The property was very unique and nicely located for walking around the Sydney Harbor area. Staff was generally very responsive and helpful. Room was very comfortable.

Cons:

Bathroom sink area was a little small as there was no place to put your own toiletries or place your clothes while showering.

Pretty hotel shocking management
Pros:

This is a hotel that has a great location, but the service is woeful. The general number rings with no answer the hours are unpredictable. its all a bit odd really.

Not a 5 star hotel any more, very disappointed and didn't end up staying
Pros:

Definitely not 5 star standard any more. Room was dirty, tv didn't work, phone didn't work, curtain didn't close, couch was stained and dirty. The staff were friendly and showed me two other rooms as an alternative but neither the tv or phone were working in those either, and both were dirty too. Decided to check out and got full refund from booking.com

Best hotel we stayed in on our trip
Pros:

Excellent hotel to stay in , one of the best we have stayed in while travelling for 5 weeks in Australia
From the minute we arrived, the staff where all so informative and friendly, and this extended all the way through to the breakfast restaurant, were we were welcomed every morning with a smile , to a fantastic breakfast

Function downstairs one night until 3am and with no notice.
Tried to book dinner at local restaurant one night and reception said nothing available. Went to restaurant and good table with ring 30 min.

Very tired rooms. Holes in carpets. Marks on furniture. Very noisy and erratic air conditioning. Urgently needs refurbishment.

Underwhelming.
Pros:

Good location, quirky design and great history.

Cons:

The hotel has clearly gone through a cost cutting program. We used to stay there often - free mini-bar, welcome pack, great breakfasts, etc. All gone. Blocked sink in the bathroom.
