Dos días en Shimoda.
Pros:

. Nos alojamos dos noches en el Hotel de Shimoda y la experiencia fue muy positiva. Destacan la calidad del servicio, las instalaciones y, especialmente, su amplia y espectacular piscina, situada en una zona elevada desde la que se disfrutan bonitas vistas de la costa. Al encontrarse en lo alto de una colina, el hotel ofrece un entorno tranquilo y unas panorámicas privilegiadas.

Si llegas antes de la hora del check-in, el personal guarda el equipaje y permite esperar y utilizar las instalaciones, incluida la piscina. Es un detalle muy práctico que hace que la llegada resulte especialmente agradable.

El desayuno fue fantástico: variado, abundante y adecuado para distintos gustos. Además, el personal ofrece una atención excelente y es habitual encontrar numerosos huéspedes internacionales.

También resulta muy útil el servicio de shuttle hasta la terminal de Shimoda, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta la ubicación elevada del hotel. A pie, el trayecto puede durar unos 20 minutos, por lo que este servicio facilita mucho los desplazamientos hacia la estación y el centro.

La playa situada justo debajo del hotel no nos pareció especialmente recomendable. Como alternativa, Shirahama Beach es una opción mucho mejor; desde la estación de Shimoda, el trayecto en taxi cuesta aproximadamente 2.500 yenes.

Los baños onsen están bien, aunque resultan algo pequeños para un hotel de estas dimensiones. Aun así, son agradables para relajarse después de un día de excursiones o de playa.

En cuanto al pueblo de Shimoda, nos pareció poco interesante: hay pocas tiendas y atractivos destacados, y muchos establecimientos cierran bastante temprano. Por eso, el hotel funciona mejor como base para disfrutar de sus instalaciones, las vistas y las playas cercanas que como punto de partida para explorar el centro de la localidad.

Cons:

Las habitación que nos tocó (214) eran antiguas y bien conservadas, pero el colchón muy blando y creemos que deberían cambiarlo. Parecía que dormías en una hamaca.
Se dormía mejor el la cama supletoria o en el sofá cama ya que era más rígido y estable.

Hawaiian feeling close to Tokyo
Pros:

we loved the Hawaii feeling at the end of our Japan trip! It’s a perfect hotel to relax for some days. The pool is great and the ocean is also beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming! We’d definitely come back!

Cons:

The bathrooms are a bit old fashioned as compared to other hotels we’ve booked here and I personally think that the price is a bit high, but we would pay it again! 🙃

Pros:

早餐不错，人多有点拥挤。

Cons:

酒店建在陡峭的山坡上，还好租了车，否则出入不方便，看到有人步行进出还是挺吃力的。海景房有噪音，经过交涉和等待后给换了山景房。酒店走到泳池和小沙滩需要爬一段楼梯，如果玩海还是去冲绳吧，下田有点萧条，海边浴场也一般，没什么人气。热海人多热闹，但沙滩灰色的看上去不是很干净。东京就近来玩还马马虎虎吧。

Cons:

Café da manhã é caro e não gostei. Tatuagem a mostra na piscina não pode. A praia não é perto e é pequena. Piscina poderia ficar aberta até um pouco mais tarde. Só tem um elevador, é isso demora de mais.

Pros:

Sehr gut Sicht vom Berg, toller Pool und Nähe zu einem kleinen Strand!

Cons:

Auf ein Taxi in den Ort oder zu einem Strand zu warten war sehr nervig. Restaurants sehr überschaubar in der Nähe und die Hotel-Restauration war überteuert!

Pros:

チェックイン時間前でも部屋にはいれたことや会員になるとチェックアウト時間の優遇やプール&大浴場の利用ができるなど教えてくれたこと、スタッフの人たちがフレンドリーだったことなど

Cons:

エキストラベッドをいれると部屋がかなり狭い。まあこれは仕方がないが部屋の広さかベットを追加するのは考えないといけないかもしれない。

Prachtig gelegen met top zwembad
Pros:

Locatie is moeilijk te evenaren -fantastisch mooi uitzicht over de oceaan - hoog gelegen op een top en een geweldig zwembad en ook de onsen waren zeer aangenaam. Het ontbijtbuffet is top - heel uitgebreid en lekker - westers en Japans. Wel minpuntje over de organisatie van het ontbijt / zie verder

Cons:

Wij hadden een familiekamer op een lagere verdieping met uitzicht op het groen - niet op de oceaan . We waren er tijdens de Obon week waardoor de prijzen hoger waren en om de prijs wat behapbaar te houden hadden we voor deze kamer gekozen. Ik denk dat / indien mogelijk / het aan te raden is om een kamer te nemen die uitzicht biedt over de oceaan. De kamer was ok maar we hebben qua comfort en gevoel wel in veel mooiere kamers in Japan verbleven. Ook de organisatie van het ontbijt - gezien het hotel vol zat - was wat moeilijk. Je kon niet op voorhand een tijdslot kiezen maar moest de ochtend zelf op de wachtlijst komen en soms moest je een uur wachten op een plekje. Maar het geweldige zwembad en de locatie maken alles goed - het is echt een geweldige plek om in de zomer toch van de zee en zwembad te genieten
