Key Inn was able to accommodate me when my original booking at another hotel fell through(Norwood Inn was closed and condemned, but they did notify me). The Key Inn is older and a bit shabby, but it appears that they are in the process of renovating one wing.
Upon arrival found a big orange sticker on the door, CLOSED. CONDEMNED It was closed by the city 2 days before. The day before I arrived I received a reminder of my reservation from Expedia. Honestly, whoever, from Expedia, last visited this property, should be fired
I arrived to find the hotel had been shut down by the health department. It was condemned
It was condemned by the state so it’s not even open anymore
THE HOTEL WAS CONDEMNED DURING MY STAY ! IT IS NOW CLOSED .
There is a nice Starbucks and also a mall near the hotel, which is great. The staff was very respectful and helped me out with the iron. Place could have been a little cleaner, but hey for the price I think it was a great bargain.
This was a very run down, unkept hotel. Mattresses were collapsed and uncomfortable. Multiple things in the room were dirty and pretty gross (carpet, curtains, surfaces uncleaned...). The breakfast was toast and cereal. Just an overall rough establishment. Non-smoking room areas reeked of cigarettes and weed. Not cool. Clearly no money is being spent on upkeep or repair of worn out fans, heating units, lamps etc.
Staff was really friendly, hotel seemed very safe, was clean
Its what is expected but bettter than other places. I prefer this location
I stayed after March 18, 2025. There is a red, 3 page notice from the city that the building has been condemned and must be vacated March 24, 2025. I have reached out to the city for confirmation. I also found a 2021 city report of the number of police calls to the inn. I suggested looking it up. My stay was fine. The room was old but clean. It was quiet despite being near the highway and interstate. The shower worked well. Plus they offered bar soap and conditioning shampoo. Breakfast included bagels, mini muffins, toast, oatmeal, cold cereal. The milk was enclosed in the dispenser in a gallon jug. The orange juice came out as water but the apple juice worked. An ice machine and vending was available. I had to place a parking permit on my dash to avoid being towed. If i was not concerned by the red notice i would stay here again. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Tv didnt work, dirty, nasty.
Check in, went to the room and saw a lots of ant 🐜 crawling all over the washroom and on towels.
A towel was already on the floor. So, the gave us another room. A smaller room of what i didn't pay for. Didn't give me the different of what i paid for.
Disinfection zero - it's absolutely filthy and run down. Cigarette burns on everything. I didn't see anyone cleaning anything, ever. My bathroom sink leaked out onto the floor. Pool is green and gross. For thrills and adventure, ride the elevator: you'll wonder if you're going to survive.
Pros: Clean, friendly, reasonable price, Roseville location offers easy access to St. Paul and Minneapolis venues
Cons: TV dated (grainy resolution)
Had an ant problem in the room. Hotel had no insecticide available. Security chain on door was broken. Baseboards in bathroom were falling off. Heater never turned off, thermostat didn’t work. It was either too cold or too hot. It was hard to sleep due to the room being too hot. Continental breakfast was a joke. Cereal and toast only. We do not recommend this hotel.
Room hasn't been cleaned completely in awhile there was cobwebs in the bathroom and bed area. Trim was peeling in the bathroom.
The staff was friendly, but the condition of the hotel was not good. The common area floors and furniture were outdated and dirty looking. The elevator was scary to use, it made lots of noise and shook and made a loud clunking noise when stopping. The breakfast was bare bones with all cold options and was not refreshed throughout the morning, once something ran out, it was out.
Absolutely a fine stay. The room was clean and spacious. The staffs are kindly and attentive.
never again
There were some things that could have been improved and it would end up with a 4 to 5 star rating.
