It’s a fabulous location when it’s a venue for a conference as it’s so central
This time and for the first time in many visits.
the reception team were awful ! This really made a difference and sadly has made me rethink if this is the right venue ! The rest of the team in the eating area and bar were so fabulous !
I stay here frequently for work reasons and have always had a pleasant stay. Its location is central to where I need and it’s just off the motorway.
I’ve noticed a steady increase in costs for this hotel and it’s now outside of my business allowance (so I have to personally supplement, which previously I’ve been happy to do). However, the hotel now charge for use of the gym per day (even if you aren’t to use the pool), the car parking costs have increased and the majority of rooms are tired and are not worth the £150+ fee per night. The plugs were not compatible for voltage or placement and there were no sockets near to the bed. I would probably look to other options such as the Hilton or Village hotel.
The hotel was clean and tidy. All staff was friendly
We only had 1 towel in our room.
We shared our towel. However, it would have been nice to have 2 towels.
Spa and gym facilities
Cold room no heating
Rooms were nice and big - breakfast was amazing and the spa is a lovely treat.
Nothing!
Excellent breakfast great staff
The hotel itself is beautiful, spotless spacious and relaxing and great facilities with genuinely attentive staff who made the stay special from start to finish. The spa area, although busy was clean and a lovely place to unwind after a day at work.
The only disappointment for me was the spa product range used for treatments. I had hoped to book a massage but was very surprised to learn the Spa uses Temple Spa products. Whilst they are perfectly nice and widely available, they are very much a range that is likened the "Avon" brand of selling, it was not what I would have expected from a hotel and spa of this calibre. For a venue of such a high standard, I would have expected and hoped it would be a premium spa brand such as Elemis which feels more in line with the overall luxury experience.
That said, everything else about the Hotel was excellent. I just hope the spa product offering ay be upgraded in the future to better match the quality of the hotel itself.
The location, the breakfast staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was good apart from the vegetarian sausages which were just mushy vegetables.
The staff on reception were not very helpful, it took 3 attempts to get the correct charge for the parking and breakfast, also I could not get a VAT until we booked out. The toilet broke (When it was full of poo!), the flush handle came out from the fitting, I tried to call reception but all I could do was leave a message so I had to get dressed and go down to reception.
The lady on reception said she was sorry and originally told by that there was not another room available for us to move. When I told her that we could not spend the night in a room without a working toilet and insisted that something was done, she said she would see if she could find someone to fix it. She called me 20 minutes later and had found another room for us to move to.
I went down to Reception a second time to get the key for the new room because she was on her own until the manager came in. My husband and I had both bathed and were in bed before the toilet broke, we had to get dressed, pack all our things and move rooms.
She did say that she was sorry, but no offer was made of any compensation for the huge inconvenience and I was not happy about having to insist that we be moved.
Bed was clean
Didn't like the hotel at all. Couldn't use the pool as there was swimming lessons going on .shpuld have been told when booked..food was terrible .
Bathroom wasnt clean in room. Nor was the tea coffee making we had dirty cups spoons
Wouldn't stay or recommend this place
Location
Hotel getting a little tired, needs a tidy up and the spa facilities get very busy ,
Bar and restaurant are lovely.
Beds are very uncomfortable. Very hard. Big gap between the two beds they'd pushed together.
It was amazing
It was amazing
Tonight we went to the restaurant and we were served by Sami. He was very kind and friendly to us and he looked after us very well. The food was great and excellent service. Quickly served, great presentation and great atmosphere in the restaurant.
We had a fantastic stay at the Aztec Hotel and Spa and would happily return again. From start to finish, everything was excellent .A special mention goes to the reception staff, who were incredibly helpful and welcoming, making check-in smooth and always on hand to assist with any questions. Overall, a wonderful experience and a stay we’d highly recommend. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
Brilliant value for money, wonderful experience spotlessly clean, great treatments, friendly staff. Very pleasantly surprised
