Mice! Would not recommend. Bad food. Very disappointing for the price
Pros:

Sadly wouldn't recommend.

1) There were mice in the hotel lobby! When I told them they didn't seem surprised so it seems like it's a repeat thing.

2) Dishes were dirty. They served my coffee in a very grimy mug, i told them and then sadly got an even dirtier one. This also happened at the hotel bar. The breakfast was also just not great

3) There was food on the ground in my room in the corners of the room and it was dusty when I got in.

4) Though I flagged this all that was offered was to pay for my tips ($20) that I left the hotel staff. (My stay was 800 dollars)

No manager came to talk to me or anything regarding my stay.

Noah in the hotel lobby and Phil, the bell hop were great and location is good but honestly that was the only good part. Very very disapointing way too expensive of a place for outdated, dusty rooms with bad food and honestly just grimey.

Hotel Collection hotels are usually much much better than this and i was really disapointed. Would not go to this one.

Best to think of this as a 3 star hotel to manage expectations

Location and staff shine here!
Pros:

Checked into the Philadelphia Sofitel At Rittenhouse Square for a two day (one night) Mother Daughter (via-train )trip from DC. Our room was not ready when we arrived before noon but they stored our luggage and we began our city exploration and returned mid-afternoon to check in. I had booked through AMEX travel to use an offered credit. We had never stayed at a Sofitel but they are French and very strong on service. Aca at the front desk was lovely and called me by name each time we came to the front desk. We were upgraded to a nice suite, which allowed us to enjoy the room more. Phil at the front door-welcomed us to Philly and helped with bags. Happy Hour in the liberté lounge was perfect and Sergio poured us some nice bubbly. Breakfast in the restaurant was included as they do charge and almost $40 urban experience charge. I am not sure if that is for the breakfast, but that was an addition to what I’ve already paid when I made the reservation through Amex. The breakfast was plentiful. We chose the buffet and it had many European treats on it and we each had a latte. We had a very nice server.
Our suite was comfortable, a little dated- maybe a bit tired if you want to be honest- and there was a musty odor that reminded my daughter of one of her dorm rooms! It wasn’t terribly unpleasant, but the room really needed freshening. Maybe a carpet cleaning would do the trick. All in all we had a lovely time exploring Philadelphia for two days and being based out of this hotel.

Old dirty holtel
Pros:

The location is great but this hotel is filthy dirty. Our bathroom never was swept or mopped. The same hair was left on the floor the entire stay. The toliet didn’t always flush. This is not high end hotel. It’s old and pricey. Stay at a newer hotel with amenities. I would never stay here again even if it was free.

Wonderful Stay at Sofitel
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at the Sofitel Philadelphia and were incredibly impressed from start to finish. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and offers a boutique, upscale atmosphere that feels both elegant and welcoming.

Our room was spotless and exceptionally well maintained. The restaurant staff were attentive, professional, and made breakfast such an enjoyable experience. The breakfast spread offered an excellent array of choices and everything was delicious.

The valet team was fast and efficient, which made arrivals and departures seamless, and the check-in staff were especially friendly and accommodating to our early 8am arrival — something we greatly appreciated after our red eye flight.

Every aspect of our stay reflected excellent hospitality and attention to detail. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Sofitel Philadelphia to anyone looking for a refined and comfortable experience in the city.

Philly For Baseball
Pros:

We came to town primarily to go see the Phillies play the Guardians, but we also set up a couple tours. Getting to the game from the hotel could not have been easier. The food tour we took was excellent and the hotels location was an easy 10 minute walk from the start and end of the tour.

Great Stay
Pros:

The hotel is in a great location, the beds are cozy, and the staff is excellent. Adam, in particular, went above and beyond to help with a booking snafu.

Door left unlocked by house keeping
Pros:

We stayed at the Sofitel and, while the hotel itself was very lovely, we came back after being out all day to find our door left wide open by housekeeping. Fortunately, nothing appeared to be missing and all of our belongings were still in the room.
When we checked out, I politely mentioned this to the person at the front desk. What shocked me most was her response: “Yes, that can happen from time to time.” There was no apology, no concern, and she spoke as if this was something I should simply expect as a guest.
I left feeling both annoyed and unsettled by how casually such a serious security issue was dismissed. Because of that response, I don’t think I’ll be returning to stay at a Sofitel anytime soon.

Very comfortable room, excellent breakfast options, and great location for touring Philadelphia
Pros:

This was a special occasion for us (50th anniversary) so we went higher end (for us) and were quite pleased, with just a couple of things not so good.
1. The mandatory “Urban Experience” fee costs more than it’s worth, and I can’t even apply it toward the breakfast option. Just a dreaded hidden fee. Ditch it.
2. The first 4 days of our stay there was no problem getting a table for breakfast, but on the final day it was taken up with tables people had reserved sitting empty. We learned this standing in a long line of others who also didn’t know about this, and they were holding for 12 other reservations. So we had to suggest, hey, how about you get us some to-go boxes and bowls and utensils? A convention had checked in for that morning, yet nobody ever advised us that we should make reservations for our breakfast table in any of the previous four days or when we checked in.

Rittenhouse Square is an excellent central location for touring Philadelphia and a nice place to walk around and find restaurants.

Great stay
Pros:

Stayed for two nights for work. Due to booking thru Chase I was provided a room upgrade (to a suite) along with free breakfast and $100 credit. Valet is about $75 a night, including tax. Overall the service was great - all staff I encountered were professional and helpful. Location is good as it’s close to diverse restaurants and take out places. I plan on coming back to enjoy outside of work.
