall we enjoyed many aspects of our stay. I would especially like to thank Philip, who was extremely kind, welcoming and helpful. He is an excellent example of genuine hospitality and professionalism.
Unfortunately, our check-in experience with Ashley was extremely disappointing and completely different.
From the very beginning, instead of welcoming us or trying to clarify the situation calmly, Ashley told us that because we had a child with us, he would cancel our reservation. His manner and tone were unnecessarily rude and confrontational. He later changed his position and said that we would have to pay an additional charge for the child.
To be very clear, the additional payment was never the issue. I fully respect the hotel’s policies and had no problem paying any legitimate additional charge. In fact, we had already emailed the hotel before our arrival with the names of the guests and specifically mentioned the child.
What disappointed me was the way we were treated. I explained to Ashley that I respected the hotel and its policies, but that as arriving guests I expected basic courtesy, a welcome, and a professional explanation of any issue, rather than immediately being told that our reservation would be cancelled.
Instead of trying to resolve the situation professionally, his response became even more confrontational, again essentially suggesting that if we were unhappy, our booking could simply be cancelled.
I found this attitude surprisingly rude and completely inappropriate for someone dealing with guests at a hotel of this standard.
This is especially unfortunate because the hotel itself is lovely, the location is excellent, and our experience with Philip demonstrated exactly the kind of warmth and professionalism we expected.
Hospitality is not about ignoring hotel policies. It is about communicating those policies respectfully and professionally.
We only stayed one night but everything was very good.

الاثاث قديم ، بعض الغرف مافيها تكييف فقط مروحه ، الوديعة جداً غاليه 100 باوند على الغرفه ! ، النظافة بشكل عام ماكانت مرضيه ، خصوصاً في المطعم يعني اكواب الشاهي فيها بقع من الشاهي ، الملاعق كذلك .
