Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe

Hospitality was 10/10!!

Incredibly convenient, easy to walk to anywhere in downtown Santa Fe.

The hotel was nice and it was clean and it was very comfortable. The location was excellent and it was close to a lot of restaurants and museums. I loved the fireplace.

Hotel itself is pretty nice, have stayed on more than one occasion, however this experience was terrible, I booked through expedia and upon checking the room was not ready at 4pm, we left our luggage which was brought to our room for us which was nice. When we went to check in when room was ready the gentleman was very rude. We got to our room and all was good. Upon checking out, I was told there is no charge as everything has been pre paid, which it had been. When I got my credit card statement, I noticed they charged me for the room, even thought I had paid for it through expedia. I called and the woman was very polite and agreed they made a simple mistake. She said she could see right on her computer that they received money from expedia and did in fact charge me for the room by mistake. The kind woman proceed to tell me the refund would show up in 5 to 7 days.
Well a month or so later, nothing, I called again and very different story, i explained what happened, and the woman put me on hold for 5 minutes came back and said the only person who can deal with it is the manager, she took my details and said the manager would call when she arrives at work,,,, nothing for several days.
I called again, this time I was told expedia made the mistake and double charged me and I had to take it up with them. I told the woman that I was looking at my credit card statement which had a charge from expedia and a room charge from Hotel Chimayo. The woman said she can't help. I told her that the hotel charged me and they should not have, she said expedia should have not charged me. She said that I would have to prove to them what happened by forwarding my statement. I then asked if I should talk to a lawyer because they are stealing from me and I dont know what else to do, that is when she said thank you, good bye and hung up on me.
Soooo, I call back another time and have to explain to another person what happened, she was eventually able to rectify the issue of a fraudulent charge.
I have never in my life been treated like this by a Hotel, it seemed like a clear issue and they said I was lying. Unbelievable. I will never stay again and its too bad, because I like this place, but clearly can never trust them again

Front desk staff incredibly rude. Would not recommend, there are plenty of hotels in the area to choose from, no need to put up with bad experiences. Management should review Jacob and his poor attitude towards guests.

Great location right off the square ..very walkable

Most excellent location, you can walk to the downtown galleries, restaurants and shopping. The hotel has endearing charm, the rooms & lobby were decorated in southwest style with rustic furniture.
