Superb world class Hotel.
Pros:

Not only is this hotel situated in the most incredible spot overlooking the sea and the mountains but its 7 star service stands out amongst the other similarly rated hotels in the world. Staff that were the friendliest I’ve come across in my travels. Nothing was too much trouble and they all had a smile at all times. Food was so exceptional in the restaurant it made venturing out totally unnecessary and the rooms were not only perfect but perfectly harmonised with their surroundings. Cannot wait to go back.

It was Lekker!
Pros:

Wunderbare Aussicht auf die Bucht und den Strand! Für jüngere Gäste bietet sich der 3 Minuten Fußweg zum Strand an!
Fitnessstudio hat alles was man für ein kurzes workout braucht!

Not a place for cigar or cigarettes lovers!
Pros:

I've travelled across South Africa for last two weeks staying only in 5 or 4 stars hotels. Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch.

All the hotels on the way granted a safe, distant place for smokers.

Not The Plettenberg Hotel! I have to smoke on the street. First time in my life.

Beautiful location
Pros:

We decided to book the Plettenberg after booking the Marine in Hermanus. We stayed 4 nights and the room was nice but for a suite, a little smaller than we had envisaged. At the Marine in Hermanus (sister hotel) the double room was as big and quite a bit cheaper. Hence the score on "value" vs the ratings for other items. It is, though, a beautiful hotel.
