Pros:

It was quiet, friendly and comfortable

Cons:

The breakfast wasnt worth the money - burnt bacon, overdone sausages and tasteless scrambled egg. Didnt even bother with breakfast on 2nd stay. Rather disappointed at having to pay 2x£10 charge for my car. With car parking and the breakfast situation it made it expensive.

Generally OK, and very handy as a stop over, which is it's main function.
Pros:

Staff at check in were helpful. The location is very handy for the airport.
The room was adequate, I guess OK for the price.
The triple glazing worked very well. Very effective at eliminating external noise.

Cons:

The double bed is on the narrow side for a double. Also a bit too firm.
The bathroom is really quirky. It has the one door that doubles up as a door to the loo. Quite an ingenious way to save space.
The meal and bar prices are very high. Over £6 for a mediocre beer. The food was mediocre, we had fish ships and peas. My wife asked to have no chips but some extra vegetables instead, The guy who took the order said that would be ok. However instead of the chips, she just got a few more peas!
The breakfast, pretty limited choice, but adequate. But stone cold plates to put your bacon on! :(

Inadequate heat.
Pros:

Convenient location, easy parking, decent restaurant.

Cons:

The heat automatically shuts off at night preventing the guest from controlling the room temperature. When I woke up, the room was freezing. As a cancer patient who requires a warm room, this was a serious threat to my health. I have always been loyal to Holiday Inn precisely because their heating is usually reliable. This was a notable and disappointing exception to my experience of Holiday Inn.

Functional Hotel, a bit dull and drab but with Great Staff
Pros:

This is a very average hotel with a dated reception. Dining hall and Bar comprise of tables put in a room besides the reception giving off a staff canteen/hostel type of vibe. Overall it's quite dull and drab in appearance. Parking is 10 GBP even if you have a room for the night which I thought was expensive. Rooms and bathrooms are decent sized but again nothing to write home about. The highlight is the staff of the hotel. Every single staff member I encountered gave a warm smile and were friendly. Special mention here to Nathan who checked me in and gave me some great advice. This hotel is functional...does the job without any problems but very average in appearance and needs a facelift. If you end up here, it's not going to be a problem. It's comfortable enough for one night.
