I didnt have the breakfast included, we chose not to, and it was good since we had early morning tours. On the first night we also dined in the hotel and the food was marvelous. The hotel was a little empty, but it was January, after the Jubilee and Harry's bar on the corner was closed until January 19th, so I am sure the activity picked up after we left.
There was nothing I didnt like. The staff were marvelous and the room was beautiful.
El servicio del personal
La calefacción del baño no funcionaba.
Beautiful, old world hotel on the Via Veneto, centrally located. In the 1960s and 70s, this is where the so-called jet set stayed. Our room was huge, very clean, nicely furnished. One complaint: we were on an upper floor (5th?) and the air conditioning wasn't working well. Room was warm and stuffy, so we kept the window open, which let in noise from the Veneto below. Thankfully, it was mid-October. Good restaurant for lunch/dinner on street level.
The Westin Excelsior Rome is an elegant, classic hotel that captures the timeless charm of old Rome. From the moment you step into the lobby, it feels like traveling back to a more glamorous era. The hotel has a rich history, having served as a backdrop for numerous films and hosting many stars and celebrities over the years.
The staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive, providing outstanding customer service throughout the stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and decorated in warm, traditional colors with classic wallpaper. While some furnishings feel slightly dated, the comfort more than makes up for it. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms are large and well-appointed.
The staff specially Mario from the room services and the location

Coming back to the Westin Excelsior Rome feels like coming home.
After a long journey, being welcomed so warmly by a team that truly remembers you means everything.
This hotel is beautiful spotless, perfectly located on via Veneto, and the service is exceptional.
The rooms are clean feels safe and comfortable thank you to all the staff for a warm welcome.
This is our home away from home for the next 14 days in Rome.
So special.
From the check-In staff, the concierge staff, housekeeping, and the men who worked in the Porte Cochere the service we received was exceptional. We look forward to returning to Rome and staying @ the magnificent Westin Excelsior.
Gostei apenas da localização e da cordialidade dos seus funcionários.
Hotel muito antigo, precisando urgentemente de uma modernização. Academia muito pequena, com aparelhos antigos e todos muito próximos uns dos outros.
Our hotel room at the Westin Excelsior Rome was so ornate and luxurious with chandeliers and deep-red plush curtains that at times I just felt like snuggling in the four-poster bed reading a book to escape the holiday crowds. Highly recommended.
This was my first visit to the hotel with my family, and everything was excellent. If anyone stays at the hotel, they will feel like been at home. I definitely recommend to stay at this hotel and will return also.
We returned to Italy this spring to celebrate our new retirement and our first night stay was at the Westin Excelsior, one of Romes grand hotels, Iocated next to the embassy district. A short walk to restaurants and site seeing attractions.
The hotel itself hasn’t changed much since our last stay 10 years ago. It’s a timeless, elegant hotel with impressively larger rooms, nice furnishings and polite and professional staff. This is a busy hotel that likely appeals more to business clients than tourists, but it’s a great experience to stay in such an historical hotel if you are visiting Rome.
The Excelsior Hotel in Rome is a magnificent hotel on the Via Veneto. It is steeped in history having featured in the movie La Dolce Vita and the staff are so gracious. I only had time for one drink but it was fabulous! I will return!
The Westin Excelsior is of those grand ole hotels in the middle of the tourist attractions that makes the location location location command such a expensive place to stay. It has that old world charms but unfortunately amenities like US standard plugs and up to date USB charging are lacking.
