Sink water was not working. No soap on the dispenser. Sheets & towels had a bad order to them. No water bottle for coffee maker & fridge was not working.
The hotel is a very good place to stay, especially at the price point. Shiv checked us in, and he was awesome!!! There was a strong smell in the first room we were assigned. Shiv was able to get us a room that did not have a smell, and we were most grateful. The location is good. Although the property is close to the highway, the air conditioner unit maintained a nice steady hum that blocked most of the sound out. The breakfast was fine. It is typical hotel free food. Protein options were limited to eggs and sausage. I do recommend this property.
The smell of rubber in the fitness center was very strong. My husband worked out in there, but the smell gave me a headache, so I aborted my workout.
Was a great stay the staff was great
Had nothing that I didn’t like
Extremely nice for the money
Location excellent off the interstate
Our stay at Baymont by Wyndham Caddo Valley/Arkadelphia raised SERIOUS concerns about safety, cleanliness, and basic maintenance.
My son cut his finger on the pool ladder and needed a Band-Aid. The pool phone did not work, and a posted notice confirmed that the hotel already knew it was broken and instructed guests to walk to the front desk for help. The woman, Sarah at the desk, whom I understood to be a manager, said she had no Band-Aids or first-aid kit. When I asked her to actually check, she said they had not had one a few days earlier. A pool area without a working phone combined with staff being unable to locate basic first-aid supplies, is unacceptable!
The pool area also had a broken, partially collapsed patio umbrella left open above the guest seating area. This created another visible maintenance and safety concern.
Our room had numerous cleanliness and maintenance problems. The decorative fabric across both beds had visible stains and discoloration. Each double bed had three unusually small, underfilled pillows that offered very little support. The alarm clock did not work, and the hotel’s only ice machine was broken, leaving guests with no source of ice.
The bedside lamp had extensive rust across its metal base, dark buildup along the bottom edge, and a stained lampshade. The alarm clock beside it was dusty in addition to being nonfunctional. The room walls also had visible dust, streaking, and rectangular discoloration.
The bathroom showed significant deferred maintenance. The ceiling above the shower had widespread bubbling, peeling, patchwork repairs, and multiple areas of dark spotting and discoloration, including near the exhaust vent. The tub surround had dark discoloration along the seams, while the bathtub caulking was thick, uneven, and deteriorating.
The coffee maker, cups, and coffee supplies were placed on the bathroom vanity beside the sink and toilet. This was especially inappropriate because there was ample empty space in the main room above the microwave and refrigerator. No properly labeled hand soap was provided at the sink; instead, a bottle labeled “Body Wash/Gel Douche” was mounted there.
The microwave was significantly yellowed with age. The refrigerator was dented and scratched, its top panel was yellowed, and its door appeared to have been painted white, leaving an uneven and poorly refinished surface.
The smoke detector appeared heavily aged, yellowed, and dirty, and we never observed a visible status light. Although I cannot confirm that it was nonfunctional, its operating status was unclear and concerning given the other broken and poorly maintained equipment.
Even the accessible parking space was neglected. The pavement accessibility symbol and access-aisle markings were severely faded, and no upright accessible-parking sign was visible at the head of the space.
At checkout, a staff member identified Jack Patel as the manager. I have photographs documenting all of these conditions, including the posted notice acknowledging the broken pool phone.
This was not one isolated inconvenience. It was a pattern involving safety, cleanliness, unavailable amenities, and long-term deferred maintenance. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this property without substantial corrective action.
This facility is "okay..." It's fine for an in transit layover. It is convenient for freeway access and there are several eating facilities in close proximity.
Very clean, nice customer service, good breakfast.
