it was very hot weather and it would have been better if the windows could have worked properly--some were stuck

Extremely disappointed with the hotel, we were not informed at the time of booking that tge kitchens and bar had been closed because the property was up for sale, so no food or drink provided, I know it is a historic building but the interior was very tired, our bathroom was not in the best condition, the cokd water tap provided warm water. Overall not worth the money and marred our stay in Shrewsbury.

Tired, dated, empty, no soul to the hotel, lifeless,
Dirty bath, creaking floor boards everywhere. It is in desperate need of an update. It’s like something out of the 70’s. The owner should be embarrassed at offering a lifeless property as it could be so much more given its proximity in a lovely city
Location was perfect and parking was £5 per night
The rooms were really out dated and shabby the TV .(We never used) Was about 14" and dated ..the biggest problem we had , when we showered (only the once) black bits came back up out of the plug hole . disgusting. We told the guy in reception twice it needed sorting..it never was .
The beds were uncomfortable though the sheets were clean ..the lighting wasn't bright

The towel rail in the bathroom was permanently on , made it unbearably hot. The bathroom is a bit grubby. Cracked wash basin, the taps difficult to turn off properly so water drips/ runs all the time tile grout in shower nasty mold. Lack of attention to detail. Curtain needs re-fixing. Awful dated decor.
No sockets near the b led for charging the phone.
Noise from the road below l. Weirdly one window had secondary glazing, the other didn't!
