We stayed one night, the car park is free and is located behind the Crawley's High Street.
The price was quite low for a well-known brand like Ramada, but the hotel looks a little bit unmaintained and the fact that we didn't had hot water at all made us not being too surprised about it.
Well situated for high street and transport links. Lots of drinking and dining options very close. Room was cold no central heating so additional electric heater needed. A fairly historic looking building so rooms are not that modern but a bit of character. Surprisingly quiet given position on high street. Bit irritating to find front doors shut on arrival c 3.30 and took two calls to get someone to let me in to check in. Also no one on desk to check out.
No fridge.
All room doors slammed closed with no dampening resulting in frequent loud bangs.
Very strick on 12:00 check out time but reluctantly I was given until 13:00.
Very good stay
Large clean room with all the facilities that I would expect. Reception staff were friendly and helpful but.....No hot water in the morning. was told that the boiler had tripped and this was rectified, too late however as we were booking out and on a schedule. Also no breakfast available at the hotel we had to go out.
room was clean but the bed was so small
Very clean and comfortable stay. At back so slightly noisy from road.
Not the nicest, considering all hotels could do with being a bit cleaner than normal at the moment it felt a little grimy, but the sheets were clean and it was only a place to have a base to explore from because I was considering buying a house in Crawley and wanted to get a feel for the area, the Ramada is well located on the biggest high street I've ever been to.
The front desk were helpful as we arrived earlier than check in and wanted to leave the car in the carpark, which they accommodated. They were still friendly when we wanted to check in and when we checked out so in my limited conversations with staff, all boxes were ticked there.
Hotellromene hadde blitt pusset opp siden sist vi var der. De var rene og fine. Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt til i Crawley. Kort vei til butikker og offentlig transport. Rimelig og godt oppvarmede soverom og bad.
This is one of those hotels which looks really impressive from the front but if you’re arriving by car and parking at the back you wonder where on earth the office travel agent has booked you. Potholed car park which is shared with a hand wash car company and shabby back buildings. But once you get inside it feels more like the olde world coaching Inn that it used to be. Yes the floorboards creek and the plumbing was a little dubious ( I never worked out which was the hot and cold tap in my bathroom) but that’s what you get with an old hotel when the owners don’t have the money to regularly update it. The rooms are a decent size, so too the bathrooms and they’re well equipped. Hotel wasn’t serving breakfast which they were blaming on Covid which seems a bit weak nowadays, most hotels I’m staying in have returned to doing breakfast. In summary it’s fine, clean, comfortable, safe and good value. It could do with some TLC and if it got some it would be brilliant
Hotel room for the most part was okay, the bathroom was very dated with lots of black mould on the bath sealant. The shower curtain is hung in a straight rail which makes it very difficult to shower without it wrapping around you. There are only paper cups for the tea and coffee and after one use they are badly stained and don’t wash for a second use.
Stayed for 1 night. Bathroom obviously not been cleaned poo marks in the bowl. Then at 9.30 am knock on the door the housekeeping immediately let themselves in before we had chance to answer while we were still in bed was 11 o clock checkout.
Just returned from a 3 night stay at the ramada crawley. Amazing. Staff were so helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean. Several extras ie. A fan . Ironing board and iron. Free car parking. Didnt want to leave. Thank you for a great stay. Cant wait to come back.
We were up four flights of stairs, along several corridors. No lifts, no one to help carry our very heavy suitcase. When they state Restaurant closed due to Covid, they literally mean permanently closed - as in empty. No food or drinks available at all in the hotel. Room very hot, water cold. Shocked that this is a Ramada Hotel.
Disgusting place
Centrally located and easy to access.
For a Hotel under the Ramada brand it certainly is looking rather tired. The rooms need up dating. Mould in the bathroom.
Beds are comfortable.
Run down, dirty hotel with corridors smelling of weed smoke. Very shady hotel. Stayed in Sussex building room 163. Carpet old and dirty, bathroom full of mold, water in shower only a trickle. Did not sleep because was uncomfortable about the cleaness of the room and was out of there at 6 a.m. Can't believe this is a chain hotel.
Ok I’ll start with the good points. Bang in the middle of town with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. WiFi was excellent. I’m afraid that’s it. The rest of it is abysmal. Car park is a pot holed wasteland at the rear. The hotel is terribly dated and doesn’t look as though it’s had a lock of paint since the 60’s. My room was in the Sussex wing. As soon as I entered the smell of cannabis was over whelming. The Sussex wing could be renamed the Cannabis wing. The room was awful. Dark, the lights barely gave off any light. The carpet was filthy. Hairs in the bath. Clearly hadn’t been cleaned. As it was the hottest September day for a long time I wanted the room to be cool but no chance of that as the towel rail was red hot and couldn’t be turned off. Don’t think you’ll get a good nights sleep either. Noise throughout the night from people around the back of the hotel along with other guests in the Cannabis wing slamming doors, shouting etc. Would I stay again?Never. Can’t believe Ramada put their name to this place!
Good location and free parking but it’s in serious need of a make over and repair. It’s overpriced
The only thing this hotel has going for it is it’s ideal location for Gatwick Airport. That is all. I was put in the “Sussex wing” entrance through a tired exterior that reminded me of tired local authority property from the 70’s. Holes in the exterior cladding. My room a family triple was on the ground floor over looking a delightful (not) hand car wash. I should have gone on my gut instinct when I walked into reception and saw the tired decor. My room wasn’t clean, there was what appeared fo be the remnants of a pizza topping on the floor. The decor dated and drab. The white bed linen was stained. Clearly not a fresh stain, but shouldn’t have been re used if it didn’t fully wash out of the fabric. At time of writing this review at 0430am, there are still people walking around banging doors. Lots of work vans in the car park, if you can call the scrub land at the rear a car park. So clearly a cheap option for company’s to put up their workers for the night. I suppose it’s just a place to get your head down for a quick transfer to Gatwick. That is all. As has been mentioned before, the location of the hotel is town centre, with restaurants and bars. However, I wouldn’t venture out passed day light hours. Didn’t feel safe coming back to this hotel in the dark with my children.
